Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

@Casino218 yes, I think you were my water monitor initially.

Makes sense though, any virus damages cell tissue that need to be flushed out, gives the body a bit more support. Apparently it should be room temperature too so your body doesn't have to use energy warming it up. Not loving tepid water but hoping it all helps.

GidgetGirl · 26/03/2020 14:25

Right, now I’m getting this weird intense burning sensation.. Low down in my throat, but can’t tell if it’s throat or lungs. Never had heartburn in my life before. Hmm..

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 14:32

@GidgetGirl yes that burning is often described on here.

GidgetGirl · 26/03/2020 14:36

Fuck if I’ve got this I just hope I caught it from my partner and not the other way round. I can’t imagine where else I could have got it - I’ve barely been out. A couple of very quick trips to the local shop in the last fortnight and that’s it. He hasn’t had any symptoms apart from feeling very slightly under the weather about a week and a half ago. He was round here three days ago but I made him leave when I started to feel properly coldy/fluey.

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 14:38

I know @GidgetGirl I keep trying to think where I contracted it 17 days ago but it happened. It's very infectious unfortunately.

treedragon · 26/03/2020 14:41

Does anyone have a yacky mouth and or tongue with this?

GidgetGirl · 26/03/2020 14:48

Quick question for people that are down the line with this, as people are probably counting their ‘day 1’ from different points - did you feel unwell before you noticed lung symptoms? I.e. before any coughing, burning, shortness of breath?

treedragon · 26/03/2020 14:48

Also has anyone found this so overwhelming it’s caused tears? Just putting it out there.

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 14:53

@GidgetGirl I counted from itchy eyes and cough - they were my first symptoms.

longshot · 26/03/2020 14:55

@treedragon I am right on the edge today :-( My DH seems to be bored by me 'being ill' whilst I am still concerned I am about to have a heart attack! I think unless you are experiencing it is is impossible for anyone else to empathise. My parents seem obsessed that I have a bacterial infection and need to get a Dr to come out (yeah right) and I am just sitting here trying to entertain two mildly ill DCs and stop myself thinking about my impending death. So yes...on the edge of tears for sure!!

@GidgetGirl this has been my dilemma too. Counted from the day I started having chest tightenings but not sure if that's the correct count as I also have had acid reflux symptoms and headache for at least 5 days prior to that.

AnythingPecan · 26/03/2020 15:01

@treedragon today (somewhere between days 9 and 13 depending on how we're counting) I actually cried. Last night couldn't breathe - chest tightness and restricted breathing and to top it off probably a mini panic attack at that - rode it out and was able to get through it thank god. Scary

UtterTwaddle · 26/03/2020 15:03

@treedragon Yes to the mouth and tongue. My tongue has actually - literally - gone black! Grim...

tempestterra · 26/03/2020 15:08

treedragon. Yes I have oral thrush, never had it before in my life. Yesterday I brushed my tongue a bit too hard and made it bleed! I started counting the day from when I first had a fever and tight band round my chest (9 days ago now). But as more info emerges about symptoms, I'm pretty sure I had this a week before I came down with fever and tight chest. My first symptoms were feeling absolutely freezing suddenly, but no fever, more like walking into a severely air conditioned room, dizziness and headaches.

Yes yes to cold feet!

Actually feeling brighter today, still have tight chest, and diarrhoea. But otherwise am ok.

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 15:08

@treedragon There have been tears and I am not a cryer! It's all compounded by the awful situation we are in too and my anxiety about people I care about..and the fact I've not slept for more than 3 hours a night since I got Ill 3 weeks ago. Totally normal to cry I reckon, and releases tension xx

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 15:08

Yes tearful 2 days ago. Bit better now. I was very tired then.

treedragon · 26/03/2020 15:22

Anyone also had clicky ears and an almost post nasal drip symptom?

IpanemaGallina · 26/03/2020 15:25

Tears here too. I’m frustrated because I felt better yesterday and this morning. But now I feel shaky with fever and stomach is churning. Haven’t eaten anything today.

Just checking for reassurance.

Spacecadetagain · 26/03/2020 15:35

@treedragon yes I’ve had that too .
I’ve cried a few tears .. usually I’d have thought nothing of this .. just assumed it was one of the weird viruses doing the rounds and let it run it’s course probably pushing myself to still go out and about .. it’s the not knowing that’s driving me crazy

ofwarren · 26/03/2020 16:00

Can I join?
I'm on day 3.
Started with bad taste in mouth then what felt like acid reflux.
Then the dry cough came
I've had no temperature so far, just a hot tight chest and flushed cheeks and pain between shoulder blades.
Seems to come in waves

user34254356 · 26/03/2020 16:01

same here - have had two lots of tears on different days when I thought I was getting better and then got worse.

@IpanemaGallina don't worry. Most of us have had good days and then bad days to follow. It seems this illness doesn't follow a straight line but instead a very jagged one.

Spacecadetagain · 26/03/2020 16:14

It seems to lull you into a false sense of security by giving you a good day then comes right back at you . If it’s not CV it’s the weirdest virus I’ve ever had

Throughabushbackwards · 26/03/2020 16:20

I've just had a really fantastic chat with our GP on the phone. He said the following (in short form sorry as I'm not feeling great).

  • Sounds like I have definitely got/had CV as all of my symptoms are very typical
  • Seems as if I have sustained some significant lung damage from the virus and that this is very typical and it is why I am feeling so rough and fatigued (lack of oxygen)
  • The damage should not be permanent for someone of my age and in good health (I'm 40-45yo Grin)
  • I should not lie down flat to rest and should prop myself on pillows to sleep in case any fluid pools in the lungs
  • I should try to do some calm and gentle chest physio/deep breathing exercises as this will also help to keep the lungs to clear, but should be careful not to get significantly out of breath as that could escalate into gasping and panicked breathing and I could black out (!)
  • I should only drink hot drinks as has has read evidence from China that this helps
  • If I get a sudden high fever or a persistent productive cough it may be a secondary bacterial infection and I should call back and get antibiotics

Hope this helps to reassure some of you Thanks

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 16:28

@Throughabushbackwards yes I can feel I have definitely suffered some lung damage. But our bodies repair. I'm 53 so will be harder but we will.

hollytom · 26/03/2020 16:29

I’m now on day 13. Concerned about shortness of breath and pain in my chest which has now spread to my side as well. Managed to speak to GP who is giving me a prescription for antibiotics and said if things don’t improve to phone back 111. She said that the information that she had from the reports from China that it was taking several weeks for people to recover. Everything in the media points to mild cases recovering in 7 days but that does not seem to be the case for me. It was reassuring to speak to a medical professional as I was starting to doubt myself why am I not better? I must be dragging this out I’m a hypochondriac.
