If there was a lockdown only adults would be allowed out as children would have no need to go out

middleager · 22/03/2020 17:10

What choice do we have?
When I feel like this I think of the Blitz raids for 8 months and the years of war and starvation that followed.

HairyTesticles · 22/03/2020 17:10

Yes

Middleagedmidwife · 22/03/2020 17:11

Yes, should have done it weeks ago. We had the advantage of seeing what was happening in Italy, yet we did nothing. People are out in parks today ffs! Unless we force them to stay in they’ll spread the virus and put more strain on the nhs

MrsMigginsPie · 22/03/2020 17:12

Yes

Cam77 · 22/03/2020 17:15

What a joke that we need to have a petition of hundreds of thousands begging this useless government for a lockdown

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 22/03/2020 17:16

@butterbear86

It won't be 2 years. My company has offices in China and they went back to work after 4 weeks albeit phasing teams in (eg different team in every day) and even Wuhan is opening after 10 weeks

Randomschoolworker19 · 22/03/2020 17:28

If by lockkdown you mean the government advising it, then no, people have already shown how stupid, ignorant and selfish they are.

If, however, you mean bring the military and armed police in with road blocks and check points then Yes! They could issue key workers with ID cards / travel passes.

Loly365 · 22/03/2020 17:30

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301397 Share as much as you can if you CARE!!! Many signed already, but obviously not enough for Boris to listen..

Northernsoullover · 22/03/2020 17:32

It scares me how eager people are to rush into martial law.

amatsip · 22/03/2020 17:35

yes

CremeEggThief · 22/03/2020 17:35

Unfortunately, yes.Sad People just can't seem to self-regulate.

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 17:36

This is complete madness.
I am losing the will to live here.
People; selfish and self absorbed.
I'm sorry but this is just winding me up so much!

Mittens030869 · 22/03/2020 17:36

I agree. It's so depressing. It must surely be clear to this government that there's a sizeable minority of people who just don't care, and won't take any notice of advice to stay in their homes. They won't unless they're forced to do so.

itsallamysterytome · 22/03/2020 17:36

Judging by the behaviour of people today, going to the park or beach and families strolling down the high street without a care in the world.

Yes, right this minute.

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 17:36

We need Marshall law : it's sad but this is what it needs.

supersop60 · 22/03/2020 17:38

Yes.

Marieo · 22/03/2020 17:38

Yes. I can't even fathom that people who are able to stay home as they aren't having to go and put themselves in danger can't even manage that. The mind absolutely boggles, I can't even. I don't know if we have the resources though which is why there is resistance, the military are being ear marked to help deliver packages of food etc to those who need them, provide logistical support for transporting oxygen etc, medical personnel etc; we don't have that big of an armed forces and police force to also patrol lockdown. We need to though as people are morons.

Marieo · 22/03/2020 17:38

@The80sweregreat er, no we don't!

ednatheevilwitch · 22/03/2020 17:40

Yes

TeaAndDarkToast · 22/03/2020 17:55

No.
lots of love, Boris

Hippofrog · 22/03/2020 17:56

Would it mean shut the schools to all and lock down?

MarshaBradyo · 22/03/2020 17:58

Not quite
Close playgrounds now though

Or let people have one walk like they do in France
