Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

Dorset camping... yes something like that but bit more stronger then pulled muscle, enough to make me worry it wsla something sinister...it was gone within a day or 2

KayakingOnDown · 22/03/2020 14:11

I have asthma. I'm 39, and have had my fair share of ailments over the years.

I've never had a virus or chest pain like this I my life. It's not a normal virus or one that typically 'does the rounds'.

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 14:22

@roostermum I'm doing reasonably ok today, thank you. Chills earlier, now breathless, but mainly if called by phone (mother's day!) or stair. My peak flow is 325, when I'd normally expect 400, given my health condition. Was 250 when I had pneumonia previously, so nothing in comparison.

I had ,and from memory:

diarrhoea day 1-3
Chills day 2-4 persistently
Some fever but chills more
Really bad chills day 2 and overnight (34 at one point
Sore lungs day 6 plus intermittent chills
Variously sore throat coming and going, back pain, tingling in um er parts!
Chills up and down day 5-7.
Intermittent dry cough-not COPD wet (and I take 2 strong inhalers anyway, which build in salbutamol/ventolin.
Peak flow reduced
Still chills today but only down to 35.6 to 36.1

Dr queried cv Monday, confirmed opinion (probably) Thursday.

That dr knows me well because of my condition and decided I probably have it, which I'll take.

Nobody will confirm it, we all know that. To be honest it makes it worse to have it continually queried-I want a test.

And actually I really need a test, as if I have NOT had it, this has lowered my immune system, so if I went out and then actually got it afterwards, I'd be in trouble. This is because I'm on the vulnerable list despite age (50s) , no other health markers and usual good health (COPD).

I hope everyone is having a reasonable afternoon and that it's sunny outside. It is here.

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 14:26

Ps I've lost 8 pounds since Monday, and I'm within my BMI.

SchrodingersKitty · 22/03/2020 15:22

I'm coughing quite a bit more today, but my peak flow is back to 450 which is good for me and normal for my age (55) and height. Not sure whether to be concerned or not. 'Pinprick' feelings in lungs but no pain.

DH continues to have no symptoms other than 'lassitude'.

I'm trying to write an online lecture for tomorrow, but its rather hard going.

CallMeRachel · 22/03/2020 15:34

@longshot I've missed the previous thread, can you confirm you have been diagnosed as positive for Covid-19?

Reading this I'm not sure if it's for symptoms or confirmed cases

longshot · 22/03/2020 15:41

@CallMeRachel I have not. I did go to hospital (Covid A&E) and was told it probably is but they won’t test anyone now unless admitted (very poorly). Dr told me to request antibody test when it’s available!! I have realised probably nobody on here will have had the test as they would have to have been admitted to hospital unless anyone has done it privately perhaps?

I think there have been two on this thread at some point early on with positive tests but I’m not sure? Anyone else know?

I’m pretty confident I’ve got it as my friend’s son has tested positive and I had been around him but as I say haven’t had the test.

I am starting to feel a bit better now so hoping a few more days and I’ll be back to somewhere near normal.

Roostersmum2 · 22/03/2020 15:48

@longshot did you just turn up at main A&E or did you call ahead? What was the process for you to be seen? Sorry if I've missed you mentioning it earlier

Katkincake · 22/03/2020 15:50

Hello new thread. Day 10//11 for me. Been in bed with worst headache of my life, nothing is touching it. Have sore / burny throat but no cough and less breathlessness today. Temp got up to 37.6 at one point but next reading showed a degree less. So sick of being ill now and not knowing if it is CV

longshot · 22/03/2020 16:06

@roostersmum2 my GP called me (phone consultation) and told me to call 111 who sent me in a few days ago. Since then I have felt bad but gradually improving. As soon as breathing / chest issues subsided I was less concerned.

Casino218 · 22/03/2020 16:29

I'm kind of getting sick of people popping up on here saying ' but have you had the test'?

No because if I bloody had it would mean I'm probably on ICU!!!

Bringringbring12 · 22/03/2020 16:39

@Casino218

People ask because there seems to be such definitive confidence that amongst some that they “have it” when in actual fact, the symptoms they list really could be so many other possibilities.

It’s that absolute “I have it” that people are Hmm about

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 16:50

I you don't feel like you have it yourself, and your doctor doesn't also, why do you care?

There is Pedants corner that way. >>>

Casino218 · 22/03/2020 16:51

If we were confident I doubt we would all be checking our symptoms with each other on here tbh.

But as a respiratory nurse I'm pretty confident I have the virus at this point yes.

I'm pretty confident it's not a cold or the flu.

I may be wrong but that's how I personally feel. I'm sure if I rang my GP he would say the same.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 22/03/2020 16:59

Thanks for the new thread op! It's informative and helpful and comforting for those with symptoms!

Bringringbring12 · 22/03/2020 17:09

* I you don't feel like you have it yourself, and your doctor doesn't also, why do you care?*

Because language is important at a time like this. Talking in definites gives the impression of confirmed cases. Whereas “I think” allows for other possibilities.

It’s about not adding to the scaremongering.

notangelinajolie · 22/03/2020 17:11

Thank you @longshot for the new thread
Not had chance to read through the thread yet. It's 5pm and I'm waiting for Boris update. Really hope he shuts the parks.
Here's my story.
day 1 slight tingle in throat - not sore
day 2 slight tingle in throat - not sore
day 3 slight tingle in throat - not sore
day 4 slight tingle in throat - not sore
day 5 heavy chest
day 6 heavy chest . fever . backache . headache .
day 7 heavy chest . fever. backache . breathless .
day 8 heavy chest . fever. backache . breathless .
day 9 less heavy chest . fever . headache .
day 10 heavy chest . fever. backache . breathless .
day 11 fever .
day 12 heavy chest - no fever Smile

DandyPenguin · 22/03/2020 17:25

I think the issue is there’s a range on this thread and the last one from:

  1. Tested (one or two on previous thread I think?)
  1. Those who went to hospital and were told they had probably had it.
  1. People like me who called NHS-111 and went through triage (several times) to get through to doctor who went through long list of Qs and physical tests and said you have it (those were Dr’s words to me) and the chest pain is pleurisy.
  1. People who’s GPs told them they had it.
  1. People who read list of symptoms and think they probably have it so are wisely acting accordingly.
  1. People who have symptoms but actually gave something else but think it’s this.
  1. People who are anxious and thinking they have it when they don’t.

NOTE: Most if us who we’ve been told we probably have it are talking about symptoms and comparing them. Quite a lot of people are coming on to ask if their symptoms sounds like it’s COVID-19. We obviously can’t advise them.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 22/03/2020 17:26

Im quite scared if this isnt it and Im at the stage a cold/winter virus will floor me like this.... if so there's no way I'll survive coronavirus. Im so so scared

DandyPenguin · 22/03/2020 17:33

Also personally I’m not comparing myself to anyone else’s day by day as we don’t all have the same symptoms at the same time.

I didn’t have a fever when 111 Doc told me I probably had it (she didn’t actually say “probably”, it was implied as no test but I’m putting it in for the pedants). I still don’t have a fever.

My other symptoms are getting worse though.

Point is, there is no one template for a covid OR COVID-SUSPECTER journey.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2020 17:34

Just marking my place. Feeling rubbish today. Day 7. I have CFS/ME so never feel well.

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 17:39

I only wish there was. I don't even have a temperature, quite the opposite, but my dr says that based on what she knows about me, how my body behaves, and also the up and down nature of the temperature even within one day, it probably is. She said she heard shortness of breath when I didn't notice myself, although I certainly would now. I didn't even think I had a cough, because I was expecting a hacking cough, which not everyone has-and for all I know, nobody on my drug regime.

@SquashedFlyBiscuit don't be scared. It will use up your energy. Try to breathe slowly and rest, and take one day at a time. Nearly everyone recovers.

KingaRoo · 22/03/2020 17:42

I still have chest tightness on about day 7. Sore throat much better. But today started with a bad headache, blocked nose and feeling extremely tired and achey. Seems an odd progression.

I'm worried that because I haven't had a cough or temp I've just carried on caring for my DC and DH and may have passed it onto them.

user34254356 · 22/03/2020 17:49

I am on day 9 and today is the first day that I have recorded 37 degrees ie a fever. Should I be calling 111 or is it only if I have breathing issues?

DandyPenguin · 22/03/2020 17:50

Read 111 advice. I thinking’s only if you have breathing issues.
