Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

I cough in a similar way. I thought I didn't have a cough as I was expecting something more dramatic.

VivaLeBeaver · 22/03/2020 22:13

I remembered something this afternoon. That the U.K. couple on the cruise ship, the Abels were convinced they didn’t have it. And in their videos she coughed occasionally. And blamed it on the cabin air. Then she tested positive.

I don’t have a consistent cough, I’m not sure what counts as persistent. I’d say it was occasional. No temp. One minute I think I have it, then I think I’m just being anxious.

Rowgtfc72 · 22/03/2020 22:15

I had all these symptoms in feb. Still have trouble getting a deep breath in at times and feels like my lungs are burning when I do.

pinkoneblueone · 22/03/2020 22:18

Now getting what feels like hot flushes but my temp is ok back pain is returning.

clairethewitch70 · 22/03/2020 22:22

End of day 18. Just slight breathlessness now and again and the occasional cough. Lower legs still achy. Face flushed but no temperature spikes for a week now.

DewDropsonKittens · 22/03/2020 22:32

If there are 5000 cases in the uk confirmed, does that mean they're all ICU / HDU patients?

sierradelta · 22/03/2020 22:52

I’m on day 10 and not sure if things are going to get better or worse from here on. I tend to have a good day followed by a bad one, on the whole.

The sore throat comes back frequently along with the metallic taste although the throat is now not as painful as it was in the first few days. Temperature seems to stay fairly normal, cough is intermittent, anxiety rises whenever the sore throat returns and I often feel flushed but cold at the same time. I don’t exactly feel dizzy, but spaced out at times. Legs felt wobbly yesterday and I just felt strangely disconnected.

Taking it easy as far as possible, trying not to worry too much and keeping out of the way of my DH.

Thanks for this thread

Does anyone think they had it ages ago? Is it even possible to have suffered before Christmas? I will describe symptoms of a virus I had before Christmas.

I work in a school so there is a defined length of day 1 day 2 although I cannot be accurate precisely because I wasn't counting.

Colleague had a bad cough. Built slowly with sinus issues but mostly a cough. We work closely. Another colleague (the cleaner incidentally) built a bad cough. We all carried on working for around a week.

Nearby colleague got a temp, felt so unwell she went sick at home.
4 days I worked alone in the office.
I had diarrhoea. I had dizziness. I had a chronic headache. I felt horrendously sick for a particular time only.

Theses specific symptoms were exact amongst us.

On Thursday eve, having been alone in the office all week, I knew my time was up. I ached, I felt sick, I felt dizzy.
I went straight home to bed, was coughing. I have asthma. It hurt to fuck. The cough hurt real bad. That night and next morning, my temp hit 40. Whilst being so ill, I drove to the doc. I thought I would die waiting for the doc. My chest had a tiny crackle apparently. I was prescribed antibiotics instantly. Same as my colleagues.

I had a week off work inc weekend. It wiped me out. I have had swine flu. that also wiped me out but this was different.

The bug I had before Christmas - was that CV? Were the docs aware at that stage? The antibiotic was a big one, a pneumonia one.... I thought it a bit of a large gesture at the time.... What did they know mid December ?????

usercheeselover · 22/03/2020 23:03

Oh and DP has now got a temp so we are in full freak out mode (I jest, we are pretty calm, and he's buggered off the the spare room) Mid grade temp.

Kids already had odd spike of huge high yet short temp whilst on ski trip in half term in Austria......

It's all bloody weird

WellThisIsShit · 22/03/2020 23:09

I am finding this thread reassuring, as there is a pattern in many of the diaries of symptoms.

It’s reassuring to remember that for many people they recover from the virus.

I’m so scared, I’m immuno-compromised and so I’ve talked myself believing it’s a hideous and immediate death for me, no doubt. I may get lucky. I may be ok.

Anxiety is going to be my battle, as well as the virus itself.

How do people know they aren’t dying/ going to get too ill to breathe enough oxygen in very soon, when they can’t be looked after by anyone and when you have a temperature so must be feeling very up and down? It’s all so new symptoms so hardly anyone can go on experience.... x

Sunshine1239 · 22/03/2020 23:11

To be fair a corona cough is coughing repeatedly for over an hour - not a few times an hour

Mine was constant all day

If on and off it’s likely allergies this time year

usercheeselover · 22/03/2020 23:20

I was googling whooping cough in Dec - it was so insistent I was retching

Kids in school have had same the last few weeks.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2020 23:24

usercheese
Loads of people had flu around Christmas. I did. I now have cv symptoms. As for not being able to breathe, I have a ventolin inhaler. I monitor myself and my symptoms. I have become confused this afternoon. The inhaler has helped with this.

Sunshine
Not necessarily true. It was described as one, which lasts over an hour or one, which is persistent and regular throughout the day.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2020 23:25

Oops part of my comment should have been to Wellthisisshit. I love writing your name btw!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 22/03/2020 23:26

I’m baffled by the sneezing.
Mine started with sneezing. I’ve had flu before and that always begins with sneezing for me. I know the difference between flu and colds for me, it’s the difference between loosing my appetite or not, a couple of days Ill or weeks, being active enough to keep myself functioning and not being able to move. And yet that Boots info graphic says no sneezing in flu or Coronavirus!

Day 1 sore throat and diarrhoea
Day 2-3 sneezing, headache, colds feeling
Day 4-5 teeth, jaw and legs so painful I cannot sleep even with paracetamol, no appetite, no energy, stayed in bed, painful cough, high temperatures, burning eyelids
Day 6 -7 temperature down pain easing, cough intermittent but very painful and flemy windpipe crackling breathless
Day 8 -12 cough like a 50 a day smoker, energy back but getting breathless after completing most tasks.

Day 13 - 14 Coughing less and able to move around the house at my normal pace without getting breathless

No idea if it’s coronavirus, I’ve been self isolating at home since I got ill, and a few days in was told to by a GP over the phone.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 22/03/2020 23:28

I’ve also had the waking up sweating profusely symptom.

Sunshine1239 · 22/03/2020 23:34

It’s coughing repeatedly

Not just a regular cough

You’d know the difference

I get allergies so cough all day anyway

Corona cough is much more frequent

My lungs feel like they are on fire. Anyone else? - Part 2
Sunshine1239 · 22/03/2020 23:34

A lot more if not coughing 3/4 times an hour that’s pretty normal

DandyPenguin · 22/03/2020 23:39

I woke up having been sweating profusely at the beginning of this week. I also got sweaty from just 5-10 minutes of walking, which was unusual for me. I just put it down to being a menopausal lady Grin

tangledyarn · 22/03/2020 23:49

I was on the last thread but not caught up. Think I'm on day 18/20 or so (first few days were more mild so it's hard to remeber) Still really struggling, been out of bed a bit more today but very shakey, chest still heavy and burny and getting more chest/lung pains but whilst I'm still v short of breath still it's a lot less bad than it was a couple of days ago. Have a really sore throat tonight and just feel fluey in my bones but do think I'm getting there, just think it might be a very long road me too. Interestingly read something that said average duration of illness is 12-30 days so it's a long one!

Roostersmum2 · 22/03/2020 23:56

I'm astounded at the "you can end isolation after 7 days" advice from the government, despite people being so unwell for 12-20 days Shock

7 days isolation from the onset of symptoms cannot be sound advice can it?

Tangled I saw you on the other thread thank you for the update, I hope you and others get some well deserved better health soon!

Casino218 · 22/03/2020 23:57

@tangledyarn I'm day 13 and was just saying to DH yesterday that this will take me a couple of weeks to come round from. Cough reduced significantly but last night about 6 I started to feel so jittery and chest hurt again. Bad headache on waking today. The symptoms flux and wane like mad.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 00:02

@roostersmum I know crazy isn't it. I could be out and about now..ridiculous! Work as a hcp too with vulnerable patients, which makes it equally nuts. I'll be staying at home, mostly in bed for the foreseeable but am desperate to get back to work even if just from home. Am just worried that despite the gp "diagnosis" this isn't covid and I'm gonna go back out with weaker lungs plus moderate asthma and be hit by it, but not a lot I can do, just got to hope I keep improving slowly. Hope you are doing ok xx

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 23/03/2020 00:05

Sunshine that says either cougijg for an hour OR 2 or 4 times in a day doesn't it!? Doesnt it just mean a cough thats not caused by choking on food or flower allergy etc

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 00:06

@casino218 I cant see myself feeling more normal for a while. I'm so up and down, this morning in bed I felt the best I felt but then being up for a couple of hours just made everything loads worse again. Trying to just roll with it..but its frustrating. Hope you are moving in the right direction at least!
