Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

@Casino218 The fluttering was so odd and the burning indigestion. I thought it was all the catarrh but maybe not.

longshot · 25/03/2020 18:37

@Casino218 - BP is 132/80 about an hour ago, yesterday morning it was 128/76 and pulse was 83 then. Not sure if that is relevant.

Has anyone else experienced soreness in the lowest rib, left side? Mine is really quite achey now and I am worrying that something is wrong and making it protrude. Not sure this could even happen but just feels quite odd. I also have the sense at some point in my life I have had this before but no idea when or why!

This app has just launched today with researchersat kings college to help slow the spread of #COVID19 and identify at risk cases sooner by self-reporting your symptoms daily, even if you feel well🙏🏼. Download the app
covid.joinzoe.com/

Please share the app with everyone you know on WhatsApp. They need to get this to a lot of people fast to collect enough data to see the hidden cases - the iceberg if you like that we are sailing into. Thank you! App is fully functional and will be more beautiful over the next few days!

Share the app and share your “well/ill” status and let’s get some data for the policy makers to work with.

Stay safe; stay healthy. ❤

extremely breathless after climbing a flight of stairs and couldn't complete my sentence. Oxygen at resting is still ok. Do I need to call an ambulance you think?

TheWooisStrong · 25/03/2020 18:58

Day 14 ish. Finally a bit better.
Still tired but I’ve managed to potter round the house today without feeling hit by a truck.
Read some research that Covid causes low potassium, so I had a day eating bananas/sweet potatoes/avocado/cucumber/oranges yesterday - can’t do any harm as all healthy and might have helped a bit!

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/03/2020 19:02

Day 11 here. Second day of antibiotics. I am finally starting feel so much better. My cough was awful yesterday. Much less today. The pain in my chest has lessened and the mucus at the back of my nose is becoming more liquid / lessening. I think I’m finally getting over this god awful thing, whatever it is..... Thank goodness!

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 19:04

@longshot. That's a normal BP and pulse rate x

Bringringbring12 · 25/03/2020 19:08

@user34254356

I am inclined to think that a) oxygen at resting is ok and b) you’re fine to post a message on this thread, that an ambulance would be a waste if precious resource BUT I’m not a medic and don’t know you and certainly not with you.... so only you can make the call.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 19:09

@user yes I would ring 111 line and they will advise

stayathomegardener · 25/03/2020 19:14

@Casino218 you need Lugols iodine at 12%.
Google Dr Sarah Myhill, she has a short video it on how to use it.

You can make your own salt pipe if they are now sold out.

user34254356 · 25/03/2020 19:15

thank you - yes resting is ok so i am now on hold with 111. Will update soon. Really appreciate the advice

stayathomegardener · 25/03/2020 19:20

Onlinelinda you are probably right, who knows but it feels like I'm doing something and hopefully it will prevent my DD and DH going down with it.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 19:29

@stayathomegardener thanks I will check that out

TheWooisStrong · 25/03/2020 20:08

Urgh. Relapse again. I’d felt better (if weak and tired all day) but the slight breathlessness, fatigues and aches are back. Hopefully tomorrow will be another improvement.

user34254356 · 25/03/2020 20:30

111 call btw just drops after 20 mins but trying to manage at home for now and hoping I can just sleep it off. Easier said than done.

Since I don't have a fever anymore, should I be continuing with paracetamol?

user34254356 · 25/03/2020 20:31

@TheWooisStrong sorry to hear that. What day are you on? Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

TheWooisStrong · 25/03/2020 20:47

@user34254356 day 14. To be fair today is the best day I’ve had yet, and I just need to pace myself. Slow recovery, don’t overdo it.

I hate being ill.

longshot · 25/03/2020 21:02

@theWoolisStrong I am the same as you (day 14) and have been quite good and rested but still have weird aches tonight in my ribs and was exhausted this afternoon, had a rest and perked up though.

Other than the rib pain I currently feel OK so hoping tomorrow will be better still...

I started to feel better later this afternoon then this evening felt awful again .. my ribs are so sore.. ughh

Throughabushbackwards · 25/03/2020 21:25

I've followed these threads from the start as I've experienced very similar symptoms, now, particularly, the chest pain and breathlessness that others are describing here. I think I posted way way back somewhere. Updating now as I finally caved (after days of DH pleading with me to do it) and called 111 because I'm just not improving at all. I thought my experience of the call may he useful to some. I'm day 13 from when I first fell ill BTW.

In short, I felt the the chap on the 111 call had a tight script and was very keen to move me on. He told me a number of times that I probably have some other kind of flu because I couldn't tell him that I "currently" have a dry cough or a fever. I explained that I most certainly was exposed to a cluster of CV cases at my workplace and had at least 6 days of "the" symptoms previously but now I am left with chest pain and trouble breathing if I exert myself - even something like standing up too fast will cause me to have to pause and gasp for breath. He said "are you in bed all day or up and about?" to which I answered "a bit of both at the moment". He said again that it sounds more like a common cold or flu and that if I feel I can't breathe I need to call an ambulance.

Now, I'm certainly not complaining about any of this as I can see that they are under such pressure at the moment, but it seemed to me that they don't really have anything to say about the tail end of the symptoms that many on this thread are experiencing. I'm not in need of an ambulance or hospitalisation, but I am extremely worried about the state of my lungs because it continues to be quite debilitating and I am simply not improving. I have a physically demanding job and I'm going to need my lungs to be functioning at some point in the future! I'd hoped for some kind of information or direction as to what may help, or even some reassurance that this is the usual course of things, but was pretty well dismissed. Just have to grin and bear it I guess.

Thank you to PP for the potassium hint. I'll give that a try.

KayakingOnDown · 25/03/2020 21:35

@Throughabushbackwards that call handler doesn't sound very helpful, or well informed. You have experienced all the classic symptoms, in an illness that can manifest in various ways. I spoke to two different GPs and outlined symptoms like yours and they both said I have it.

The pastor in Belfast that was on the news today has tested positive and he didn't experience any symptoms at all except a tight chest and breathing difficulties.

KayakingOnDown · 25/03/2020 21:37

Having said all that, there is very little they are doing for anyone right now unless you're at death's door. Right now it's a matter or getting through it and surviving it. We can worry about our lungs later. 😔

And hopefully get the antibody test at some point.

DandyPenguin · 25/03/2020 21:44

That’s the thing. If we have it, how will we know what our lungs are like?

ShastaBeast · 25/03/2020 21:46

Day 13 I think, or 10 from first cough. Long sleep, woke with sore eyes, headache and blocked nose. Felt too poorly to go out for my daily “exercise”. Barely left my bed. Cough is a bit different and slightly chesty, but not much mucus actually produced. Arms feel weak. Plus temperature is fluctuating, but not a fever. Took steroid inhaler so perhaps that’s changed the cough. Still had to use ventolin twice with several puffs. Considering the antibiotics if the chesty cough gets worse. Although bacterial pneumonia doesn’t seem a common outcome as far as I can tell.

Someone reported coughing more when upright and I definitely find this, I don’t cough as much lying down. I cough more when talking too.

Saw this on Twitter describing the burning chest. mobile.twitter.com/GMB/status/1241995543720722437

Throughabushbackwards · 25/03/2020 21:49

Did you speak to the GP on the phone Kayak ? It's helpful to know that you were reassured. I'm worried to call and bother our GP at the moment, I'll wait a day or two more and see how I feel I think.
