Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

@onlinelinda how old are you? Many people get more minor symptoms and it won't take as long to recover then. I'm 53 and have had asthma.

longshot · 26/03/2020 06:59

Morning, day 16 for me.

Had weird feelings in my ribs last night before bed, slept well but have woken and they are still there. Also still have heavy feeling in chest, slight soreness in kidney area and general sort of chest tightness.

I’m not struggling to breathe but I feel sort of constricted again.

I’m really fed up now. I am anxious that at 16 days and 38yrs old I should be recovering and I don’t feel I am.

I don’t know what to do. Really feel I would like some blood tests to rule out my immune system having gone haywire but I don’t think that’s going to happen unless I literally can’t breathe.

Sending good wishes to all today and hoping for some recoveries. Flowers

Morning all

Day 15ish. Woken up with diarrhoea and the back pain between the shoulder blades is back. Feel just absolutely exhausted. Yesterday I felt better all day until the evening, so perhaps I overdid it.
Another day of pottering round the house.

IpanemaGallina · 26/03/2020 07:02

Day 5 for me, had a better nights sleep. Woke up a couple of times in the night with chest pain but not so breathless now.

I feel my fever has gone and I’m left with intermittent chest pain and deep chest pain when I try and take a deep breath. My mid back area aches like I’ve being doing lots of gardening! I wish.

Thanks for this thread. It’s very calming.

TheWooisStrong · 26/03/2020 07:04

@longshot I’m a similar age and stage to you. Worrying isn’t it?
I think nowadays we vaccinate against everything, and just aren’t used to serious illness. Think of yourself as convalescing. I’m convinced I’m on the mend but it’s going to be a slow slow process.

longshot · 26/03/2020 07:13

Thanks @theWoolisStrong yes we are a similar stage aren’t we. I think you’re right we probably are improving. Yesterday I woke with no chest pain and I felt so pleased about that!! I think I’m just worried as sort of swollen in my ribs area but perhaps this is just part of it getting out of my system.

More generally I do feel a bit better now but am still low energy!

I think I’ve just got quite fed up with it today as it’s a sort of constant pain and I thought I would go to bed and sleep it off. Maybe some more paracetamol will help.

Watch the Andy Hardwick video about the effects on him. It's in Guardian but probably all over google etc.

longshot · 26/03/2020 07:25

@Casino218 thanks I will do now

How many of you with symptoms are currently isolated at home with children?

I've been at home with mine for eight days, my symptoms started yesterday, I'm limiting physical contact, hand washing etc. but realistically sharing a house will they have picked it up already?

DH is sleeping in the spare room and we're using separate bathrooms.

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 07:46

@TurboTheChicken you are infectious prior to symptoms developing so I would predict they have it. My 14 year old had what we think was it but a really mild version. Blocked nose, achy, headache.

TurboTheChicken · 26/03/2020 07:55

That's what I thought @Casino218 , lots of online advice saying don't share utensils or get within two metres. But until my symptoms started they were in my bed so a bit late to worry about it really?

user34254356 · 26/03/2020 08:01

Yes same here with my kids. I think it's a bit late to isolate from them. They all seem to have coughs.

Recap to start of my day 9 and a question: i had a night of chest pains and heaviness/tightness, woke up feeling lot better this morning but with low grade fever! so after 24 hours of being fever free, my fever is back.

Anyone else had the same? I wonder if I am developing a secondary infection potentially and might need antibiotics?

@longshot glad you are feeling you are moving in the right direction.

Meercatmama · 26/03/2020 08:05

Day 11 for me Woke up really early felt ok Decided to have a bath and wash my hair now feel a bit breathless and tired. Had a bit of watery eyes first thing this morning As someone said above it just keeps giving Now resting on my bed until I can gain a bit of strength. Am I still infectious as I have been self isolating in my bedroom away from my husband since day 1

Wacadu · 26/03/2020 08:05

I've had chest tightening for a couple of days and yesterday I started coughing. No temperature but felt flushed on and off. Had to go to bed at 8.30pm because I was so exhausted. Still coughing today.

Owlsintowels · 26/03/2020 08:07

Hi, checking in with symptoms in day 4.
I'm still low level, sore throat and fever staying mainly under 38.0.
DD (6) got a fever overnight and has a sore throat this morning so I think it's gping to be rolling through our house in the next week, I assume I got it first at work or on public transport and have been passing it around. Just quite glad we didn't see many people last week and were keeping distances etc when we did

Let's hope this ride isnt too bad

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 08:15

@user yes symptoms are coming and going for us all including temp. It's the body fighting the virus.

user34254356 · 26/03/2020 08:25

@Casino218 just when you feel you are getting better and then back two steps again! I will soon be running out of paracetamol at this rate. Hope you are better this morning!

@meercatmama i guess official advice is 14 days so I think you are close to being non infectious?

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 08:31

@user34254356 now I've been up a couple of hours I can't believe how much better I'm feeling. The chest tightness seems to have decreased massively. I know in the afternoons I can feel worse but right now I know I'm on the mend. Take care x

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 08:45

Definitely one step forward two steps back, I think that's totally normal for a virus we have no immunity too, but nearly 3 weeks in am feeling very stressed this morning, am so done with feeling this awful and being stuck in bed. It just feels like really hard work.

Littleninja1 · 26/03/2020 08:55

I've woken up this morning feeling much better. Breathing is good right now.

However, I am so cautious to celebrate knowing how this virus likes to come and go. I'm going to take things really easy today again.

@tangledyarn @longshot @TheWooisStrong @Casino218 sending lots of love and clear breaths. Longshot I have had slight bruise type pain my my ribs on and off. I'm not a medic but could this be inflammation from your lungs? My GP said normally they'd prescribe anti inflammatory for my pain but not recommended for C19. Could you phone GP?

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 08:57

@littleninja1 yeah my gp said the same to me.. no anti inflammatorys on the covid diet, which is unfortunate as I usually take naproxen daily. Keep on top of paracetamol + hot water bottle for that pleuritic type pain X

longshot · 26/03/2020 08:57

@tangledyarn that’s how I feel today! I could sit in bed I’m so fed up and my chest aches and is tight but I’m actually so annoyed I’ve got up and am doing to washing. I’ll probably make myself worse but I’m actually bored or resting (maybe a good sign). I am so anxious about my chest. I can’t stop wondering why it is still sore and heavy but then I think I can breathe and if I can walk around and put washing out they are not going to be concerned when I call the GP or 111 so what’s the point!

I have also run out of paracetamol. I’m wondering if on day 16 I can go out and get some? Think I could manage it in the car. Surely I am passed contagiousness?!

OP posts:
longshot · 26/03/2020 08:59

@tangledyarn do you have asthma or any other conditions? I don’t have anything really and am usually fit and healthy so if it’s taken this much of a toll on me I can see how it will others particularly with asthma. Sending you well wishes and hoping we beat this soon. I’m holding on for day 18!!

OP posts:
Littleninja1 · 26/03/2020 08:59

And a hand hold to everyone struggling. We'll get through this

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 09:10

@longshot yeah have asthma and some other underlying conditions so am no doubt that's affecting things a lot. Yeah it's the shortness of breath and chest stuff that's really tough, it's just so exhausting. I washed my hair yesterday and it really set me back, temp went up again, breathing got really bad again, throat was really sore and just felt really weak and faint and unwell again, but at least I'm slightly cleaner in my misery! and things have settled a bit since so will just stay in bed today.

We've just got to remember it's a long fluctuating illness, you can feel really Ill but still be ok medically to just ride it out at home. Take care everyone and stay as calm as possible, distract and reassure yourself, am a mental health professional when I'm not in a tangle and i really believe that's probably the best thing we can do for ourselves right now Xxx
