We aren't going to lockdown tonight.

Stop scaremongering.

Maybe at the end of the week or next week. I reckon 10 days. But not tonight.

Even still, you can still go to the supermarket, pharmacy and walk the dog.

Stop scaremongering!!!! You're sending people's anxiety through the roof!

BigChocFrenzy · 23/03/2020 21:30

"We aren't going to lockdown! Stop scaremongering!"
😂😂
Better not bother to pick any lottery numbers, OP !

whatnametopick · 23/03/2020 21:31

Waiting for the op to come back and say "he never actually said lock down though" Hmm

Ellie56 · 23/03/2020 21:31

Ha! Does that mean all those stupid twats who moved their motor homes into residential streets after Cornwall council closed all the caravan parks, will now sod off back home?

Or are are they planning to spend the lockdown in their motorhome? Hmm

It was obvious the other day with the wording he used.
He was gently telling people to stay the fuck at home or things will get real.
People didn't.
So now stay the fuck at home. Face the threat of a fine.
The hard of thinking will go out.
So next we are forced to stay in and seek permission.
The hard of thinking will find some other way to flout this.

StinkyWizzleteets · 23/03/2020 21:33

Well the OP aged quickly

Hippydoodledoo8 · 23/03/2020 21:34

Lol @ op

AmelieTaylor · 23/03/2020 21:35

@BuyingaHome

Scaremongering you say🙄😳

Don’t you look like a prize pillock now 🤣

If nobody ever said "scaremongering" again it would be too fucking soon

Absolutely!!

BigChocFrenzy · 23/03/2020 21:35

Observing the Coroavirus threads the last few weeks,
MN need to add some words to their glossary:

"scaremongering" = prediction likely to happen from 90 minutes onwards

Wilmalovescake · 23/03/2020 21:36

This thread aged faster than me after a day of home schooling Grin

lowlandLucky · 23/03/2020 21:36

nicenewdusters i am with you, this shouldbe a classic phrase to be used forever more Grin

Wobblywibblywoo · 23/03/2020 21:38

Grin nothing else just Grin

CurlyhairedAssassin · 23/03/2020 21:38

as soon as the announcement was made that bojo was addressing the nation at 8.30:I guessed what he'd say

It’s obvious to most people with intelligence, and who are watching the news and developments from other countries daily. People must have KNOWN that this was going to be a repeat of Macron’s headmaster telling off the other day. We have had to be put in detention, how pathetic we are. Sadly this whole shit show just proves that too many people don’t pay any attention to the news unless it directly involves them. Unless people start SEE British people dying in overrun hospitals on the news, they won’t think it will happen here. Italy may as well be the far side of fuck or the moon, most are not connecting what is going on there with what will happen here in a couple of weeks. They are just not that bright enough.

This thread aged faster than me after a day of home schooling

LOLZ

NettleTea · 23/03/2020 21:40

I fail to see why this is a surprise to anyone.

But then Ive been surprised at how people have been blatently ignoring the advice

Hereforthenamethreads · 23/03/2020 21:40

Do you ever wish you just hadn't started a thread?

XingMing · 23/03/2020 21:43

I have just read that of 20 proven CV cases in Cornwall, there have been seven deaths. This is the highest mortality rate I have seen reported anywhere in the world. One-third....
Think about it. Please

TheCanterburyWhales · 23/03/2020 21:43

I'd wave goodbye to your runs in the park as well tbh given the 658 threads saying "phew, we can still go to the park" is going to have more people congregating there than at Westgate on the 22nd December.

DivisionBelles · 23/03/2020 21:43

That aged well Grin

BlackSwan · 23/03/2020 21:44

Calling the MN Hall of Fame, are you in Hall of Fame? I think we have a live one right here - it's failing, but it still has pulse.

TheCanterburyWhales · 23/03/2020 21:44

Xing that's awful. (Ps I think I know you from a former life...Dune?)

Tonyaster · 23/03/2020 21:44

XingMing

Remember that only cases requiring hospitalization are tested.

WreckTangle95 · 23/03/2020 21:46

@BigChocFrenzy

'' better not pick any lottery numbers OP''

😂😂😂😂😂😂

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 23/03/2020 21:46

@BuyingaHome

We aren't going to lockdown tonight.
Erm, yes we are.

Stop scaremongering.
They weren't.

Maybe at the end of the week or next week. I reckon 10 days. But not tonight.
It is tonight. I hope you didn't put money on it.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 23/03/2020 21:51

It was fairly obvious we were going to go into a lockdown and was necessary as well.

If you're not scared - you should be. That's reality not scaremongering. Haven't you seen the news in other countries and what's about to happen here in the UK?
