Wasn't actually expecting it and feel quite upset.

I have 3 children, I don't know how this is going to work?

What text of doom?

Reginabambina · 23/03/2020 14:09

Lockdown?

Chuffingchuff · 23/03/2020 14:10

Do you mean to stay isolated as an at risk person?

barnet · 23/03/2020 14:11

Homeschooling? The rest of Europe is doing it, it’s going ok.

inwood · 23/03/2020 14:12

Lockdown?

7Days · 23/03/2020 14:12

What text of doom?

Theres a lot of them about these days

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/03/2020 14:18

The one to be of the 1.5 million people required to shield themselves? Surely if you’re in one of the most vulnerable and at risk groups you’re aware of that already?

It’s going to be tough. I think parents are just going to have to be a lot firmer with children than they’re used to being. You’re bored? Tough shit, get used to it, this is life now. It will take a bit of time but children are adaptable and will get used to reading / drawing / playing quietly in their rooms or whatever.

JoyceTempleSavage · 23/03/2020 14:19

I’ve had the phone call of doom cancelling my wax appointment if that’s any help 🤷‍♀️

MindyStClaire · 23/03/2020 14:25

Surely if you’re in one of the most vulnerable and at risk groups you’re aware of that already?

Actually, if the guidelines on the Asthma UK website are correct, I should be receiving one, or on the borderline of it, and I hadn't expected it at all. I feel completely wrongfooted by the whole thing.

Defaultuser · 23/03/2020 14:25

OP I was worried about this as I am receiving cancer treatment but I'm not in the highest risk group. Are the restrictions really strict? Do they expect you to stay away from family members in the same house?

browzingss · 23/03/2020 14:28

What does the text actually state?

woodchuck99 · 23/03/2020 14:29

Do you get a text rather than a letter? I was feeling quite relieved not to get one but don't have a mobile signal.

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/03/2020 14:30

Fair enough. Though the Asthma UK guidance looks to be saying that the very high risk group is people with very severe asthma who require daily medication, which mirrors the guidance released by the government.

If you don't mind me asking OP, what condition do you have? I understand it must be shocking to realise you are in the high-high risk group

Laiste · 23/03/2020 14:32

I thought this was going to be about sainsburys deliveries ....

SentimentalKiller · 23/03/2020 14:32

I have daily medication and, according to the list, will be getting a letter. It doesn't mean I considered myself to have very severe asthma. I work and exercise. I have never been hospitalised due to asthma
It is a shock.

AngelicaKauffman · 23/03/2020 14:33

Why are there so many cryptic threads posted these days? First one about "what Piers Morgan said" with no hint as to what he actually said, then one about a head teacher dying with no link or information about who or where or if it's really true, now this?! What text??

Egghead68 · 23/03/2020 14:34

Not yet. Should get one but don't trust their symptoms.

Branleuse · 23/03/2020 14:35

well this is vague

ClientQueen · 23/03/2020 14:36

@damnthatanxiety I have autoimmune neutropenia and am on GCSF, I've been speaking to haematology this morning and they said I should receive a letter this week

Crunchymum · 23/03/2020 14:38

I've requested the thread title be changed.

Yes I mean the message to shield

I have an autoimmune condition which hasn't before been mentioned as high risk? Obviously I am adhering to the current rules but was rather surprised to recieve the message.

OP, do you mind disclosing which autoimmune condition you have. No problem if you would rather not. Just wondering will I get a letter too.. not expecting one but now you got me thinking.

CeibaTree · 23/03/2020 14:42

Hi OP - do you mind sharing which condition? Hope you are ok, it's a shocking and unsettling time for us all x

Devlesko · 23/03/2020 14:42

What did it say OP if you don't mind me asking. I've had one from my surgery just saying that letters will be arriving soon. Not sure if it was me or sent to everyone on their system.
