@mrswhiplington we had a guy come to fix someone’s tv signal, and at my restaurant pest control came.

Apologies if it has been asked before, however how much notice of lockdown did you get?

BirdandSparrow · 23/03/2020 21:40

how much notice of lockdown did you get? About a day? They closed the schools in Madrid then other schools a few days later then a day later it was announced. For my region, school closures were announced on a Thursday night, by Saturday we were effectively in lockdown.

I have to say, I think it is easier to have a very strict lockdown imposed. We were fully locked down very quickly, within about 24 hours it was made clear that exercise wasn't included. Even now the British lockdown seems to be leaving big loopholes that will lead to a lot of confusion.
Businesses seem more determined to flout it in the UK too (Sports Direct for example)

Op have they said how long they think lockdown will go on for?

BirdandSparrow · 24/03/2020 10:50

have they said how long they think lockdown will go on for? Originally it was 2 weeks (to the end of March) as the state of alarm can only be for 15 days before congress has to vote on it again. It will be put before congress in the next day or two (or has been, not sure) and it is agreed by ll parties they will vote to extend to 12 April. This is partly to give more time to make it work and also because Easter week is 5-12 April and if it's lifted then everyone will go on holiday and spread it like mad.
