Thanks for the bread machine concern!

I've just heard the beeper go off to mark the end of baking time! It seems to have made a loaf!! Just waiting for it to cool a bit before turning it out of the tin.

It's good we have bread. However, homemade bread tends to survive for a very short amount of time.

I was so pleased to hear the news about Nazanin this morning. Let’s hope it’s permanent.

I’m ensconced on the sofa still in my dressing gown with the dog curled up asleep on my lap. I’m really enjoying life being gentler.

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 11:09

Positive update. We are on day 6 of the virus and feeling much better.
I'm 40, not very fit and a bit fat. I also have thyroid disease.

My 4 year old has literally only had a cough.

tobee · 29/03/2020 11:11

Pies!

GypsyWanderer · 29/03/2020 11:12

@ofwarren that’s really positive to hear thank you. And glad you’re feeling better x

tobee · 29/03/2020 11:13

Good news ofwarren.

And all the other news!

More bunnies and cats and dogs!

GypsyWanderer · 29/03/2020 11:14

This is my positive for today. Three dogs on me and one behind my head! To be fair though this is how I spend most Sundays Grin

Gorgeous dogs Gypsy

Bouncingbomb · 29/03/2020 11:21

They are 💕 Gypsy.

I am planning on finishing my curtains today (they are so big it has become a chore 🤯).

I made smoked haddock chowder for dinner last night, DD proclaimed it disgusting beforehand and then ate two huge bowls of it. I only made it because I had a sweet corn cob left over from out bbq - I would probably have thrown it away before this.

chrissieone · 29/03/2020 11:23

Hello everyone! I've been reading this thread since it's inception and it has helped me no end. I won't talk about it too much but I am now on day 6 of self issolation after suffering with suspected symptoms. Feeling much better now and positive.
Anyway, I just wanted to talk about all the great things celebrities are doing online at the moment during their time at home. One of them is Gary Barlow, getting his celeb friends to duet with him from home, they are really happy, upbeat clips Smile

The one with Beverly Knight is sensational!

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 11:26

Chrissie
I'm day 6 and coming out the other side too.
I'm glad you are also feeling better

Roussette · 29/03/2020 11:40

So glad to hear that some of you suffering this are coming out the other end.

Sunday lunch here... can't wait.
Slow cooked belly pork, apple sauce, stuffing, roast pots, cabbage, peas.

chrissieone · 29/03/2020 11:40

Thank you ofwarren you too.

Bouncingbomb · 29/03/2020 11:44

Me too Rousette, lovely to hear people are feeling better Flowers.

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 12:11

My friend also feeling better on day six so might be the usual course for relatively young healthy people

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 12:12

I know I keep saying this but does anyone think they had CV earlier in the year? Like February time?

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 12:17

Arcadia
I also had the horrible cough and illness at the start of the year and this feels totally different.
Obviously I can't say for others, but it's two separate illnesses for me.
I've never felt an illness like this one.

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 12:23

Back to a more positive note, someone from our local covid help team is going to the shop for us to get the kids some chocolate. They are so happy.

RapidRainbow · 29/03/2020 12:29

Someone mentioned after my last thread that I shouldn't go for a drive to somewhere remote, the idea to do this was before the guidance was fully explained but we never did do it due to being under the weather and I realised not long after posting the implications of crashes, breakdown etc! Fortunately last year our garden was our project so we have a lovely garden to enjoy (though I'm always adding to it with decor and furniture!), I'm very jealous of people who have fields on their doorsteps though. We are semi urban and can walk to woods and fields but have to walk through housing estates to do so and I'm just not comfortable with doing that. We have been isolating for about 2 weeks now, first week I pulled kids out from school as I could see where this was all going and then as soon as schools shut I told DH we needed to start lockdown so he reduced his socialising/hobbies dramatically and so as long as we don't get poorly in the next week, I feel that by only using our garden and having shopping delivered we can stay home as long as it takes to avoid having CV (if our recent bouts of illnesses weren't it!). We drop food off to parents, in laws and grandparents but it's all non-contact ie. Left near a door and they collect when we are well away.

We've settled into it really, eldest DC is doing work set by college and youngest DC(5) is enjoying doing worksheets we have printed off, she is a child who enjoys work and manages it quite well otherwise I wouldn't push it. DH and I have discovered 'Friday Night Dinner' on BBC iplayer so we are working through it on an evening which means we have something to look forward to each day. DH is currently making a Sunday lunch with DD5 helping after spending all of yesterday working in his office and so giving me a little break today.

I must say, DH is brilliant, he always has been but I'm so lucky to have someone to share the load and often do less than my fair share at his insistence!

My anxiety has pretty much gone, it peaked when I started the Positive Mental Health thread which was sometime before the general public cottoned on to the seriousness of what was coming and so I think I had more time to come to terms with it. It helps that my vulnerable elderly parents and in laws have actually heeded the advice and began self isolating a few weeks ago too.

I don't care how long this goes on for, right now it's a bit shit admittedly but soon enough the weather will be warmer and I look forward to spending days in the garden enjoying the sun!

Really feel for people who don't have that outside space, our garden isn't large but we have artificial grass which although not environmentally friendly means we don't have a waterlogged mudbath like last year. We back onto a school field so I feel less closed in.

Bloodybackpain · 29/03/2020 13:19

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok.

I’ve been out for a long run, thought I’d try for 2 hours time on feet, but ended up doing half marathon distance Smile so feeling pleased. Plus I’ve just realised it’s my longest run since back surgery 9 months ago, was due to do a half mara in May, but clearly ready for it now!

DaffodilThatch · 29/03/2020 13:31

Wow, well done @Bloodybackpain! That's good going.

@RapidRainbow I hadn't realised about not being able to drive somewhere to go for a walk initially either. I'm very thankful we have a garden, but also jealous of those who can easily get out to fields, or even better - the beach for a walk! We have ordered a playhouse for DD so hope that will help to occupy her. Considering getting a fairy door for it too.

Grin @tobee, might have to eat all the pies!

Spudlet · 29/03/2020 14:07

Well done, @Bloodybackpain!

@RapidRainbow I’m glad you’re feeling less anxious now and thank you for starting these threads, they have helped an awful lot of us.

We’ve just had a late lunch and now DS is playing with his farm mat that I made for him. DH is about to take ddog out and then we’re planning to watch the new Shaun the Sheep movie and probably light the fire. I’m also mulling over getting my sewing machine out - it was being very temperamental last time I used it and I’m half wanting to make something, half not in case it has another breakdown!

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 14:10

@Arcadia I'm convinced DH had it very end of Jan. Then I think he gave DD and I a milder version of it. He's never ill, maybe once every six or seven years and he had a temp and a cough.

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 14:18

May be wishful thinking @M0reGinPlease but what were your symptoms?
