Wasn't actually expecting it and feel quite upset.

I have 3 children, I don't know how this is going to work?

No, surely I can go in my garden?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 23/03/2020 20:29

Nope, not according to the text. It's fucking ridiculous, and I'm so angry.

FourTeaFallOut · 23/03/2020 20:43

I suppose I glossed over "you can open a window but do not leave your home" was for people who might have a communal courtyard - I can't see how being in my own back garden could be risky. I don't have an enormous back garden but no one could cough so hard it came over the fence.

I got the text this afternoon for my DD who has cystic fibrosis. I'm in England.

Bullydog · 29/03/2020 10:03

Hello have any of you shielding tried to get furloughed it is possible but employers are refusing due to no legal obligation to do so anyone else having this problem you follow govt guidlines to be told you only get ssp

On other hand how are you all coping with the lockdown period

Egghead68 · 29/03/2020 10:34

Hi Bullydog - no I am working from home, partly in my normal job and partly redeployment. They said if I didn’t work I wouldn’t get paid, although I think I would have challenged this via my union. I am not sure what the legal situation is.

eliope · 29/03/2020 14:53

Afternoon, my company won't pay me either. I'm currently on annual leave and then don't know what I'm going to do. I'm a support worker and can't work from home.
They are acting as though I am shirking. My manager insisted I must stay home last week☹️
I hope everyone's ok sending you all an unmumsnetter hug
