Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

I'm feeling worse tonight, with chest tightness feeling worse and a bit of pain in back between shoulders, and a slight cough.

I'm on Day 10 of chest tightness but had a sore throat for a week before that. Scared that it's at this point that some people go downhill.

I can breathe fine its just a scary burning feeling. How would I know if I'm not getting enough oxygen? My pulse and temperature is normal.

ShastaBeast · 25/03/2020 21:58

Throughabushbackwards - did you see the woman on the BBC who’d recovered (I think in China)? She reported breathlessness weeks after when doing activity. The virus damages the lungs but hopefully it can heal and get back to normal.

I forgot to mention tummy pains as if I was about to have diarrhoea, but didn’t.

onlinelinda · 25/03/2020 22:01

My throat is sore. Chills this am till 11, and then sore chest and back this pm . Gone now. but otherwise I've had a much better day today than previously. Day 11.

Also , tricky day at home with ds.

Hang in there people. It will get better. Honestly if some of us with our severe health conditions can come through this, YOU can. You really can.

tempestterra · 25/03/2020 22:11

kingkaroo up thread someone posted some really useful info (I can't remember the source) which showed the higher risk days are from 6-8, with things generally improving after this.
Hope you are feeling better soon Thanks

tempestterra · 25/03/2020 22:12

Glad you've had a better day onlinelinda

Stealthtoast · 25/03/2020 22:37

I just wrote such a long post and my phone ran out of battery and lost it all! Glad to have such a useful thread.
I have CV, no fever or coughing but short of breath plus lost smell etc. Have any of you been told how bad shortness of breath should be before you call 111/999?

onlinelinda · 25/03/2020 22:57

Thank you @tempestterra . Still awake too! Hope you're coping.

onlinelinda · 25/03/2020 22:58

@Stealthtoast when you feel you need extra support or help. Don't take risks.

onlinelinda · 25/03/2020 23:00

@kingaroo, you can breathe fine. Focus on that, and keep doing it

Roostersmum2 · 25/03/2020 23:23

Really pleased to hear that you're doing better @onlinelinda and long may it continue. I was worried for you given your health condition when you said how poorly you felt so your update is very good news indeed Smile

notangelinajolie · 25/03/2020 23:42

Day 15 and I feel fine again but I've been here before and know that tomorrow everything could change.
My worst day was day 7 when the breathless feeling kicked in. Since then some days have been better then others. Two steps forward and one step back kind of thing.
I think the key is to stay calm and if you can get yourself off to bed. Obvs call 111 if you are struggling.

InglouriousBasterd · 25/03/2020 23:51

Stealth - my paramedic friend told me to call if I have more than 25 resps per minute. That’s what they’re using as a guideline. Average is 12-20, under 12 and over 25 is considered concerning.

tangledyarn · 26/03/2020 00:02

That's a good guide. Mine is still fast but not over 25. A few days ago I just felt like I couldn't breathe through my nose at all any more, it just felt like a tiny straw so i was just mouth breathing all the time which made talking hard. Am hoping I'm not going back there as I'm 2.5 weeks in but it's very slow and very up and down with some really bad hours and then some better ones. Tommorow is another day folks! X

TurboTheChicken · 26/03/2020 02:01

Can I join in?

I have a burning sensation in my chest and back, temperature is moving between 37.1-37.8. I had a sore throat and ear ache for 2-3 days previously to this with some loss of taste. I'm feeling feverish, shivering.

We were already isolating as my husband has cancer and is waiting to start chemo, we are on day seven of isolation.

I have isolated further at home by retreating to my bedroom with no children allowed in.

I don't know what to do with myself.

Just lying here feeling guilty that my husband is saying he can't go for his appointment on Friday when he should be getting his first hormone injection to start his cancer treatment.

I have two young children and I'm feeling scared.

Lovelesslily · 26/03/2020 02:21

Hi, been following but sadly now feeling like it's more definite I likely have "it" ...

Symptoms
A few days before had a sore throat, slightly tight chested feeling then from Sunday...
Day 1 Chills, shivering, could not get warm, tight and sore chest, diarrhoea
Day 2 more of day 1
Day 3 Fever but felt otherwise well
Day 4 No fever, pains in chest and back, breathless when trying to walk anywhere (from bathroom to bedroom)

Now woken up night of day 4 uncontrollable shivering and freezing with burning sensation in chest. Feel I can breath but have to consciously make effort to.
I am so scared I am going to get worse and won't be able to get any help :(

Worse still, my dad lives with me (70 with various underlying health conditions... not in the 12 week isolation club but can't be far behind them in terms of unlikely ness to survive this....) I have isolated myself in my room since Sunday but know it was likely not enough.
I am terrified I have killed him. He maintains he feels fine but you do until you don't....

TurboTheChicken · 26/03/2020 02:40

Hello @Lovelesslily , didn't want you to feel alone in the early hours.

I'm awake, feverish and reading stuff on Twitter which isn't helping.

Lovelesslily · 26/03/2020 02:45

Thank you @TurboTheChicken (sorry new here not sure how to tag)

I've stopped shaking now so that is something. Trying to stay calm as I know I will make myself worse but it is so difficult.

TurboTheChicken · 26/03/2020 02:49

I found this thread quite calming, lots of people that probably have it and are coping.

I wish they would ramp up the testing.

Lovelesslily · 26/03/2020 02:55

Yes if I could be tested at least I'd know ... currently every tiny twinge has me in a panic.

I now feel like I'm getting a blocked nose/phlemgy...so confused as not had any real "cold" symptoms other than the sore throat so far. And would that mean it is not CV? There just seem to be such variety of symptoms it is anyones guess at the moment with no testing...

Casino218 · 26/03/2020 03:02

Hi Day 17 today I've had a good sleep and no chest pain or breathing difficulties. I'm getting to know this virus quite well now though and I know later it may return. However hopefully each day to a lesser extent.

I read somewhere yesterday that their can be long lasting damage to lungs in terms of fibrosis. It may be when things calm down we will need x rays etc. Last week I was out running 3 k this week I struggle to walk up the garden path!

Yesterday I started a call to 111 because of my chest pain but after listening to their pre recorded message that I wasn't struggling to perform normal activities like getting upstairs, dressing myself etc so I left it. We are in unusual times.

I think this is going to take time now. I have realised over the last 2 days that it is not suddenly going to vanish but the chest pain will just lessen gradually over weeks. No cough now at least.

user34254356 · 26/03/2020 03:18

Starting day 9 - fever is gone but i have the chest pain and burning feeling that everyone is talking about here. Has anyone sought any medical advice on what this is?

For those later in the process, how many days has it taken to get rid of it?

I am also extremely breathless after carrying out my daily activities like changing myself etc.

dreamm · 26/03/2020 05:39

Start of day 4 for me.

I quite anxious about how this will progress.

onlinelinda · 26/03/2020 05:57

@roostermum thank you. Half wondering now if I've had something else? Didn't expect to feel better after 11 day's. Time will tell.

I hope you're doing ok, plus hoping everyone else sleeping better than in am!

stayathomegardener · 26/03/2020 06:22

I think you are right with your longer term timescales Casino218, my very frail neighbour in her late 80's is heading into her 5th week of this.
Still having occasional lung burning and episodes of pain in her ribs or back, very tired too she also has good and bad days but overall she is improving.

Definitely no signs of serious relapses.
