Day 19
@TheDrsWife46. That’s interesting as I haven’t seen it mentioned. So glad you’re starting to feel a little better. Every day is a step forward! I’m afraid I’ve not had a very good couple of days: more persistent fever and palpitations and another course of antibiotics. I cling to the good news and hope to be able to report positive progress myself soon!

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 16:26

@sunshineskies can he suck ice cubes? It helps get a tiny bit of water in

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 16:29

Thank you for the advice. I think she could get him in the car for a&e but I don’t think you’re supposed to go to a&e with covid symptoms?

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 16:30

Although maybe he isn’t contagious anymore as he’s been ill for around 3 weeks. But then my sister could be? She hasn’t had any symptoms but could be asymptomatic.

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 16:32

She couldn’t get through to 111 at all.

JackJackIncredible · 04/04/2020 16:33

You can go to A&E but she won’t be allowed to stay with him and they’ll give him a mask and gloves.

kevintheorangecarrot · 04/04/2020 16:36

I thought I was over the worse of it but now my sore throat and fatigue is back Sad my breathless has improved a lot but I'm so scared that's going to come back thick and fast!

Paleninteresting · 04/04/2020 16:42

Hi all, lurker since thread 1. Now on day 2. Thank you everyone who has posted. It’s a great supportive area.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 04/04/2020 16:45

Thanks, mymoonmyman, I'm a bit pissed off tbh, had enough of this! Hopefully we'll just continue to improve.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 16:48

I've got a continuous jabbing like pain under my right rib at the bottom. Anyone else have this?
I do have bad acid reflux so it could be this but that isnt how it usually presents in me.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 16:50

Aww bless your little girl @longshot
It's awful when it's kids. Especially when you know how bad it can make you feel.
I hope she is feeling better soon ❤️

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 16:52

@paleninteresting
Are you on day 2 how are you feeling?
I'm day 12 now and it's the first day in 3 days that I've basically stayed in bed.
Just so drained.

TheDrsWife46 · 04/04/2020 16:57

@Sunshineskies i’d call an ambulance for that. I have an old school friend who is an ward sister. When i told her how i’d been for these weeks she said that I should have been in hospital as they could have been monitoring fluids/nutrition and observed me if I had wanted sedation. For your brother in law I’d say he falls into what she suggests.

Lovelesslily · 04/04/2020 16:59

@ofwarren I have the sharp jabbing pain under my ribs as well. Worse if I stand up. I keep looking expecting to see a big bruise but obviously there is nothing there.

Day 14 for me. Fever seems to have receded and now just left with these random pains - the under rib one and my back/sides. Chest is much better however (feel like I'm jinxing it by mentioning it though...) I am still utterly exhausted and can't do much other than sit and watch TV but better than I was.

Just got the fear as this time last week I thought I was basically recovered ... then got hit much worse! Fingers crossed this time.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 17:05

My rib pain is worse on standing too.
I wish they would put out some information on what to expect when recovering from this virus. I know we don't have lots of data to go on, but surely there is some from China now?
We are all in the dark really, with no medical advice at all.

Tangledyarn · 04/04/2020 17:05

Other people a few weeks in are you still getting random bad episodes of feeling unwell, lung pain v breathless out of the blue ie when you arent doing anything?

Am generally improving eg out of bed a bit more now, not had a temp for a couple of days and eating a bit more although still feel very rubbish in myself and some chest pain and breathlessness is there all the time but then have these episodes of feeling much worse again for a couple of hours.

alittleprivacy · 04/04/2020 17:05

I just went for a little walk, really little - maybe about 5-10 minutes long. I had to turn back and come home as my chest was starting to really hurt. And now my lower back is in agony. I assume it has to do with maybe using muscles that haven't been used in 18 days? Overall, I'm feeling a little improved again on yesterday.

One thing that the walk really brought home to me, is that I'm mentally in a very, very different place to nearly everyone else. I was telling DS to keep away from people and not to touch things, but 100% I was just going through the motions. As far as I can tell I have had Covid 19 and I'm just not scared about it on a personal level anymore.

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 17:07

@Tangledyarn yes 26 days in and retired to bed this afternoon. Rib pain headache tiredness.

Yummypalmtree · 04/04/2020 17:09

I’ve had very very short lived possible symptoms. DD was poorly last weekend - typical heavy cold, shivery, running nose, cough, some abdominal pains but eating fine. She was poorly about 5 days in total. On Tuesday / Wednesday I had middle backache, across my upper back and shoulders and that familiar feeling of a cold starting, mild sore scratchy throat, feeling like I was coming down with something.

During the night on the Wednesday I woke up feeling really odd, my chest was burning like heartburn and I suddenly had a ‘bloom’ of burning right through my chest and back. It took my ages to get back to sleep as I couldn’t get comfortable and I felt shivery. Thursday and Friday I felt a little tight chested at times and tired and shivery occasionally - during the afternoon my face suddenly went very warm and red. I was able to WFH the whole time.

All this time I have had no temperature and no real cough. The only symptoms I have now is feeling cold all the time.

Could that possibly be it? Very odd - nothing like the normal cold I’d get - mainly sore throat, bit of chest tightness and that was very fleeting. One episode on a warm face and occasional chills. Really weird but hoping that was it.

LarkDescending · 04/04/2020 17:12

@ofwarren yes I am still feeling the stabbing pain in/under my right ribs. I wonder whether we will ever find out what it is.

Are any rib-pain people getting it on the left side or both sides, or is it a right-sided thing only?

Lovelesslily · 04/04/2020 17:13

@ofwarren That's what's upsetting / worrying me as well, that feeling that nobody knows and there is nowhere I can go for help/information. How do I know we known if symptoms are "normal" or a sign of something to take action on... and then what action?!

Friend who now works for 111 keeps posting statuses on FB about not to call unless you literally cannot breath, then minutes later posting horrific stories about young people dying at home quite suddenly with it...

It seems that if you can breath, no one is interested in any other symptom. I know that may seem unfair and of course the NHS is massively stretched but I think that feeling of abandonment is almost worse than the symptoms.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 17:14

All the symptoms sound correct @Yummypalmtree
Some people just experience them mildly.
Hopefully it was and you get some antibodies

Lovelesslily · 04/04/2020 17:14

@LarkDescending Mine is mainly on the left side but twinges on the right as well.

Tangledyarn · 04/04/2020 17:25

@lovelesslily So true they really need to give some guidance around moderate illness, it's very hard to know what's ok, what's normal and when you are very breathles and you're feeling very unwell and frightened and struggling to think straight it would just be helpful to have some more advice for those type of cases.

Standrewsschool · 04/04/2020 17:26

@sunshineskies - I would take bil to a and e or ring 999. Continuous sickness isn’t good and you don’t want him getting dehydrated.
