Conspiracy - where is the queen?

Greybutterfly · 27/03/2020 22:18

Is it just me or has anyone else been wondering where the queen has been in all of this?

This is the biggest crisis she has faced under her reign and yet she has not appeared to offer and support, encouragement or condolences.

To me this is highly disrespectful or is there another reason she is unavailable ... is she herself suffering from the virus or could she have passed away and we are being shelved from the truth?

This post from @CassieAulait hasn’t received the reaction it deserves, so here it is again

*Haha the Queen’s Corona Speech on Zoom:

Hello, hello...., can you hear me? Yes I can hear you but I can’t see you.

Click on the little camera picture! Oooh , I can see you.., haha, nice curtains, ooops, I can’t hear you, can you hear me?

Aaarghh, oh dear sorry. Corgi, no not ‘Corvid ’ , ‘CORGI’.

What? Oops, sorry I just clicked on the ‘rotate button’ by accident, one isn’t actually upside down. Sorry, I was saying, “I HAVE CORGIS”

No.... do not print that, “corgis, dogs with short legs, NOT CORVID”*

😂😂😂

We keep getting told she is going to do a short televised statement, but it never happens.
I know it is fashionable here to mock those of us who care about what the ueen says, but yes to many this would make a difference.

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2020 08:53

Where have they said she would do a televised statement?

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:00

Mainstream press.

HoffiCoffi13 · 28/03/2020 09:05

If she does do a televised statement, it will be when things are much worse than they are now (and they will get a lot worse before they get better). We are only 5 days into lockdown measures, there’s a long way to go yet. She will need to time it right.

maralough · 28/03/2020 09:06

She may have been active and busy but she's doing what we would want other 93 year olds to do, and staying at home. My neighbours in their mid 80s are some of the busiest people I know but they're staying indoors. And I'm very glad they are being so sensible.

HoffiCoffi13 · 28/03/2020 09:07

I was also pretty busy and active a few weeks ago, and now I’m not. She, like everyone else should be, is following the advice to stay at home.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:08

She can stay at home and do a short televised statement.

AnneJeanne · 28/03/2020 09:09

Sounds like the OP hopes there’s something secretive going on and she’s going to be the one to figure it out and expose the Queen. Lol!

HoffiCoffi13 · 28/03/2020 09:10

She can stay at home and do a short televised statement

And maybe she will, when the time is right. We are only a few days into what is going to be a very long road. There is no sense in doing it now. Save it for 2 months time when everyone has ‘lockdown fatigue’.

A televised statement? So cameras, people to hold them. Potentially infecting an elderly person. Just so the op & a few others can see the Queen. She gave a statement last week. William has also made a statement I think. He with Kate went on a visit somewhere (can’t remember where).

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 28/03/2020 09:25

Her job is “avoiding getting involved” so she is happily ignoring all the country until the crisis is over and then she can come to give us all a 5 minutes verbal path on the back for pulling together and being so strong.

Alternatively, she has died, the recent photos of her are archive photos (look at that phone!) and they don’t want to release the news not to distract of this crisis even when that would be quite sobering.

... Someway I seem to prefer the idea that she can’t help because she is gone than imagine her taking a Nice time out when the country is falling to pieces.

Haffiana · 28/03/2020 09:32

Russian or Daily Mail journalist.

Which one are you, OP?

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2020 09:34

Would you want tv cameras prompters make up artist etc etc in a local care home ? The queen is elderly what can she say on film to make us feel better ?

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:44

You can film from a very long distance. People would understand if quality is much poorer.
And William should be much more visible. Even Charles if he really only does have it mildly.
Its not about one televised interview and bugger all else. They should be visible as a family while still shielding them. They have a job to do.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:46

This thread is full of people who don't care what the royal family say. I and many others do.

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2020 09:52

Considering royality has been cut back to 3 families and 2 are over 70 it is left tothe cambridges to "boost morale" they had their under 8s clapping on Thursday is that not enough?

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2020 09:54

I care about the Queen I just don't neeed her to say anything to soothe me.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:56

@mrsjayy That was great to see. But no it is not enough from people in a key role with a job to do. They want to be members of the royal family they have to accept they have a job to do. Its not all garden parties and attending events.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 09:57

Anyway most of you don't even care. Those like me who do, will have less support for them if they continue to ignore what their role is in times of national crisis.

JemimaPuddleCat · 28/03/2020 09:58

Do we really expect Queenie to give us a quick selfie vid from her bedroom? In her PJs?
A 93 year old woman likely needs a high level of personal care, on any given day. I do not imagine that she would be capable of doing her own hair and makeup, or possibly even getting bathed and dressed. I dont think it would be beneficial to anyone to see her in the less than polished state she normally appears in public.

If she's following the same guidelines as everyone else her age group, she won't have access to the people who would usually help her to look that way.

playthestation · 28/03/2020 10:07

The Queen, popping her head out of whatever expensive property she is living at, with full staff and no issues obtaining food, to give a patronising talk would be nothing more than a kick in the teeth to every single person who had just lost their job, their wage, their life.

Fuck that. Over privileged twats, the lot of them.
