Conspiracy - where is the queen?

147 replies

Greybutterfly · 27/03/2020 22:18

Is it just me or has anyone else been wondering where the queen has been in all of this?

This is the biggest crisis she has faced under her reign and yet she has not appeared to offer and support, encouragement or condolences.

To me this is highly disrespectful or is there another reason she is unavailable ... is she herself suffering from the virus or could she have passed away and we are being shelved from the truth?

OP posts:

😂😂😂

NeedToKnow101 · 27/03/2020 23:56

That was to Daffodil

@Mothership4two

If BBC library image then where were all the people? The article was something like "Buckingham Palace two weeks ago" (loads of tourists) "Buckingham Palace today" (empty roads)

IronNeonClasp · 27/03/2020 23:58

@donquixotedelamancha Grin

Mothership4two · 28/03/2020 00:06

That was a suggestion Mystic. I don't know.

Just found on BBC website that she did give a message to the Nation on the 17th. In answer to OP's 'where is the Queen in all this?'

She's following the government advice to self isolate in view of her and her husband's age and state of health. There's plenty of people on this forum having a go at others for not following the advice, well, she is following it.

She has released a written statement and I'm not sure what else she could say in a televised broadcast that would actually be useful or helpful right now. The most useful thing she can do is protect herself so that the nation doesn't have to deal with the death of a sovereign as well as a pandemic. There will be a time when a televised address will be appropriate, but now isn't the right time.

Mothership4two · 28/03/2020 00:11

@MysticMeghan

Think I found the page and that looks like the Union Jack to me. It's hard to tell, but that makes sense

MysticMeghan · 28/03/2020 00:19

@Mothership4two

Aha! I'm looking on a laptop now and I think you're right.

I've been thinking for ages that I probably ought to get a new phone. The screen is crap and you can't enlarge things properly. Plus I can get a new phone on an extended contract for only £1 more than I am paying now if I reduce my data. Let's face it, if we can't go out I'm not going to be using loads of data am I?

All of the mobile shops have shut, but there's an app on my phone allows me to renew my contract and select a new phone online and I think they're still delivering.

Mothership4two · 28/03/2020 00:27

@MysticMeghan

My computer is pretty old and picture of flag is grainy, so I wasn't 100% sure. It's making weird noises so I am keeping everything crossed that it doesn't die on me as I would be stuffed. My phone is so old it predates apps!

Would have been an interesting conspiracy theory though!

playthestation · 28/03/2020 00:31

Why is a personal message from her not even being read out?

It was. Last week.

Iamthewombat · 28/03/2020 00:33

Or maybe she should do it selfie like on her phone?

Please do this, queenie. Wobbly focus and all.

I think she’s in suspended animation somewhere. In a cupboard in Windsor castle or something.

MintyMabel · 28/03/2020 00:34

What good would it do? You think people who aren’t following the rules will start to do so? Will the Queen saying “well done NHS” add much more to all that clapping and the gazillions of SM posts gushing about how wonderful the NHS are? The Cambridges posted instas of them clapping, isn’t that enough or do you need to see a nonagenarian Royal do it too?

Or is this just another thing folks want to twist the knife in for?

Josette77 · 28/03/2020 00:40

She did release a statement a week ago. What are you wanting?

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 00:41

OP I agree but got ridiculed on here for saying the same thing a few days ago.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 00:44

The Royals in general are really not supporting the nation during this crisis. I am disappointed.

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/03/2020 00:55

She's old. Her husband is ill. She sent out a message. Her children and grandchildren publicly supported the NHS clapping thing.
Would you want your 90 odd year old relative mingling with people?

Personally I hope she is at home, sipping
Port and lemon binge watching The Crown

bigyellowduck · 28/03/2020 00:56

Surely you are not daring to criticise William and Kate for going to their second home are you ? After their children clapped for the nhs (From Norfolk)

Shame on you

OneHanded · 28/03/2020 00:59

Yes you’re fucking unreasonable and then some.

alloutoffucks · 28/03/2020 01:02

Yes William should be doing much more

mindproject · 28/03/2020 01:05

She's probably just sitting at home, high on adrenochrome, like all the other rich people Grin. Or in a bunker surrounded by spam.

Apocalips · 28/03/2020 01:06

She really should make an effort to see us. It would means so much to so many people to see her face and hear her speak.

starlightgazers · 28/03/2020 01:06

Popcorn....
That has really made me laugh Grin

bigyellowduck · 28/03/2020 01:09

Yes William should be doing much more

He has buggered off to his second home in another part of the country. What else do you want him to do? Try and visit every royal residence and risk taking covid19 with him to yet another county. The poor chap has done his bit surely by trying to infect Norfolk- luckily his family are helping him with Scotland

Patsypie · 28/03/2020 01:10

Just read that's she's got it

playthestation · 28/03/2020 01:12
