There's speculation that he will implement a full lockdown.

How will this differ from what we're doing now?

YgritteSnow · 23/03/2020 20:57

I’m not stoping my kids dad seeing them!!! For 3 weeks. Not fair on him!

And so the whining and obstruction begins...Hmm

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 23/03/2020 20:57

@BuckingFrolics do you mean they should be saying no exercise and no shopping?

Ondalay · 23/03/2020 20:57

Sky News reporter suspects police will focus on breaking up groups of people.

vegas888 · 23/03/2020 20:57

Shame he didn’t mention cancelling all flights from coronavirus hotspots like Italy and Iran 🙄

Lifesavesocialdistance · 23/03/2020 20:58

I'm sure cars are seen as essential. I should imagine mot garages are still open

Lifesavesocialdistance · 23/03/2020 20:58

Vegas true!

And scenes from lhw didn't look good today!

Thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat · 23/03/2020 20:59

We've got an allotment that we're trying to knock into shape. That qualifies as exercise for a couple of hours a day, right? We drive there and back (about 10 minutes all told) with tools.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 23/03/2020 20:59

Thanks struggling.

My oven broke earlier today and the boiler is playing up (cold showers ha ha Hmm). Hoping I can find the people to repair both

cyclingmad · 23/03/2020 20:59

It's for 3 weeks at the moment if people cooperated it could be over in 3 weeks but people wont and so this will now drag out for longer.

Froq · 23/03/2020 21:00

Good lord.

‘What about split families’
‘What about my cat’s social needs’
‘What about me? I’m special and training for a marathon’

Use your bloody common sense. You know why the measures are in place and the purpose behind the enforcement of those measures.

Ondalay · 23/03/2020 21:00

Not enough. Nowhere near enough
What do you want? Everyone imprisoned?

toobusytothink · 23/03/2020 21:00

Really whining about a dad not seeing his kids for 3 weeks!! How would you like it?????

BeijingBikini · 23/03/2020 21:01

I have wondered whether some of the authoritarian regimes are going to let the virus take its course, have 2% of the population, or whatever the reality turns out to be, die, mass graves, health care only for the few, and a very strong crackdown by police/security/military services.

Stop with the conspiracies - I have family there and they're doing a shit-ton of testing and have already closed schools and gone semi-lockdown. Healthcare for the few? Look on any worldwide stats site - they have a high amount of hospital beds. They stopped flights from China and other places many weeks ago. Numbers are fairly low atm, though Moscow is pretty crowded so it probably won't stay that way long unless proper lockdown (which is likely).

Thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat · 23/03/2020 21:01

...can I add there are no communal spaces at all. You pull up, into allotment, close the door, that's it. You never see anyone else.

Devlesko · 23/03/2020 21:02

It will be interesting to see the surge in cases coming from Mothers day and panic buyers who couldn't be told.
Thousands will have caught it over the last couple of weeks.

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 23/03/2020 21:02

I also think the police will be breaking up groups, I doubt I will get accosted driving to work tomorrow morning alone in my car,

BeijingBikini · 23/03/2020 21:02

Yes on the flights - why have we not banned these weeks ago!!

Seems ludicrous to still be importing cases and not even scanning them at Heathrow or anything.

supercee · 23/03/2020 21:03

We've got an allotment that we're trying to knock into shape. That qualifies as exercise for a couple of hours a day, right? We drive there and back (about 10 minutes all told) with tools.

You fannying about in your allotment for a couple of hours is Not. Fucking. Essential.

nightimebrowser · 23/03/2020 21:03

@toobusytothink
"I’m not stoping my kids dad seeing them!!! For 3 weeks. Not fair on him!"

Are you dim?! It's 3 weeks to save millions of lives. Your kids and their dad can go 3 weeks without seeing each other. Just FaceTime/Skype fgs.

You are why people are dying.

cyclingmad · 23/03/2020 21:03

So what its 3 weeks we live in a technological advanced world, use bloody whatsapp video calling facetime or whatever you use.

Jesus christ

Wallywobbles · 23/03/2020 21:03

Be warned that amazon orders will cease very shortly. They will honor orders already made so don't hang about.

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 23/03/2020 21:04

@toobusytothink do you mean you don’t want to have look after them all by yourself for 3 weeks?

Seriously.

chomalungma · 23/03/2020 21:04

Are schools still open?

Alsohuman · 23/03/2020 21:04

*It's a nonsense.i could - but won't, because I'm not a complete twat - walk the dog at 7am, have a run at 12, and take the kids out for a walk at 4. And tell any police officer that the walk with the kids was the only time I stepped outside all day.

I can meet my friend for coffee at her house, drive home, get stopped and simply say I'm on route to Tesco's.

Not enough. Nowhere near enough*

So what do you suggest?

Ondalay · 23/03/2020 21:04

Parks remain open for exercise only - gatherings are the main thing he wants to cut down on it seems.
