@KinderWild I was like that last night. Sad already dreading going to bed tonight in case it's the same - or worse.

The COVID team on 111 last night seemed clueless about the chest pain?! Kept referring to it being caused by all the coughing but I only have a very mild cough and the chest pain was my first symptom, not the cough.

Why is the chest pain symptom being overlooked by the official channels?

KinderWild · 04/04/2020 09:59

It does seem to a symptom that a fair few people are experiencing. The symptoms of this thing seem to be pretty wide ranging. The local doc I spoke to is working only on suspected covid. He said the symptoms I was reporting including the chest pain were the same as lots of people were reporting.

My pain was definitely not caused by my cough. My cough was not big enough.

Storyofcats · 04/04/2020 10:19

Having a shower just nearly killed me, I am making progress though.Day 30. Still got a lot of burning, chest pain and breathlessness when mobile, the fatigue, weakness and shakiness is the worst bit now..think I've got used to the other stuff to a degree now. Need to make a real push to try and ear more today..still have no apetite. Hope all the other long timers are hanging in there x

TheDrsWife46 · 04/04/2020 10:20

@stayathomegardener thanks for thinking of me. I came off here yesterday purely as a bit of an experiment. I literally closed all phones/media down and focused on how well we were feeling. Daytime was better. Dd and i had a good day yesterday. I managed to get up, showered and shuffled to hell her with some school work. At night time we were back gulping for air. We were both laid in the lounge and a but scared, DH waited for us to both drop off and then went to bed. But I didnt take tablets to sleep; I ended up waking over and over.

This is the most well ive felt. Day 13 for me I think. The not sleeping thing highlights that I feel a bit stuck mentally. I feel like “we’ve had covid arghhhhh” and it feels me with panic. But then my mind goes to “we’ve recovered from it”

But im scared of whats next. Im scared of the world. Im scared that dh and dd2 seem unaffected and so worry for them. So i came off here purely to see if I felt better by pretending the world away.

I do feel much better today. But I feel like this has actually deeply affected me, the fear and isolation of it has really left me feeling so abandoned. And what can we expect after we’re better?

I know i want a test but eventually will someone give us some kind of check up to see if we have been left with long term affects.

I know lots of people are talking aboug lung/rib pain which I do have at day 13. However ive had pulmonary embolism before and even when the clots had dispersed I still had significant chest pains and so im trying to reassure myself that its likely to be the “damage” and inflammation.

user34254356 · 04/04/2020 10:23

Good morning. Encouraging to hear everyone has had a good start to the morning. I had a bad night with shooting pain in my upper back / ribs. I know @longshot has had similar.

It's Day 18 and i have finished my antibiotics and so getting paranoid whether the pains have come because i finished the antibiotics course. Anyone else finished their course yet? Perhaps i should get some more on Monday.

@longshot glad the brufen gel has helped. How many times a day can you apply it? Are you doing your usual light household work now?

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 10:30

Can I join please.Grin

I am early days with this virus.I can't quite remember when I got Covid-19 as have lost all track of time.

2 days of total pain.

I could not lift my head yesterday.

I could not speak or type.

I could not lift a glass of water but could life a lighter plastic sports bottle so managed to hyrdrate ok.

I can not sleep well but am in bed and not really moving at all.

I only made it to the toilet because there is a hand rail outside my bedroom.

I can't remember when I got Covid but I just remember walking into a door and then needing to Collapse and rest. Then the fever came although I was no t hot to touch at all it was only by taking my temp I realised I had a fever. I could have been disoriented because I was dehydrated.

I have been inside from before the lock down. I had completely blitzed my house was using bleach every night and had done a massive cleaning programme over the last month. I also was wearing face masks at home all the time. At the moment I am in one room while the kids and my partner are downstairs - they seem well. I am at increased risk of respiratory illness and have mild asthma but can't find my inhaler. I did have to go into central London mid March and this was unavoidable even though I had to go. So maybe I got it then?

Fevers are very strange I got from 36 to 38 to 39 then back 36 then in a minute it is 38.0 38.1 38.3 and so on.

The kids and dad are in separate rooms and stay downstairs apart from sleep time

We only have 1 bathroom but we do have a spare toilet - I use the toilet and don't shower.

Thank you @stayathomegardener for the clip about clearing lungs it has really helped me. It was so incredibly helpful. I feel better after doing it I feel ok for being able to type.

I am thinking I should ring the nhs and go through my history and also explain that I was disoriented for a couple of days while I am still lucid.

Am terrified in some ways but trying to stay positive and trust my body.

I am worried about this dragging on for a month.

I really found the lung clearing so good and it seems to have helped me so again thank you Smile

simplekindoflife · 04/04/2020 10:31

@TheDrsWife46

Totally agree. I'm concerned about the long term effects too. I wonder if we'll all get full check ups but it could be months - years even!

I'm having anxiety about it all too which is not helping with my breathing.

I'm on social media today and feeling sad watching everyone having fun with their dc. I'm missing them so much. I can hear them laughing downstairs. Bring back homeschooling and arts and crafts and even slime!

simplekindoflife · 04/04/2020 10:33

I am worried about this dragging on for a month.

Me too @Pokemontrainer. I'm 7 days in and every day I feel worse! Sad

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 04/04/2020 10:35

I’m on day 12. Still a cough, some chest pain (shooting and corset), O2 stats much improved but not normal yet (95ish). Getting easily tired, but much improved from Friday to Mon (days 4-8) which were the worst.

Really hoping I continue an upward trend and don’t relapse.

Sending virtual tea and sympathy to everyone else still suffering.

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 10:38

Thank you @oncemorewithfeeling99 can you tell me how you check your oxygen levels?

Thank you everyone I have not told anyone in real life as have enough crazy messages from my family.. one family member sent me a message basically saying if you get this you can die so I am not responding to anyone so I can just fight this in my bubble at home Smile

EMichel102 · 04/04/2020 10:39

@user34254356 I finished my antibiotics a few days ago but they keep working for another 4-5 days in your system anyway so you should be A-ok

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 10:40

@simplekindoflife really hope and wish for things to turn around for you and everyone else in this position DaffodilDaffodil

Needsomegoodnews · 04/04/2020 10:42

Nice to see some positive morning updates and a few who are sleeping better. I had an ok nights sleep but headache, and chest tightness back today and keep yawning even though I slept well - fatigue or needing more air I guess. Feel like I’ve got a permanent hangover. Haven’t managed to get up yet - @findingschools4myboys it’s a heavy exhausting feeling like you mentioned. @Standrewsschool glad you pointed out a few having temp up again day 18 as mine was up last night, ok today but feel like it’s going up again (prickly feeling).

@lilsimbax keep an eye on itching as it can be a sign of the liver struggling a bit - if you notice any yellowing of eyes or skin you should call it in with GP/medics. It can also be due to histamine in the immune response though.

Needsomegoodnews · 04/04/2020 10:49

@Pokemontrainer sorry you’re struggling. Make sure your partner checks on you regularly. It does knock you out at the start (I’ve realised I don’t have much memory of the early days of fever etc) but good that you’ve picked up slightly.

UncomfortableBadger · 04/04/2020 10:51

Morning all! So pleased to see that some of us are feeling a little more human.

After a terrible day yesterday, am feeling a bit brighter today (day 9). Had a solid 8 hours of sleep (versus literally none the night before) which I think was down to a combo of doing the aforementioned breathing exercises video, a long and hot shower, co-codamol, Gaviscon and covering myself in Vicks before going to bed, lying face down. No vomiting or nausea on waking either, which is a huge relief but chest pains still there (albeit to a lesser extent than yesterday).

So however suddenly feel like I’m generating loads of phlegm - almost more like a bad post nasal drip. I can’t manage to cough any of it up so have a hot water bottle on my chest & am sitting upright. Anybody got any tips for getting rid of this?

Lightsabre · 04/04/2020 11:07

Day 7 here and feel worse unfortunately after feeling a bit stronger last night. Heaviness in chest feels worse and breathing shallower. Called 111 again as I'm scared - got through quickly today and the clinician rang back swiftly too. I can talk but get puffed out doing so. I don't have a temperature and that seems to be throwing everyone. She was reassuring that the two steps forward, one step back is how Covid progresses. I took an inhaler puff but that's made my heart race even faster. I feel so guilty for ringing them but I don't know what else to do.

tupperwaretowers · 04/04/2020 11:09

Day 22 Anyone else having near constant palpitations?

TheWooisStrong · 04/04/2020 11:18

@tupperwaretowers I did have some but only for a day or two.

Just a quick check - what supplements etc are you all taking?
I have:
A high strength Vit D /K2 spray.
Spatone iron supplement (I really recommend this, some of the symptoms we have are similar to anemia, and since I’ve started taking it I feel loads better)
Vit B for energy.
Fizzy vit C/zinc tablet.
Guaifenesin to help keep the cough loose.
Turmeric tea.

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 11:21

lightsabre don't fell guilty calling 111 - please don't it was a sensible thing to do.

Take care

EMichel102 · 04/04/2020 11:28

@tupperwaretowers yes I have them frequently. I have low blood pressure and never a very high heart rate but they’re very loud / pronounced frequently like jumping out of my chest!

Crayfishforyou · 04/04/2020 11:30

Day 7
I had a very fevery sweaty night last night. I am now temp free so I'm taking paracetamol for the sinus headache. I'm very congested today.
Heartburn is back and my stomach is very gurgly. I also feel heavy and achy.
I stood on the scales this morning and I've lost 6lbs in a week. I haven't missed more than a couple of meals either.

I'm taking spirulina
Vitamin d
Vitamin b
I take all those regularly anyway, I've also ordered potassium citrate, vitamin c and zinc.

Meercatmama · 04/04/2020 11:44

Day 20 for me After a good day yesterday I woke up this morning with a headache and the cough is back I also have a runny nose. just hoping this will pass as I actually do not feel to bad and am able to do things. Glad to see lots are feeling a bit better and we can offer to support to those in the middle of it.

UncomfortableBadger · 04/04/2020 11:46

Same here Crayfishforyou - I’m down 4.5kg since Friday 27th and I feel phlegmmy today also. Day 9 for me...

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 11:48

Day 26 banging headache like I've been out on the town but no alcohol has passed my lips in week or two! Wondering what my BP is?

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 11:53

Day 12
Had a good night sleep
Heaviness and weakness feeling is still there.
Chest and back still feel burning and heavy
I have some phlegm which I'm struggling to cough up.
Breathless sensation still there even though saturation is 100%
I have a few episodes of racing heart
