Just for you @purpleme12

He is rolling around in his sleep in his cardboard box! Which as you can see he has ripped to shreds and eaten most of.

Have we seen this? Some really positive logic and very reassuring.

Sorry actual article link.

@Arcadia @M0reGinPlease we all had a terrible illness in feb as well. Only thing I can compare it to is the flu. We were all ill for weeks- temperature, awful hacking cough, difficulty breathing. But who knows what it was.

purpleme12 · 29/03/2020 14:38

Aww thank you @bunnyflop
❤️❤️❤️

StCharlotte · 29/03/2020 14:57

RapidRainbow

Yes, thank you for starting these threads - I was having my own wobble back then and the first thread in particular got me through that and I will forever be grateful for that.

Gosh, how much has changed in our lives since then?

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 15:00

@Arcadia DH had what I would describe as flu symptoms, temp, aches and pains and a cough. DD then had temp, out of sorts and a cough. I had a day or two of feeling vaguely rough. Very mild and short-lived but we thought it odd at the time and now looking back I'm wondering...

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 15:05

Great article @SummerHouse a very interesting read

Spudlet · 29/03/2020 15:07

@M0reGinPlease @Bunnyflop We had a weird thing back in Feb too - terrible cough like you wouldn’t believe, very slight temperature, feeling generally grim and DH was a little short of breath for a while too. DS shook it off like it was nothing much, but still has a bit of a cough in the night sometimes. We dismissed it as a really nasty cold / slightly feeble flu at the time but you certainly do wonder, in hindsight... I guess we’ll never know though, unless we have an antibody test, and we won’t be a priority for one of those (and rightly so).

@M0reGinPlease in February my DD has temperature and cough and was under the weather for days (very rarely ill). Then I got weird thing with temperature and felt breathless for days, I still get it sometimes all these weeks later. I've never had that symptom before with a cold/flu. For just one or two days towards the end - I was really snotty and streaming. DP then got it and developed a chest infection and was in bed for a few days.
I wish we could take the antibody tests then I could get out and help people

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 15:11

Cross post spudlet - very similar!

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 15:14

Let's think about this. If it was circulating from Dec/jan in China and Italy then it must have come over to here before we even knew about it/started testing for it. People travel all the time and I live in a very international city. Therefore any deaths associated to it would have been assigned to flu/pneumonia etc. at the time as they wouldn't have been testing for COVID 19.
That ties in with the Spectator article as well.
I'm really hoping it's the case but I guess I'll find out if we all get ill again Confused

tobee · 29/03/2020 15:16

I remember seeing on here that quite a few people had pneumonia around Christmas onwards but I don't know if it was Covid. Maybe we'll never know?

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 15:19

I also wish we could have antibody tests for the general population- bound to be cheaper than a vaccine?

DaffodilThatch · 29/03/2020 15:26

@RapidRainbow just wanted to add my thanks for starting the thread, I think you deserve some sort of award/ recognition from mumsnet!

We had a bug in Feb too, mine was a very sore throat followed by a dry cough. I don't think it was the virus but who knows.

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 15:53

@DaffodilThatch given that reported symptoms range from completely asymptomatic through to death it's impossible to know isn't it!

DianneWhatcock · 29/03/2020 15:56

Great news @Arcadia thank you for sharing

SegregateMumBev · 29/03/2020 15:56

How did Jamie Oliver manage to make that”keep calm and use your store cupboard” show so quickly! Impressive.

Today has felt very like a normal Sunday, went for Arun with the dog, did some knitting, slow cooker on.

Bunnyflop · 29/03/2020 16:23

Good need about the antibody tests but I bet they sell out within minutes

Bunnyflop · 29/03/2020 16:23

News!

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 16:38

Even if they do @Bunnyflop we will get a broader picture of how many people have already had it pretty quickly which would be helpful for everyone!

StCharlotte · 29/03/2020 16:53

Perhaps he'd done it in case the Brexit fearmongers had been right?

Just returned from picking up Dh meds from local hospital.

Very quiet but did see a young woman in the corridor in doctor (?) gowns and gave her a big smile! She smiled back! No idea what area she worked in but just wanted to give her some positive human contact - from couple of metres away.

Also, in a nearby parking bay in car park, saw a couple putting their tiny newborn in their car. Baby red faced and screaming! But lovely to see them! Smile

I even social distance parked my car! Grin

Thank you all for this helpful thread. So glad I’ve discovered it!
My anxiety has been off the scale. My dh is shut in the lounge since Friday evening with a cough and aches. He had a high temp but literally only overnight on Friday. Me and my 2 grown up ds’s are upstairs with the dog and cats. Today I’ve felt a bit achey and yuk but nothing else. My dh has had bad chests in the past and I’m really worried about him and my parents who are locked down nearby in their 80s.
I need to calm down I know and take each day at a time. I feel so tired. I have stopped watching the news now and am going to stop Facebook as it’s full of doom.
Some relaxing tv for me tonight and a bath I think. After sorting tea. Can’t face doing the planned roast dinner so it will be rice with something! Look forward to more positivity here 🤗
