@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

@Porcuphine it’s 38. Feels much higher. I guess it’s the out of controlled dizziness and disorientation combined with shakes and shivers I’m finding almost unbearable.

Also because I’m so worn out form lack of food and sleep my body might struggle more.

absolutelyknackeredcow · 29/03/2020 13:41

Can I ask advice ..
Started to feel bad Wednesday night
Shivers sore throat banging headache
And chest pain shortness of breath
Very mild really didn't feel v ill
One day had temp others not
Husband had a few of symptoms
DD had a headache and temp one evening and then was right as rain.
I felt much better yesterday but this morning have burning lungs and real exhaustion.
Is this normal

absolutelyknackeredcow · 29/03/2020 13:41

Should add no cough at all

user34254356 · 29/03/2020 13:42

@notangeliajolie i had the same after emptying the dishwasher yesterday. My DH is the same, thinks i should be running around now and i don't have a positive mental attitude!

notangelinajolie · 29/03/2020 13:45

Of course she could have been asymptomatic in the earlier stages and this is her day 8

@cathyandclare, yes this. I had a slight tickle in my throat for days before my fever and breathless feeling. I had barely registered it and wouldn't have put it down to CV.

notangelinajolie · 29/03/2020 13:52

Yep user34254356 DD is now joining in - I have an air of negativity.

Told her I'd settle for any air right now.

Porcupineinwaiting · 29/03/2020 13:53

@IpanemaGallina have you had some paracetamol? That might help. Do try and eat something, even if you are just sipping soup or bovril. Sorry you are feeling so rubbish (I am too an have just indulged in a bout if self pity).

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 13:54

@cathyandclare try not to stress. Yes I'm day 20 and 53 years old . I got breathless too. I think many of us did on here. Is she breathless at rest? Is she coughing up any phlegm?

OP posts:
notangelinajolie · 29/03/2020 13:56

A lilo. This is not me.

longshot · 29/03/2020 13:58

@notangelinajolie I’m the same, feel like I have vertigo but at times definitely feeling a bit better than worse again. Odd. Chest pain persists and is annoying although if I sit doing nothing it’s no longer there which is something. I do a lot of sitting doing nothing.

I have no idea if this is CV. I don’t really care tbh I just want to get better. Based on three Drs telling it it probably is I believe that BUT I can’t help feeling angry that if it isn’t I haven’t been tested and may well need some other sort of treatment for the issues I’ve got.

At what point can I go back to the normal GP? Anyone know that? Technically I could have been out of isolation 11 days ago which is an absolute joke! I still barely feel well enough to shower let alone go shopping!

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 13:58

That's a really helpful avoiding @MellowMelly thank you. Take care x

TheOwlandThe · 29/03/2020 13:58

I'm on day 15 since very first symptoms.

Yesterday I felt completely fine. Today tried to the shops for the first time and I am now so tired and breathless, I didn't realise how tired I was. Got to the end of my drive and had to turn back! Everything is just exhausting me.

It takes me all day to recover from something minor. I'm not really coughing anymore but fuck me I'm so tired. And keep getting waves of vertigo. I'm finding the vertigo and breathlessness quite scary, I don't mind being ill but I don't like this feeling.

I can feel my heart all the time as well. It's beating fast and also a bit irregular.

I haven't had a fever really at all, the most I got to was 37.5 and that was nearly 2 weeks ago now. Not sure if what I had was coronavirus but can't really think what else it could be. It's definitely something respiratory not flu. I had breathlessness, chest and back pain, pain on breathing, dry cough from my lungs. Basically all my symptoms have been respiratory.

I did have a sore throat and felt tired and dizzy to start with. And actually had one episode of diaorrhea which Id completely forgotten about till today. But other than that it's all been in my lungs.

Am supposed to be going back to work tomorrow but don't think I'm up to it. Will look like such a hypochondriac though if this turns out not to be it!

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 13:58

Account not avoiding!

IpanemaGallina · 29/03/2020 13:59

@Porcupineinwaiting thank you going to try some marmite tea. Trying not to get upset, I’m usually quite positive. Hope you feel better soon

cathyandclare · 29/03/2020 14:00

Thanks so much for replies. No breathlessness at rest, no phlegm, no fever and thankfully no underlying conditions. I've ordered a pulse oximeter, which is lurking somewhere with Hermes.

I'm keeping calm-ish, just wish she was home. She has great flatmates though, and she's a sensible girl.

Needsomegoodnews · 29/03/2020 14:05

@absolutelyknackeredcow my condition progressed like that around day 4 I felt quite a bit better then gradually worse to day 7 last Monday and have now been bumbling along (I.e. lying in bed) with fever, exhaustion and shortness of breath since but mostly staying the same

absolutelyknackeredcow · 29/03/2020 14:09

@Needsomegoodnews Ah thanks - I honestly did not feel that unwell until today
I work in and around Westminster so high likelihood of being infected tbh

CourtneyB123 · 29/03/2020 14:09

Is everyone who has had symptoms counting from the day you encountered a headache/sore throat as day 1 or severe symptoms as day 1? Because I'm currently day 7 when I had diarrhoea etc but overall day 17/18 since having a sore throat etc. Just wondering if anyone is on the mend? I still have a tight chest but overall feeling 80% normal. Just hoping everything goes up from here. I'm glad everyone I'd stable and doing well xx

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 14:10

@Cary2012

That amendment is the first time I’ve laughed for a week. Much better Flowers

Porcupineinwaiting · 29/03/2020 14:10

@TheOwlandThe whatever it is we've all got, we are not hypochondriac. Last (and only) time I've felt this ill was when I got malaria and typhoid in the same week.

Please dont rush back to work, you could set yourself back. Rest for a few more days.

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 14:10

@cathyandclare just to say and I have quite a bit of experience of pulse oximetry- don't expect it to be 100% it may be 96% but that's ok. If there is anaemia that affects the oximetry too as less red blood cells to bounce light through. Also it takes a few minutes to stabilise.

MellowMelly · 29/03/2020 14:11

@Spacecadetagain I wish I’d asked the GP about this counting thing as I have no idea what that was all about. It was at this point (and the several questions prior) that she ruled out Pleurisy as it’s what I suspected my daughter had rather than Coronavirus. It may be worth seeing if your GP will prescribe something as I believe Pleurisy is most likely to be caused by an underlying bacterial/viral infection. Obviously being tested to see if it’s viral/bacterial will be near on impossible at the moment so they may prescribe you some to err on the side of caution.

@KinderWild
Utter relief as she’s had a barrage of health problems throughout her life and I was getting so worried about her that I was suffering (secretly) with anxiety attacks.

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 14:13

@CourtneyB123 counting as day 18 from up and doing but weird throat and burning lungs and saying I'm not right.

But then Day 11 from in bed can't move, other symptoms unwell.

baroqueandblue · 29/03/2020 14:14

Thanks to those who replied to my post earlier, sorry I'm not able to reply directly but I do appreciate your thinking about me :) My brain is scrambled by all this just now.

This thread is amazing. There are so many fantastic contributors, and such a lot of precious info and anecdotal accounts and reassurance and encouragement.

@Spacecadetagain that's exactly what this feels like: cracked ribs (been there more than once in my time!) and costochondritis all in one go. Sorry you're in so much pain too. Mine has hardly been in my chest as such (keep reading about people with chest pain) although it has been in my diaphragm and solar plexus. Mostly it has been ribs up right hand side and the mid-spine area. Excruciating. What worried me this morning was the heavy feeling in my right upper back, as though my lung was just some big painful lump. Can't say the first dose of doxycycline has made any difference but will take a second dose very soon and we'll see. My appetite has been pretty normal the last couple of weeks and breathing only problematic on exertion like walking to the GP's surgery. But I've never had a virus that has caused me so much pain and I've had a fair few flus and such over the years! Hope you're managing ok today without getting overwhelmed. I've started trying to reassure myself by remembering that 2 weeks is a fair way into this (if it is covid) and although I have underlying health issues I'm nowhere near classed as vulnerable according to the criteria, as far as I can tell.

One other thing - sleeping (especially at night) feels different. I wake up feeling like I must've been asleep for a lot longer than I actually have been. Not particularly rested (waking up to the pain and fear every morning seems to sap the usual benefits of sleep) but an odd feeling like I've been working for hours or something, like sleep itself is hard work at the moment. A bit better when I sleep in the afternoon, but not much. Afternoons I wake up feeling stunned and disconnected and lie there for ages just staring into space. Any kind of activity feels like a chore. Depressed feelings, I guess. And my dreams are weirder than usual, lots of places I've never been, which would fit with the uncharted territory of what we're all going through at the moment.

pinkoneblueone · 29/03/2020 14:15

Did anyone day 19 start coughing again?
