I’ve just seen reports on Twitter that some parents are telling their kids school has started again, seeing them get excited....and then telling them ‘april Fool!’ .....and videoing their distress and posting on Facebook for LOLS.

This is really upsetting me. I can’t believe people would be so cruel.

I am not sure I believe these stories. Has anyone seen these posts?

If there are people taking it to the extreme, walking their kids to school and doing what you describe then yes I agree that's too far.

The one my friend sent me was just that.

And she's really nice Confused

I'm not on Facebook much and usually follow stuff like politics and gardening so don't get all this shite I hear about on here. She watapped it to me. Loads of others on here seen similar.

I don't get it. Were loads of people always arseholes or has this Corona situation driven people mad?

Someone I vaguely know did this and i’ll never see her in the same light again. She posted the video on Facebook of her ds 10 ready in his uniform. He was in tears when he realised he wasn’t going to see his friends and teachers. Such a cruel thing to do to a child.

BeetrootRocks · 02/04/2020 21:15

I don't understand it tbh.

Is this people losing the plot because of Corona, or were lots of people horrible and no one knew?

It’s an April’s Fools Joke

The kid I saw (10/11yo boy) was pissed at having to go to school As his sibling wasn’t & having to walk because the car wasn’t working. When they said ‘April Fools’ he thought it with amazingly good grace & said he thought it was a brilliant joke!

FGS know your audience!! They didn’t include the other one as they knew the sibling would not have taken it well.

Cruel if it woukd genuinely upset your child though.

^This! My DH does this sort of thing but our DDs know him and love April fool jokes so they laugh too and tell their own.

It's only a joke if everyone finds it funny. Laughing at your children's tears and posting it on Facebook for LOLs is simply nasty and playground bully territory.
