New thread for us

OP posts:

@everythingisginandroses Rubbish isn't it, I've got a temperature again today and feeling awful, I think its day 26, its absolutely miserable. I'm sure we will all get there..eventually! Flowers

ofwarren · 02/04/2020 20:13

@HollieBerrie
The breathlessness has eased off. I think some of it is caused by acid reflux. I get my lansoprazole prescription tomorrow and hopefully my gaviscon will come.

hollieberrie · 02/04/2020 20:14

Hand hold for you @everythingisginandroses
I'm on day 20 and been feeling pretty bad these last few days. But looks like a lot of people started to improve around this time so fingers crossed we will too very soon.
Hang in there, do you find it comes in waves?

fogginghell · 02/04/2020 20:17

To those who lost their sense of taste and smell: has it come back and if so , when did it come back? After how many days etc ... I am finding the sensation of being hungry with not being able to taste a thing to be very very strange

Thankfully my back pain/lung pain whatever it is seems to have eased, possibly with a hot water bottle held firmly against it for a good while , while watching crappy stuff on tv.

@TheDrsWife46 hope you have a better night with your dd, and I stay up till quite late (also suffer with health anxiety after losing my mum), so you can post on here and I should be around to chat with Thanks

Hope everyone else is feeling even a tiny bit better

hollieberrie · 02/04/2020 20:18

Oh no @tangledyarn sorry to hear you're still struggling with it. Day 26?!! God this virus.

Needsomegoodnews · 02/04/2020 20:18

I find reading all of your posts very comforting - this is all so scary and isolating otherwise. I’ve had more normal temp and breathing for 2-3 days now (day 16 from start of fever) but I feel so lightheaded. I though I was feeling better this afternoon so I went for a 5 minute walk around the block. Half way I felt dizzy and detached and worried that I might pass out. Made it home but my head still feels strange. Has anyone else had this and it’s passed? I would try not to worry but the twists and turns of this illness have left me anxious that anything can happen and you guys are the only ones who seem to know what it actually feels like.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/04/2020 20:19

My cough is completely different today. Still dry, but coming from an awful pain behind my breast bone and throat. I’m wondering if the virus has gone but I’m left with the after effects of being so poorly for so long! Maybe throat irritation or lung irritation, or pericarditis (I have a heart condition anyway).
I’ve got more energy now, and spoke to the nurse at the GP today who recommended an inhaler every 4 hours and to call back of it doesn’t help and she’ll prescribe steroids.

everythingisginandroses · 02/04/2020 20:22

Thank you, @hollieberrie and @tangledyarn. My chest has improved a lot and I am gaining in energy, which is really good. Mostly just hot, flushed and bored right now! I know we'll all get there Flowers

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 20:23

@Needsomegoodnews yes I get this dizziness / light headedness and have had it for 2 days, am on day 17. My body also starts to “buzz” / tremor a bit when it gets tired, particularly toward late afternoon and evening. Feels so weird!

Meercatmama · 02/04/2020 20:24

Hi Day 18 I actually went for a walk today and managed to do load the dishwasher and washing machine and hang it our. Now feeling really tired and back ache back again. Over the last two days had flashes of being hot especially at night in bed but generally starting to feel better. I was thinking back to how I felt on day 6 and 7 and I do feel better but just not right I was expecting to recover more quickly but now resigned to taking one day at a time and making the most of it the best way I can Hope every one is starting to feel a little bit better. These threads have been a lifeline to me and made me feel I was not alone

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 20:26

@needsomegoodnews yeah me too. My head just feels weird like my brain is too big for my head and I feel very spaced out and dizzy and faint.

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 20:27

@emichel102 the internal shaking/vibration is the absolute pits, much worse in the evening for me too.

alittleprivacy · 02/04/2020 20:28

Day 16 and I'm feeling as good as I did on day 12. Only difference was that on day 12 I was 100% I was done and would definitely be completely better in a day or two. But after a 3 day backslide, I'm not at all convinced that this will ever end. (I mean I know it will but it's just fucking terminable.) If I had to sum up this illness in one word it would be boring.

It's just really, really boring. I'm not really sick enough to be miserable. Sometimes I'm a bit scared what with being sick in the middle of the worst global pandemic in over a century. The acheyness and breathlessness is horrible and exhausting. But mostly I'm bored, bored, bored.

I'm jealous of the people who are spending their days doing projects with their kids. Spring cleaning their houses. Doing fun exercise videos. Etc. If I so much as forget myself on a good day and sing a bit of a song, I can't breath properly for two days after. And I love to sing..... :(

ofwarren · 02/04/2020 20:30

@needsomegoodnews
I get that weird spaced out feeling too.
Never felt anything like it. I feel almost drunk at times. Not nice.

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 20:35

@tangledyarn the internal body vibration is definitely the worst! Do you think it’s just our bodies being tired? What the heck is it?! I feel possessed.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 02/04/2020 20:36

@everythingisginandroses maybe we need a special long running low grade fevers thread!

Hi, to everyone else. I am reading all your updates and wishing you all well.

I have ordered the antibody test but can't go in for it due to the oft mentioned low grade fever so hopefully they will deliver.

It's clearly a bit of a rip off when you look at the cost of the kits else where. But I haven't seen anyone else who has them in stock. And put it this way I haven't exactly been splashing the cash for the past few weeks.

Casino218 · 02/04/2020 20:37

Just wanted to say it will be ok guys. It's crap and takes about 22/23 days to feel right. Hang in there and don't try to do too much. Rest. Drink water. Distract yourselves. Take care x

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 20:39

@tangledyarn do you get the extra sensitivity to noise / jumpiness too? Like your nervous system is on overdrive?

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 20:39

@emichel102 I feel like it's like it's my immune system kind of being overactive as it often seems to coincide with my throat feeling much worse and chest pain and burning being worse. But yeah its horrible xx

KinderWild · 02/04/2020 20:46

@EMichel102, @tangledyarn - I have had the weird internal vibration thing too! Only in the evenings. very weird.

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 20:48

@kinderwild the only thing that solves it is sleep! Comes with the sensitivity to noise / jumpiness at the same time

FatimaLovesBread · 02/04/2020 20:51

Coming back to expand on my previous post.

I'm on day 25, had suspected CV and then attempted to go back to work on day 15. By this point I'd started with my right side of my ribs aching. By the end of that day at work I was in agony, hurt to walk back to my car. My cough was also getting worse again, really rattly and agony to cough. I sneezed once and thought I was going to pass out. Tried work again the following day but gave up and went home early, my manager telling me to go back on sick, have beem on sick since.

GP said that a lot seemed to be having these rib pain symptoms. I spoke to her on day 15 and she said it was rib and intercostal muscle sprain. Spoke to her again on day 17 as all the pain seemed to be getting worse and not just "external", it felt internal too. Cough was worse again, rattly and more productive.
She said still the rib strain but that it also sounded like there was some pleurisy from the CV19 and it seemed like I was starting with a chest infection as a result of these. Advised sleeping propped up, so I've been sleeping on the sofa since.

I've finished the antibiotics today and the pleurisy and chest infection seem to have more or less cleared up. Ribs are still aching, especially when in more active. I'm hoping its finally on it way out but GP said ribs can take a while to heal

Sorry that was a long post, I wish I'd found these threads earlier

FatimaLovesBread · 02/04/2020 20:56

@ofwarren I was prescribed Amoxicillin for chest infection. Metronidazole tends to be for hardier bacteria that cause major problems such as anaerobic bacteria that are harder to treat with other antibiotics

Casino218 · 02/04/2020 20:57

@Grapefruits where did you order the antibody test from?

findingschools4myboys · 02/04/2020 20:59

@hollieberrie
Yes my taste and smell has slowly been coming back. Not normal yet but I can taste and smell stuff. I take this horrible tasting probiotic drink every morning and I am now having to hold my nose again when I drink it. When I couldn’t taste I didn’t need to hold my nose as couldn’t taste a thing.
