@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

OP posts:
Freshairimportanttoo · 29/03/2020 17:08

I have lost smell and taste
After nearly a week its vaguely returning.

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 17:09

@pinkoneblueone: you asked a couple of pages back if anyone had had a cough returning on day 19. I was smugly assuming I was better after two days up and beautifully clear chest this morning but now I have a slightly different cough - high in chest and wheezy at times. More tightness around bra band area - last had that a good few days ago. Back in bed and cursing.

EMichel102 · 29/03/2020 17:25

@SchrodingersKitty oh no hopefully it’ll clear quickly. How frustrating for you on Day 19! Are you feeling ok otherwise? Energy levels etc.

I was feeling slightly more myself earlier today (well relative to feeling absolutely awful) but the tremors / yucky viral feeling comes back at 5ish most days I find and then stays for the night :(

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 17:34

@SchrodingersKitty I have serious anxiety issues so I need to check or I will drive myself round the bend with worry. What day are you on? Our cough seems to be different too and the chest pain is back. I have the nervous shakes again.

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 17:36

Day 19 for me too.

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 17:39

You have filled me with relief if I'm honest I know it sucks but I also know I'm not alone and it's mildly reassuring

tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 17:42

I'm on day 22. I am getting better but its definitely not linear and I still have a lot of symptoms/feel unwell. As much as I wanted to feel better a week ago I think it can be a very long illness and recovery can take a lot of time xxx

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 17:46

Have you been out at all in your time @SchrodingersKitty?

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 17:47

@tangledyarn thank you for keeping is posted o hope we all feel better soon!

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 17:49

@pinkoneblueone: no - apart from wondering into the garden occasionally.

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 17:49

Wandering! Even my spelling’s going.

Meercatmama · 29/03/2020 17:53

Hi Day 14 for me I decided to do it different today and have rested all day and not pushed myself to do things and I have found that has helped. I have also slept when I have felt tired. I actually feel a bit better now and did not have that massive afternoon slump just some pains in my chest. Actually can smell things a bit now and starting to get my appetite back. Starting to feel better and will now listen to what my body is telling me more but know that tomorrow will probably back one step

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 17:57

I am feeling a bit breathless again. Are you @SchrodingersKitty?

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 18:02

@pinkoneblueone: I was before I went to bed. Hot mint tea and a hot water bottle high up on my back are helping. Do try and relax:- we’ve made it this far. Lots of people have said it can take 3 weeks at least to recover and five weeks before feeling back to normal.

CourtneyB123 · 29/03/2020 18:02

Hey if you're feeling sick try tiny bits of fruit, dry biscuits just anything to keep your energy levels up. I've only just got my appetite back for the second day after a week of barely eating. Anything sugary, just go for it do what you can

FabulouslyElegantTits · 29/03/2020 18:05

I'm on day 5 or 6, was feeling much better (still in bed but but able to watch a bit of TV and Mumsnet!) but this afternoon I've felt headachy and chesty and exhausted.

I really hope I'm not going to hit that 6 day relapse that some of you have had.

Keep on improving folks

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 18:06

Thank you we've been doing hot drinks of honey, lemon and ginger. We are both sick and my kids are here too my 11 year old has a cough currently.

UnionistMum · 29/03/2020 18:17

Can I join you guys?
I’m a bit worried.
Sore throat(not too bad), feeling a bit dizzy/lightheaded and have been to the toilet more than usual( although this last one could be due to my period starting today)
How do I cope with the unknown?
Plus I have a 2year old . How do I keep her safe.
Sorry if I sound a bit negative

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 18:19

Even though I continue to improve, I'm day 18 with just chest pains, face flushing and fatigue at the moment I managed to have what must have been a panic attack this afternoon.

My Mum with dementia six hours away, the possibility my DD and DH may pick this up, the health of the adopted lady in her 80's who is now with us, the potential for not recovering myself, the now precarious state of our business, money in general, potential lack of food, the ailments of both dogs, world economy and the pandemic in general!
I also did a little bit of googling; not again.

I know I'm not unique but am amazed how this really hit me today.

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 18:25

Sorry I'm not keeping up with the thread very well.

Having a minor panic. I am feeling very nauseous. Not actually been sick, but I can see it happening soon. Have anyone else vomited?

I have also got some dull pains in my lower back/ sides. Around where my kidneys are (I am drinking plenty of water). But I have just freaked myself out reading about how CV attacks the kidneys.

I am hoping it would be unlikely to have had it for this long and suddenly take a very big turn for the worse? Appreciate it's a little unfair, but hoping for some reasurance!

Ellapaella · 29/03/2020 18:25

Can I just put my symptoms here to see if anyone is the same?
On the 13th March I woke up with a tight 'scratchy' feeling in my chest. I was aware of it all day. For the next 3 days I had a fairly persistent dry cough - chest still tight but otherwise felt absolutely fine.
Roll forward 13 days of just that irritated tight chest and very occasional cough on Wednesday I suddenly began to feel mildly feverish and exhausted. My cheeks were flushed and I developed a headache and kept getting vertigo. I had to spend the rest of the day in bed.
The next day felt much better, still tight chested and occasional cough - feels like breathing in sandpaper. Headache lasted 48 hours and I had a day where I had no appetite at all.
4 days after that (now) my chest is the same, occasional dry cough. Today I've been having chills - not like a fever but just very now and then feeling suddenly icy cold.
My husband is having exactly the same as me and because he is a doctor he got a test today so we will know in about 3 days time.
I think we are both hoping it is as we seem to having quite a mild case - I will be a bit gutted if the test comes back negative!
Neither of us have had a loss of taste or smell but my mouth feels dry and scratchy and my tongue is a little sore.

Sending best wishes to all of you and hope you all get better soon, it's so nice to have this thread.

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 18:27

Not negative at all unionistmum it is very daunting.

Lots of fluids, heat; sweat it out/hot drinks, rest, rest and more rest. Oh and avoid the news.

Children seem to get it very mildly fortunately, do you have any support with your child so you can rest?

longshot · 29/03/2020 18:28

@KinderWild what day are you on? I had side pains in my back a few days ago maybe day 16 or so? I’m day 19 now and now they seem to have gone.

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 18:32

Hi @longshot, unsure, I think around 4 weeks in? but i went back to 'normal' level of activity after 2 weeks which wiped me out and probably means my day count is off.
It's awful to think that you have side pain reassures me, but it does - so sorry.
I have also developed a nasty taste in my mouth just today.

@ unionistmum I'd add to @ posterstayathomegardener's excellent list, no ibuprofen, paracetamol instead. And vitamin c if you have it. My little boy is 4 and have been around it from me and his dad before we realised what was going on. He's had a snotty nose and been a bit cold but seems okay. xxx

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 18:32

Definitely lower back/kidney pain earlier day 10ish but that's gone now.

Not had the cough or vertigo but yes to everything else @Ellapaella the face flushing is distinctively odd.

Your DH test results will be interesting.
