@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

@mellowmelly . I remember having it after pnuemonia and it was very debilitating..There’s no point ringing 111 today as I wouldn’t get antibiotics anyway so I’ll just have to hang on until tomorrow

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 14:16

@baroqueandblue the dreams yes so vivid and I can never remember dreams normally!

@CourtneyB123: I'm counting from first symptom which was odd sore throat on 11 March. Things got worse for me around day 7/8 which seems to be a fairly common experience.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 14:19

@IpanemaGallina If you can bear to read back over the thread you’ll see that it was that those shakes/shivers was what petrified me and caused me to call 111 and the GP.

notangelinajolie · 29/03/2020 14:20

@longshot agree re getting tested, the Gov really need to get a move on with this Flowers

Love to all.

Littleninja1 · 29/03/2020 14:26

@cathyandclare your daughter sounds like how mine started. I felt totally exhausted one day and the next day woke up with tight chest and breathlessness. I didn't have any of the supposed earlier symptoms. The breathlessness got worse and the chest pain has gone on a big journey! Am still in bed, 17 days from developing the tight chest. Tell your daughter to rest and not trust feeling better. Take paracetamol every four hours, drink lots of water. If she struggles to breath then standing and bending forward with hands on knees helps. Lying flat on stomach in bed also helps and much better than on back.

Hope she's well soon.

Lovelesslily · 29/03/2020 14:32

Day 8 (or maybe 10) for me ... didn't check in yesterday as decided to step away from the internet and try and calm down. Had another high fever spike and the shaking/shivers. Had no appetite at all.

Today feeling much better so far in myself but just still very breathless if doing anything other than sitting/laying in bed. Chest pain is there but not too bad, more like a stitch unless again I strain myself.
Arms also feeling very heavy today like it's an effort to hold my phone.

Keep going everyone!

Littleninja1 · 29/03/2020 14:33

@KingaRoo thanks for posting your result. Since this thread is so huge now, would you mind summarising your symptoms? Also, what day were you swabbed? And how long were you unwell for?

Sorry, all the questions!

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 14:33

I think we have had something similar you have just eased my worries if that comment was for me. Thank you

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 14:34

I wasn't planning on calling about it as we are ok but I was worried I may have picked up the virus while picking my prescription up the other day.

IpanemaGallina · 29/03/2020 14:37

@TheDrsWife46 thank you I’ve been skim reading most of thread. It’s the most awful I’ve ever felt..

littlemissmuffins · 29/03/2020 14:42

This is so weird. I've no idea if I have it or not.

Last time I was potentially exposed was 11 days ago.

2 days after the potential exposure, I felt really exhausted and slept for 2 days. Also had bad headaches.

I then got a weird sore throat that mainly is just when I eat. Still there.

A few days in started with chest pains and tightness. they are less now.

Also every time I even move for the past week, I'm getting heart thumping and dizziness, which is scaring me.

Mild headache today.

Thermometer all over the place, says 37.8 then seconds later 37.5 then seconds later 37.1

Has anyone else had it been like this, or had the heart thumping dizzy thing??

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 14:48

Bloody chest pain is back. It's day 20 and I'm getting mighty cheesed off at these returning symptoms 😥

lilsimbax · 29/03/2020 14:48

I’ve been reading this with interest as I developed symptoms about a week ago but only really noticed it was possibly Covid19 on Tuesday when the body aches joined the high fever. Has anyone else lost their sense of taste and smell? My taste and smell both totally disappeared yesterday morning and no indications of them returning yet 😔.

Biscusting · 29/03/2020 14:49

Just found this thread but haven’t had the time to read the full thing. Wondering if anyone can give me their thoughts,

I’ve had a sore head, very sore throat, following by diarrhoea (sorry gross) for 24 hours.

Then mild infrequent dry cough (due to throat mostly) sneezing, runny rose now, exhaustion after four days.

I don’t have a fever or anything, although my daughter developed a fever and dry cough, but was fine after two days!

Do the symptoms have to include a fever and dry cough? So confused

lilsimbax · 29/03/2020 14:51

@littlemissmuffins. Yes I had the hearth thumping dizzy spells. My day 1 of this illness was around Tuesday and I’ve had the dizzy spells most days, joy!

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 14:52

@littlemissmuffins. I've had the heart thumping dizzy, I'd say in the first 1-2 weeks. Really unpleasant. Couldn't stand for long, had to sit down, but even then felt motion.

littlemissmuffins · 29/03/2020 14:55

lilsimbax and KinderWild would you mind telling me what days your on and how your symptoms progressed?? xx

cathyandclare · 29/03/2020 14:56

@Casino218, hoping you're on the road to recovery soon, it sounds horrible. Many thanks for the pulse oximetry advice.

@Littleninja1, thanks for letting me know, that's reassuring. I've tod her your breathing tips. She's practising nasal breathing and deep breathing exercises as per the research too.

Moonbaby321 · 29/03/2020 14:58

@lilsimbax yes taste and smell disappearing is a symptom many have had. Not me yet but my DH who yesterday didn't believe me now thinks he has it too because he can't smell or taste anything

I felt much better this morning but suddenly felt very sick and dizzy and rushed to the toilet for another wonder bout of the shits.

Fantastic! Hmm

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 15:02

That's so frustrating @Casino218 , does anyone have any information on the recovery curve from those in China in similar circumstances?

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 15:02

@littlemissmuffins

I can't be sure on days. As when i first got this i thought it was the after effects of a general anaesthetic. Also I had around 2 weeks of feeling like hell, the worst i have ever felt in my life. During this time my blood pressure when sky high and have since come down. I then felt okay ish - still tired and burning lungs, but my DH then got a cough and temp (classic symptoms) and my son had chickenpox. I looked after them for a week, and then knackered I got the cough. Along with still burning lungs and chest pain and horrible chills. I've had the cough for 10 days or so. And so the doc has given me antibiotics. My DH has had chills also and we've both had bad stomachs.

lilsimbax · 29/03/2020 15:06

@littlemissmuffins I think I am on day 6 today. I felt a bit off on Monday and kept getting a random burning face and temp, then freezing and shivers but I ignored it thinking it was probably just a slight cold. By Tuesday evening I got body aches, fever still up and down, bit of a sore ish throat but nothing major, slight headache for Tuesday and Wednesday, dizzyness, breathless and exhaustion when I walk up the stairs or do too much. Paracetamol helped all this. I’ve had a cough the entire time but as I suffer with silent reflux anyway, I’d be coughing regardless. The body aches have eased over the past couple of days and temperature has got better too. This lack of taste and smell thing only joined the party yesterday and is annoying on top of everything else. Looks like I could be in for a long ride judging by all the other accounts on here 😔 urrrrrgggghhh

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 15:07

@littlemissmuffins
Just read that back and not sure it made total sense.

I can't be sure on days. As when i first got this i thought it was the after effects of a general anaesthetic.

I had around 2 weeks of feeling like hell, the worst i have ever felt in my life. Lungs burning. Confusion, dizziness, feeling like I couldn't hold onto a single thought for a minute. Crushing chest pain. During this time my blood pressure went sky high.

Although mine is pain and feeling like i want to vomit. Lovely!

PoorlyWeasels · 29/03/2020 15:08

Casino218 I wasn't able to reply on the other thread, but DH and DS work nights in the supermarket when no-one else is there. When I told him to stay at home he nearly bit my head off, so nothing I can do. Neither of them have so much as a sniffle.
