New thread for us

OP posts:
stayathomegardener · 02/04/2020 18:03

@tangledyarn I'm the same point as you and even though I'm improving I'm just SO fed up of not feeling well and wondering if antibiotics might help.

KinderWild · 02/04/2020 18:09

Thanks @Gogoberry that video is really helpful.

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 18:09

@stayathomegardener it's so hard isn't it, am just trapped in my bed which feels ridiculous at this stage. I'll feel a bit better for a couple of hours and then feel really dreadful again. It does make sense that it would be a long illness, I guess we have no immunity, we have underlying conditions..its weird I feel I can almost feel my body trying to battle a bug and then failing. Hang in there love..we will get there.. Flowers

mumlurker · 02/04/2020 18:38

Thanks for that video @Gogoberry it has reassured me a bit

I'm finding that today I'm able to have a 10 or 20 minute conversation, but feel like I have to recover a bit afterwards and catch my breath. It's such a horrible feeling, and hard not to descend into anxiety with it!

Hope everyone's feeling ok this evening...I've been dreading the evenings because it's often when I feel worst, but trying to focus on the relief/respite the next morning (usually...) brings

longshot · 02/04/2020 18:46

@Runnerduck34 my timeline is on the last thread but I Am feeling much improved at day 22. I am still tired and feel a bit run down towards the end of the day but generally able to do all I would do normally in a day except run / work out now. In another week I hope I’ll be back to that. I do still rest regularly (not sleep, sit on sofa and read) but otherwise pretty ok since yesterday. There is hope Smile

KayakingOnDown · 02/04/2020 18:50

I've been so lucky that DH has been off work (self isolating) and has done all the home schooling.

I'm feeling so much better (day 16) and DH is encouraging me to take some exercise, but I'm worried. I'll go for a short walk tomorrow and see how it goes. Hopefully no-one will shout at me if I stop to sit on a bench!

OneDayAtATime123 · 02/04/2020 18:51

@Runnerduck34
Day 16 or 17 (?) today - I probably had similar symptoms like you last week, but since the last three days, I have been feeling a lot better. I do get tired occasionally, but breathlessness has improved. I can walk around without being tired around the house and do some cleaning and cooking. Hoping for more recovery in a week. It does End.

ofwarren · 02/04/2020 19:07

Just noticed I have sores up my nose. Nice!
Breathless again this afternoon. The time between the symptoms is getting longer though.

stayathomegardener · 02/04/2020 19:12

@tangledyarn your kind words mean so much. Thanks
I do feel very hypocritical as I'm so much better now and others on this thread feel so much worse but it's hard sometimes to control the what ifs.

What if I get worse/never get better.

I just feel mentally fragile right now and that's not me normally.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 19:15

glad to hear lots of people past two week mark are feeling noticeably better.

I have got a fever again - low grade - and when I was walking around I felt slight ache in my left flank. Worried i might have a kidney infection now too! I have been on antibiotics but for chest infection. What kind of signs should I be watching out for? I remember someone on the previous thread was prescribed antibiotics for kidney infection.

TheDrsWife46 · 02/04/2020 19:31

@Gogoberry what a great video, not only did it give me a tool to calm DD down but the fact he says it cant replace the oximeter was good because then my mind says “ah and my oximeter is good too” double whammy.

GidgetGirl · 02/04/2020 19:35

There was me feeling all smug because at day 12 I’d felt pretty good for a couple of days - and now I’m laid up with a fever. Great..

TheDrsWife46 · 02/04/2020 19:37

Oh dog @GidgetGirl dont, its the fever and chills that tip me into hysteria I cant cope with the burning, prickling, cramping etc. Im on day 11

GidgetGirl · 02/04/2020 19:40

It’s a low grade fever thankfully @TheDrsWife46 but they’re never fun, are they.. and I’m counting from the day I first felt slightly feverish/fluey - my cough and chest issues only started about 4 days ago.

findingschools4myboys · 02/04/2020 19:41

Just heads up that the clinic I ordered test from (which they weren’t able to provide) you can now get an antibody test from them. I am pretty sure it’s not government approved though. I have booked myself and hubby in for in 2 weeks time as then will be 5 weeks since beginning of symptoms so should have enough antibodies by then.
You can request it in the post and do at home or go into the lab and have it done by a nurse. Finger prick test that takes 15 min. Lab is in London.

TheDrsWife46 · 02/04/2020 19:43

Whats the clinic @findingschools4myboys would like to look at the info.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 02/04/2020 19:44

Well my temp is back up at 37.7 so that's officially 21 days of fever in a row.

Spacecadetagain · 02/04/2020 19:55

@baroqueandblue We were saying on the previous thread that we wonder if it might cause Costochondritis.. that’s really painful .

OP posts:
hollieberrie · 02/04/2020 19:58

@ofwarren I have sores inside my nose too! Really odd.

I've also lost all sense of taste and smell - even though i am on day 20, this is a new symptom. I can't smell my olbas oil at all. I even bleached the loo and took a sniff - nothing!

Thanks @tangledyarn - hope youre ok. My bed is also sweaty and gross! Miiiiight try and change bedding tomorrow if i feel up to it.

ofwarren · 02/04/2020 20:02

@Hollieberrie
You lost your sense of smell and taste on day 20??
That is so strange.
This virus is the weirdest thing!

findingschools4myboys · 02/04/2020 20:06

@TheDrsWife46
privateharleystreetclinic.com/

I hope you are going to feel better soon!

@hollieberrie
My sense of smell and taste also disappeared later on. Not as late as day 20 but probably about day 10-17

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 20:07

@stayathomegardener You needn't feel bad, we are all struggling in different ways and as well as feeling unwell we've got all the anxiety that comes with being in a really dreadful pandemic as well. Hang in there I'm sure we'll get there, I think its very unlikely we'll become medically very unwell now, it's just a long time to feel very poorly for isn't it Flowers

hollieberrie · 02/04/2020 20:07

@ofwarren I know, so weird!!! I seem to have had this new wave of symptoms and fever which started on day 18. Yesterday and the day before were pretty much the worst I've felt. This afternoon i feel a bit better so lets hope its upward from here.
Hows your breathlessness?

everythingisginandroses · 02/04/2020 20:08

Day 17. I am still running a low-grade fever and really fed up with it, feeling sorry for myself. Can anyone give me a kick up the arse some encouragement?

hollieberrie · 02/04/2020 20:11

Oh that's reassuring to hear @findingschools4myboys Has it come back now? Its a bit disconcerting. Although i'll definitely take it over the chills and shakes.
