My lungs feel like they are on fire. Anyone else? - Part 2

Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

I haven't entirely read up.

I thought the last few days I was getting better in the days (7-9.) Tosays day 10 and about 7ish ny chest gets horrible. I know I can breathe it just feels so tight and that I need to do a big cough and cough something up. But it isnt. I hate it so much.

I dont think Im as bad as some. I'd def go to my dr if this was normal times. I have inahlers but it feels different

If this isnt "it" its still horrible and will make my lungs so weak for "it". I want it ovee now :(

I think I’m on Day 3.

I’ve felt pretty off the previous couple of days but today I’ve been almost bed bound. I’m struggling to get my temperature under control and I ache from head to toe. I’ve not been able to shift my headache since yesterday - is this normal?

I’ve developed a slight cough but nothing to write home about. I have asthma so keeping an eye on it.

This really is the pits!

I keep telling myself that this fever is my body fighting.

Still scary though.

Started with a viral rash across my neck. I thought only kids got that symptom?
I feel like utter crap tonight.
My back is burning so bad and I've got awful nausea

I'm shivering and I'm not even cold. Urgh

Did the fever last all night?

Does this sound like CV? About three weeks ago, I came down with something, started with a sore throat on day 1, not badly sore, just sore. By day 2 no sore throat but I had a fever and started very sporadically coughing. Day 3 much the same as day 2 but I really felt very spaced out and rather confused and started getting little headaches. Day 4 I began getting little fleeting pains in my body, still spaced out and confused like behaviour. Over day 5 and 6 I began to feel a little better but on day 7 shortly after I woke, I began having pain in my chest that felt like it was going through to my back and seemed to come and go in waves where the pain would increase then ease off and repeat. It lasted about an hour and i was taken to A&e where they did ecg and bloods, they could find no explanation for it so sent me home. I didn’t get that chest pain again just little headaches and a little coughing that is mostly gone now.

I know without an antibody test no one can be sure whether they have had it or not, just musing if that’s what it was or not likely because the chest pain only lasted an hour.

So far my temp never went higher than 38 and usually was hovering about 37.9 .. I found it would take two lots of paracetamol to bring it down a bit but still between 37.5 and 37.7 which is high for me as my temp is usually around 36.9

I have been lurking on this thread as it's been really interesting to understand the broad range of symptoms of what might be CV.... my dd has had a chesty cough, loss of smell/taste and now a rash spreading over her body. No fever. A day or two of headaches last weekend. Is this sounding at all CV like?

Who else's chest tightenings feel like braxton Hicks contractions but obviously in the chest?

And who feels the chest pressure as if they haven't swallowed food properly?

Yes, I was just reading about kids and they can present like your child.

@AnythingPecan initially chest tightness for me felt like wearing a sports bra a few sizes too small, I couldn’t wear a bra as it’s was too painful. Now (day 16!) it’s more like something Is wrapped around my chest (like a cloth!) not as uncomfortable as it was but definitely ‘there’. I also have loads of shooting but pains all across my chest and under my shoulder blade. Chest heaviness has also been a thing, bit like you’re heavily pregnant and no room for lungs, notice it most when lying down.

orangina have you asked GP about the rash?

@ipanema yes mine was low grade all night but and most of the next day. Hope yours goes away soon

ofwarren: if you don't mind me asking, what did your rash look like? I think I might have had the virus over the last ten days but my two year old was pretty ill just before that. Now I wonder if he had it first. The GP ended up prescribing him antibiotics for an ear infection but he also had a very high temperature, and a very concentrated noticeable red rash (we thought it must be bites, though from what?!) on the back of his neck. Definitely not chickenpox because he had that last year but the spots looked somewhat similar (though were only on the back of the neck, about 12-15 spots).

I have the chest heaviness and ilI can point to wear in my body feels tight too either side. I just want some relief from it as its always worse at night and I panic about waking up unable to breath.

Sometimes it feela like when you swallow water the wrong way. Like it just needs to come out.

I think I have it dont I!? I cant belive I feel this horrible 10 eays into having a cough. Or maybe ita asthma "gone to my chest:. How would anyone know. Last time I rang they didnt want to give steroids in case it was covid. We cant get tested and hospitsl is only for extrem cases. I si hope this doesnt get worse. . Im scared

anyone finding their cough annoying? mine has got worse today and my throat is vey irritated tonight. Not sure how well I will sleep. Is there anything I can take for it tomorrow?

My chest pain has been like this. Half and hour or an hour, quite manageable, then it's gone.

Sore throat for a few days but not sore enough that I'd give it much thought in normal circumstances

Started coughing a bit yesterday - dry and sporadic but not loads.
Didn't cough at all in the day today but started coughing again this evening and it feels a bit chestier. Voice a bit hoarse.

Slight tightness in chest
Mild headache

No fever
No aches

A bit lethargic.

I'm really hoping this is a mild dose coming my way or a general cough. I've been pretty careful and apart from a local shop and walking dog alone in a field, have been pretty much at home for 8 days now.

My DH isn't on any list in terms of vulnerability but he has had pneumonia 3 times and pleurisy twice - he's only 46 and just seems to have crappy lungs.

I feel like breathings hard but my peak flow (new toy) is good at 450. So I cant work out how to describe why its hard!

Mine is the "lace" looking typical viral rash. Not spots. It's across my chest and up the front of my neck and onto my left cheek

DD felt pretty terrible last weekend and there was some heaviness in her chest, but tbh she had a chesty cough back in January and it has been on and off since then. I haven't spoken to the GP as she hasn't really felt unwell in herself and certainly nothing resembling the fiery lungs and weight on chest that you are almost all been describing. I'm not even sure I want to use up the GPs time.

DD's rash started on her leg I think, then has spread, was on her chest yesterday or the day before and now she has a particularly itchy patch on her hand. Antihistamines haven't helped. Until now, I haven't considered it as being CV related.

Anybody ready to report back that they are feeling better and over the worst??
