Conspiracy - where is the queen?

Greybutterfly · 27/03/2020 22:18

Is it just me or has anyone else been wondering where the queen has been in all of this?

This is the biggest crisis she has faced under her reign and yet she has not appeared to offer and support, encouragement or condolences.

To me this is highly disrespectful or is there another reason she is unavailable ... is she herself suffering from the virus or could she have passed away and we are being shelved from the truth?

It's perfectly feasible that she could be ill and we wouldn't know, I think a lot has been covered up to stop panic.

The Prime Minister and our future king have both got it. I think that ship has sailed!

tempester28 · 27/03/2020 22:55

Her age puts her well into the group of people who should be keeping her distance from others.

Mimishimi · 27/03/2020 22:55

She knows what military measures are going to be taken and doesn't agree with them.

donquixotedelamancha · 27/03/2020 22:59

I don't believe those two do have it. I think the government are just saying that to cheer us all up.

JanewaysBun · 27/03/2020 23:08

Maybe she should do an Insta story? I feel like she is probably quite tech savvy!

HerRoyalNotness · 27/03/2020 23:14

@donquixotedelamancha. Well your comment cheered me right up, so thanks! Grin

Greybutterfly · 27/03/2020 23:20

I still believe that more should be being done in this climate. A simple statement saying the queen is in good health does not cut it. There should be continuous praise for the nhs and the country as a whole.

She has not been seen in weeks and has been around infected individuals. I appreciate that she is isolating as she should be but that should be said as it may encourage others to follow in her footsteps.

She has always been an extremely active, busy lady and to suddenly go from that to nothing is odd. Why is a personal message from her not even being read out?

OP posts:
PatchworkElmer · 27/03/2020 23:22

I think she’s self isolating- can’t bring a film crew in, can they. I suspect she’ll do an address in a couple of weeks though, when this situation is more embedded and politicians have firmly established the way forwards. She has released a statement though- she’s not disappeared.

JemimaPuddleCat · 27/03/2020 23:24

S'alright, I facetimed her over a cheeky glass of sherry just this evening.

Hmm

I'm not convinced either. I'm wondering if it's an attempt to make the Prime Minister and the future Head of State appear human.

pingbloodyping · 27/03/2020 23:27

Reality - who cares? You know who else I’m ‘wondering’ about? The Khardashians.

pingbloodyping · 27/03/2020 23:29

‘She knows what military measures are going to be taken and doesn't agree with them’

30 years of conflict in Northern Ireland and she was fine with what they got up to there. I don’t think that’s what she’s worried about.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/03/2020 23:30

She has gone to Windsor, but is still in touch with what is going on (though differently to normal - talking to BoJo on the phone rather than seeing him for the weekly audience, for example).

And apparently she does intend to make some sort of address to the nation, but wants to do it when it will do the most good. She will be taking advice on this, and will do her best to pick the right time, but whatever she does, she is never going to please everyone.

GoFiguire · 27/03/2020 23:33

Are you insinuating that not all is well in the house of Windsor OP? Hmm

Mrsjayy · 27/03/2020 23:34

What do you want a 93year old to do ? She is self isolating like every other over 70 is supposed to do she released s statement fgs.

Charley50 · 27/03/2020 23:36

Boris has probably pulled a sickie just like I would have done; it's no coincidence that his 6 month probation period is just up, so he'll get full sick pay and can't just be let go.

HM - she is incredibly old. She doesn't need a film crew as PPs have suggests; Zoom would do fine, but she probably just wants to ride this one out. I agree though, that her silence makes the RF less relevant then they already were.

CassieAuLait · 27/03/2020 23:37

Maybe she should do an Insta story? I feel like she is probably quite tech savvy

Not judging by the ancient phone she was shown speaking to Boris on.

inwood · 27/03/2020 23:38

Doesn't the monarchy have to leave it to government in times of crisis, she can't be seen to interfere.

Regardless she's 94 ffs, would you want you granny or great granny around a film cre right now?

MysticMeghan · 27/03/2020 23:39

I also heard she had gone to Windsor, but in a photo of Buckingham Palace posted on the BBC website yesterday, claiming to be taken yesterday, it showed the Royal Standard flying. Technically, it should only be flying if she is in residence. Maybe the person who looks after these things is in self isolation too.....[hmmm]

Mrsjayy · 27/03/2020 23:41

The little gtgrand children did the clapping yesterday would you have wanted her maj to join in on her balcony? Just to show her support

CassieAuLait · 27/03/2020 23:45

Haha the Queen’s Corona Speech on Zoom:

Hello, hello...., can you hear me? Yes I can hear you but I can’t see you.

Click on the little camera picture! Oooh , I can see you.., haha, nice curtains, ooops, I can’t hear you, can you hear me?

Aaarghh, oh dear sorry. Corgi, no not ‘Corvid ’ , ‘CORGI’.

What? Oops, sorry I just clicked on the ‘rotate button’ by accident, one isn’t actually upside down. Sorry, I was saying, “I HAVE CORGIS”

No.... do not print that, “corgis, dogs with short legs, NOT CORVID”

Mothership4two · 27/03/2020 23:52

She has always been an extremely active, busy lady and to suddenly go from that to nothing is odd.

Almost as though there is a global pandemic going on

I take your point about a personal message and maybe she will - I personally don't think it is necessary at the moment as we know she is self isolating. I have got other things to worry about tbh. But @RoyalFamily are regularly tweeting and the photo of her talking to BJ was probably to show she is keeping safe, not ill and is getting on with work imo.

misskick · 27/03/2020 23:53

I do feel sorry for the queen for the backlash she is receiving, she is clearly classed as very vulnerable due to her age. Her son has a confirmed case so it's a risk to the royals as much as the public, why should she endanger herself.

Daffodil101 · 27/03/2020 23:53

She texted me earlier. Fucking raging that McDonald’s is closed - hasn’t eaten breakfast in a week. Has been passing the time completing jigsaws of the British Empire. Did a 1000 piece today before remembering that the Hong Kong piece has been missing since 2007. Went to bed with the right hump.

Mothership4two · 27/03/2020 23:54

@MysticMeghan

Maybe BBC library image?
