Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

Just out of interest has anyone had a chest xray?

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 23/03/2020 00:13

Thanks for the thread. I'm new and it's useful info.

Slightly worried about DH who has what seems like a cold but with heartburn/burping. Sore throat (maybe from snoring as he's bunged up) and possibly fever, haven't taken it but he says he feels woozy. And achy. He gets all those with a cold normally except stomach stuff. He's taking paracetamol which I have never seen him do in 26 years (and he's pleasantly surprised it's helping a bit) and avoiding ibuprofen.

I'm wondering if it could attack your weakest point? Eg if we get the same cold, for him would be in his sinuses, but for me I'd have a sore throat and fever.

Feeling guilty as we are on lockdown in France so have hardly been out, but he went to get meds for me a week ago and did shopping on Friday. My doctor has told be to be extra careful as I'm apparently vulnerable (nothing on U.K. list but have a LOT of conditions).

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 00:16

@tangledyarn yes it's just a case of rolling with it and if I'm having an up I vacuum, do laundry etc. If I'm having a down I witter at DH then crawl back into bed. Take care, plenty of fluids x

Jerseygaly · 23/03/2020 00:17

Well I'm 12/13 so really hoping to feel better soon.
I don't actually have a cough though just heavy tight chest, breathless.
It comes and goes worse in evening. I'm going to try to control my blood sugar better tommorow, in case that's why I'm worse in the evening.

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 00:18

@ViveLEntenteCordiale he may well have it or be starting with it. Can you keep your distance in house and cleanse everything?

Jerseygaly · 23/03/2020 00:20

I don't understand how it can come and go like this. I mean mine has been daily for 12d but not constant.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 00:25

@jerseygaly if it is covid19 from what I've read its something to do with it being a totally new virus to your system, so it will have a go at tackling it and then fail and so on..I guess other viruses might work the same to a degree. I had a gap in the middle of 3 days where I felt fine..I was tight chested but went to work etc (this was 3 weeks ago before I considered the possibility) but then I got much much worse so I dont know. The gift that keeps giving!

PontiacBandit · 23/03/2020 00:27

I've been quite I'll but don't think I've had it, more like tonsillitis which I've been given antibiotics which are working and had no cough but I'm still self isolating due to fever.
Day1 conjunctivitis, chills and sweating fever, fuzzy painful headache all over, very sore swollen glands in throat, temp of 38.8
Day2 some fever, temp normal, headache but not as severe, still bad throat
Day3 just swollen sore throat, hurts to eat and drink
Day4 slight pain in throat, swelling gone down

No cough at all so I don't think its covid, but to be safe we are all staying home.

Business insider says

A day-by-day breakdown of coronavirus symptoms shows how the disease, COVID-19, goes from bad to worse

A fever is the most common symptom.
Here's how the symptoms progress day by day among typical patients.
It starts with a fever. That's the most common symptom among people who get the coronavirus that's sweeping the world.

The virus, which causes a disease known as COVID-19, has reached more than 150 countries. The US has reported thousands of cases and dozens of deaths.

A February study of nearly 140 patients at the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University in China identified a typical pattern of symptoms associated with COVID-19. About 99% of the patients developed a high temperature, while more than half experienced fatigue and a dry cough. About a third also experienced muscle pain and difficulty breathing.

Research from the Chinese Center for Disease Control has suggested that about 80% of coronavirus cases are mild. About 15% of patients have gotten severe cases, and 5% have become critically ill.

Here's how symptoms typically progress among patients:

Day 1: Patients run a fever. They may also experience fatigue, muscle pain, and a dry cough. A small minority may have had diarrhea or nausea one or two days before.
Day 5: Patients may have difficulty breathing, especially if they are older or have a preexisting health condition.
Day 7: This is how long it takes, on average, before patients are admitted to a hospital, the Wuhan University study found.
Day 8: At this point, patients with severe cases develop acute respiratory distress syndrome, an illness that occurs when fluid builds up the lungs. ARDS is often fatal.
Day 10: If patients have worsening symptoms, this is the time in the disease's progression when they're most likely to be admitted to the ICU. These patients probably have more abdominal pain and appetite loss than patients with milder cases. Only a small fraction die: The fatality rate has hovered at about 3%.
Day 17: On average, people who recover from the virus are discharged from the hospital after 2 1/2 weeks.
The first symptoms, however, may not come right after a person has been infected. A recent study found that the virus' average incubation period is about five days.

VivaLeBeaver · 23/03/2020 00:39

Well I’m coughing more than 3x a day so according to that earlier picture that could be a corona cough.

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 01:02

Thanks for that piece @Jerseygaly

Interesting that 99% developed a high temperature, but that figure is taken from the hospital patients. So it’s possible there are people with it who don’t have a fever and don’t make it to hospital? Doctors here telling people they probably have it despite them not having a fever, and the govt advice is self-isolate if you have a fever and/OR a persistent cough.

If a fever is a pretty-requisite to having COVID-19, thrn I don’t have it.

notangelinajolie · 23/03/2020 01:08

Finally - 24 hours without a fever. And just when I think I'm going to be alright, I've read on the DM that people start to feel better and then go down hill and end up in intensive care.

HRH2020 · 23/03/2020 06:27

@122 yes I had the runs too (day before fever) but haven't counted it as I had upper abdominal pain too, so thought it was something I ate.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 07:30

Day 11. Still the same with episodes of fever and feeling hot and cold. I have developed diarrhoea now and loss of appetite. So freaking out a bit that I may be taking a turn for the worse. Anyone else with diarrhoea that has appeared later?

I called 111 at midnight, was told a doctor will call me back in 6 hours but so far nothing and if you call them again they can't check the records. Do I have to start the process again?

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 07:35

@liitleninja1 how are you today? Did you have a chest x-ray when you went to A & E? Also what did they advise? how long would it take to shake it off or alternatively get worse? I am on day 11 and worried it's not settled by now.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 07:36

@Littleninja1 i meant - typo in below post

CasparBloomberg · 23/03/2020 07:58

My DS (14) and I both started with episodes of rapid dry coughing (bursts so sudden, strong and sharp it made me gag and consider Tena lady for the first time!) on Tuesday (17th) so started isolation. Other symptoms since then have matched many mentioned on here, bra line tightness/sore chest, sore throat, shortness of breath, feeling normal one minute and fall down tired the next, occasional sudden chills, hot eyes. DS now fine (actually recovered in a couple of days) I’m still occasionally coughing and very mildly affected with some of the other symptoms.

However DS complained of not being able to smell or taste his food on the Sunday BEFORE we came down with this. We thought nothing of it (except feeling slighted that he didn’t like my cooking 😆) until hearing the news today about this being a new identifying symptom of CV. It’s sounding more like this may be a mild version of CV which of course is harder for doctors to document as they are rightly focussed on the seriously ill.

TheWooisStrong · 23/03/2020 08:01

2nd day I’ve woken up feeling a little brighter. Period started typically too, but even aside from that the fogginess in my head has lifted.
V slight tickly cough still.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 08:01

User- I had diarrhoea on day 13/14/15 yes but has settled now although no appetite at all still xx

lashesandflashes · 23/03/2020 08:02

Does anyone have a snotty nose and coughing up green mucus? Sorry gross. I think I might have a regular chest infection but just want to rule out if this is the same as others. Thanks

KingaRoo · 23/03/2020 08:06

The DM is reporting that China figures show that one-time of people who tested positive were either asymptomatic or had delayed onset of symptoms. That suggests that a lot of us are likely to have it even though we don't fit the typical profile.

If so many people have it without symptoms then surely our symptoms e.g. of burning chest that I've never experienced in my life before, suggests that it is likely we do have a mild version of it?

I'm frustrated that the NHS guidelines are so prescriptive when all the data shows there is a broad spectrum of symptoms.

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 08:08

Is anyone else raging hungry or is that just me? Blush

I’m Day 5 of covid symptoms but I did have several of the lesser known symptoms days before that.

KingaRoo · 23/03/2020 08:27

Sorry that should have said one-third of people who tested positive.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 08:38

@Tangledyarn what day are you on and how are you feeling now?

@DandyPenguin i was raging hungry on day 5 and now on day11 have lost my appetite and got diarrhoea

Cailleach · 23/03/2020 08:38

I'm waking up in the morning with bright red fever cheeks, feeling shitty; breathless, wobbly and dizzy, then feeling much better after breakfast. Then ok all day until about 2pm, then knackered. Then in the evening a resurgence of the bright red cheeks, hot face, wheeziness, cold chills.

My body temp is weirdly low although I will admit I don't know what's normal for me....last night is was consistently 35.5 on two different thermometers.

This honestly is the strangest virus I have ever had.
