New thread for us

OP posts:
Storyofcats · 04/04/2020 13:14

@stayathomegardener Yeah I've also lost quite a bit of weight..maybe half a stone. I'm also in a weird cycle @user..one better day, one awful day on repeat.

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 13:18

I haven't lost any bloody weight. I got flu in January and didn't lose any then either!!

mumlurker · 04/04/2020 13:19

Anyone having periods where they just can't stop yawning? As soon as I finish one yawn I move straight into the next one

Porcupineinwaiting · 04/04/2020 13:23

Another one in a cycle here. c 12 hours of symptoms from 2am on day 1, then subside, day two v minor symptoms. Rinse and repeat.

EMichel102 · 04/04/2020 13:30

@tupperwaretowers I had that as well. I think because I was so tired and exhausted my pulse on my head / neck etc

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 13:31

So strange porcupine I am not there yet .. but did have totally fluctuating fever and now feeling better after the lung clearing exercise - I am actually feeling better but I am early days.

To relapse and have a cyclical change and deteriation is scary

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 13:34

Thanks for the update longshot

It is so bizarre to me how disoriented and sick I have been and now to feel better as I do right now is strange - I do have some chest issues and am tired but I am worried I am being mulled into a sense of being better when the virus may still rear it's ugly head again so hopping back to bed.

Honestly the last few days I could not move or type.

I could not lift a glass of water.

lilsimbax · 04/04/2020 13:41

@Needsomegoodnews thanks for that info, that makes sense. I’m sure I had read somewhere of others having random itching quite far into this Covid19 saga. I thought I was getting better but days 11 and 12 have been the worst for me so far. I really hope I turn a corner (for the better!) soon 😤.

Sambucus · 04/04/2020 13:41

@Casino218 it’s today, 4 hours ago in response to someone called Linda Geddes. I’m sorry, I am a Luddite as far as twitter goes!

user34254356 · 04/04/2020 13:50

@Longshot so happy to hear your updates. Please keep them coming.

NK346f2849X127d8bca260 · 04/04/2020 13:56

My 18 year old DS is on day 5 of which we think is Covid 19, he feels alot better, sleeps alot but is drinking and eating, he said that last night he felt feverish again but not burning up, is this the sort of pattern it follows? He did mention his chest felt a bit tight but seems okay today, i am a bit worried has he is a CF carrier, but that isnt meant to put him at any extra risk although he has only just come out of an anorexic BMI and sees a dietician for his poor weight.

Needsomegoodnews · 04/04/2020 14:04

@longshot thanks, that’s encouraging as you sound much improved from even a few days ago - gives hope to those of us in the 2-3week club!

Tangledyarn · 04/04/2020 14:06

@longshot Really pleased you are on the mend, nice to have some + stories from other people in the 4 week club Flowers

stayathomegardener · 04/04/2020 14:33

@OneDayAtATime123 must look into that!

@longshot great update. Are you still spiking a fever? I've only had one incidence of face flushing so far today and assume till that goes I'm still actively dealing with after affects.

Taffyapple8 · 04/04/2020 15:00

I'm on day 6. Woke up with a cough (first time) but felt better in general. Even managed breakfast. Now in the last 20 mind I feel worse than ever. Temp is back up and the dihorrea is back. Can someone talk me down? I read that things that take a bad turn on day 6 is a bad sign

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 15:08

@Taffyapple8 well you've seen many of us on here through the numerous threads are still improving so don't think about the random bad news stories. Try to just rest, drink plenty of water, eat regular meals and let your immune system do the rest.

longshot · 04/04/2020 15:11

@stayathomegardener I’ve not had a fever now for over a week. I stopped having a consistent fever I think around day 14 and then had one random spike on day 17, nothing since then.

Someone has commented about itching, my DD has this, she also had bad joint ache and the rib pain now. She’s only 8 poor thing. I feel bad there’s nothing I can do for her. She’s resting, she seems ok one day, poorly the next, I have no idea what day she’s ok, probably just a few behind me I guess.

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 15:27

Sorry to jump in like this, been lurking for a couple of threads but was wondering if I could ask a question to those of you who’ve been through it as I’m really worried about my brother in law who’s really ill with covid.
His breathing is okay now (he’s had it a couple of weeks) but he has a high fever and is sweating so much. and throwing up constantly. He hasn’t eaten anything apart from half a piece of toast for five days and has only been able to drink a little too, he can’t keep anything down. He’s been sleeping pretty much 24/7. The doctor prescribed anti sickness meds yesterday which he took but he’s been sick again today, after sweating really badly and having hardly any fluid in him anyway.
My sister is trying to get through to 111, she’s really worried. Is this serious enough for an ambulance? As his breathing is okay obviously she’s reluctant to. But if he’s seriously hydrated should he maybe be in hospital with a drip? Did anyone else get this bad with the sickness/sweats/dehydration?
Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

lilsimbax · 04/04/2020 15:32

@longshot It was me that commented about the itching. Your poor daughter, she’s right, it’s the itching and joint ache, the itching is like a burning itch once you scratch it - which I’m trying not to. It’s the longevity of this damn virus that makes it harder. I honestly thought I would be better by 10, but it seems it’s just a couple of good days followed by bad. Oh well, at some stage it’ll be gone, it’s nice to hear the positive stories 😁.

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 15:36

@Sunshineskies sorry to hear that. Does he appear dehydrated? Urine output? Dry mouth?

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 15:41

Thanks @Casino218 just trying to be get through to her but i think she’s still trying 111. I really hope she gets through as I’ve heard of people waiting and waiting and being cut off. She did say he had the signs of dehydration.

TheDrsWife46 · 04/04/2020 16:01

@Sambucus I saw Tim Spector on an instagram live yesterday and my kids were shouting but I heard him say “ive had symptoms myself and im still quite breathless even now” i really wanted to seen if I could find it again. I’ll look on his twitter.

Day 13 for me and touch wood ive had a really positive day where ive managed to just be washed and dressed and just sit watching tv etc rather than being consumed by the symptoms. I know ive been scared by stories of 20 days plus. I have dipped every night and got emotional and frustrated, but I do feel “better” today.

Porcupineinwaiting · 04/04/2020 16:06

@Sunshineskies if your SiL cant get through to 111 please tell her to call 999. Yes he is sick enough for an ambulance, some people are going to hospital to be treated for dehydration.

JackJackIncredible · 04/04/2020 16:16

@Sunshineskies

Is he well enough to be able to get to A&E? If not, call an ambulance but unfortunately, there are long waits so if he can safely get there, it may be quicker.

In the mean time, any ice lollies and ice cubes, syringe tiny amounts of water. Dioralyte (sp?) is also helpful, it can be frozen.

JackJackIncredible · 04/04/2020 16:17

P.S. I had a terrible experience with NHS111, they never got back to me and I couldn’t speak to anyone when I tried to phone back. I ended up deteriorating and my partner called an ambulance, I needed oxygen straight away.
