SleepingStandingUp · 22/03/2020 20:51

They've announced theyll be closed by tomorrow night.
I feel sad for the thousands of staff but also for us thst we've lost another part of our lives, my DS loves MacDonalds, it's part of our aider routine and something tbsts just for us that it's gone now. Not even like we can go for one last happy meal

I hope the lovely staff can pick up work in the supermarkets

Their food is awful. I see closure this as good news!

Tonyaster · 23/03/2020 09:41

Good. Loads of idiotic young teens crammed together in there yesterday.

x2boys · 23/03/2020 10:00

Presumably you never go Redwood?

Babysharkdoodoodood · 23/03/2020 11:08

@SleepingStandingUp If you can get the ingredients, this is a great book. Both my boys (even the one who works there) use it.

If anyone is missing chicken nuggets, you can often buy what are probably real McDonalds mis-shaped nuggets in cheap frozen shops like Heron, Jack Fultons or independents.

They're in a clear pack and look and taste very similar, so worth a try.

WorraLiberty · 23/03/2020 11:17

I don't understand that post.

If you think it's awful then presumably you don't eat it anyway, so why is it good news? Confused

Nixby3 · 23/03/2020 11:18

I think you spend too much time in McDonald's op! Why would anyone eat there, the food is awful!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 23/03/2020 11:21

Why do people come to these threads just to say how they would never eat at McDonalds? How odd.

I'm actually glad they're closing, simply because it's the first thing that's actually got DS1's attention and made him realise this is a big deal.

AdobeWanKenobi · 23/03/2020 11:25

Virtue signalling. "Oh look at meeeeee, I wouldn't pollute my temple of a body with anything as bad as a hamburger" , along with some inflated sense of self importance that you just have to hear their opinion.

What they are actually signalling is they are weapons grade tossers but it's useful to know for when you see them on another thread Wink

EmeraldShamrock · 23/03/2020 11:30

I'm really going to miss my weekly quarter pounder with cheese meal.
If it protects staff, it is not forever, they tried to continue with the drive it got packed causing people to congregate in the carpark using benches, teens stopping cars to grab them another milkshake.
Another example of a few unruly grapes spoilt a bunch.

x2boys · 23/03/2020 11:37

Well clearly millions of people around the world disagree Nixby but I assume you never eat there anyway?Hmm

GlitchStitch · 23/03/2020 11:39

I'm currently waiting on a delivery, one last meal before they close. Feel sorry for all the delivery drivers who get a lot of their jobs from there. Better to protect their staff though.

WorraLiberty · 23/03/2020 11:39

I think sushi is awful but due to being you know....open minded, I can see why people eat it.

That'll be because they have different tastes and preferences...

Tonyaster · 23/03/2020 11:43

I eat there occasionally. But in the scheme of things atm its closure is completely irrelevant to me.

Fuss · 23/03/2020 11:43

I'm that weird person that loves a fillet o fish. I cant justify going out to get one before things close though.

wontletmelogin · 23/03/2020 11:45

Just got my food for free being NHS staff. I asked for a happy meal so as not to take the piss and the staff wouldn’t hear of it and made it a full size meal. Thanked them and wished them to stay safe.

Morgan12 · 23/03/2020 11:45

I'm going to miss McDonalds ALOT.

YgritteSnow · 23/03/2020 11:58

Love a Big Mac. Had one last week actually as I could see this was coming, KFC too and fish and chips. Self isolated as of Friday so that's that for a while.

Nixby3 · 23/03/2020 12:06

Grin x2boys, Worra you make me laugh!

SleepingStandingUp · 23/03/2020 12:11

@x2boys all the more reason to take care to note the minor things, to keep us sane. In the handset scheme of things would they withhold treatment from my son and what happens if DH is in isolation his mom and I get critically ill? Personally my sanity is better served sweating the small stuff.

@Babysharkdoodoodood ooooh ill look

SleepingStandingUp · 23/03/2020 12:13

@Nixby3 and how much time do I spend there?? Plus property chicken breast converted in topping in a pitta, hardly the worst food in the world for a treat

OP posts:
Nixby3 · 23/03/2020 12:16

Makes me laugh that you think McDonald's is a gourmet treat!

Sirzy · 23/03/2020 12:17

Nixby have you actually read the thread?

SleepingStandingUp · 23/03/2020 12:50

You live a weird life if "not the worst food for a treat for a4 yo" is a gourmet treat. In the real world a nice treat for a 4 yo is something with basic nutritional values and not too healthy.

Update I got one. Shop empty. He ate nearly all of it

OP posts:
Nixby3 · 23/03/2020 12:58

You said not the worst food in the world for a treat NOT the worst food for a treat for a 4 yo
