Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

I had a thing about 10 days ago and when I called 111 they said it wasn’t the virus. But I don’t know.
It started with an incredibly sore throat and exhaustion.
Really runny nose.
Strange feeling in my chest like very bad reflux/indigestion
Strange fluttering in my chest.
I just felt rough. One one occasion I had a slight temperature. I was very tired but couldn’t sleep.
But no cough and no real temperature.
So maybe it was just a cold but the indigestion chest thing was so strange.

KayakingOnDown · 25/03/2020 16:08

Sky News - Antibody tests to be available within days. To be purchased at minimal cost via Amazon or Boots.

Needsomegoodnews · 25/03/2020 16:14

@everythingisginandroses sorry you’re suffering too but also glad to hear someone else can’t shift the fever. Hopefully we’ll be there soon.

I’m also reassured that this seems to drag on and on for many people and doesn’t necessarily mean it’s getting worse or you’re not getting better. I’ve never had anything that’s restricted me to my bed for so long before and it’s worrying..

user34254356 · 25/03/2020 16:30

@spacecadetagain i also feel i am having constant panic attack and this thread is the only place to calm my nerves.

Great suggestion from Ninja - best if you have a plan in place and hopefully it won't come to that anyway.

tangledyarn · 25/03/2020 16:31

I had a really high heart rate and really fast breathing for a few days although a bit slower today. For about 4 days it was around 110-120 constantly.I think today its 80 something. Normally its in the low 60s. The GP wasnt worried about my heart rate. She just said it was my body compensating and making sure I was getting enough oxygen whilst unwell. Obviously get advice if you are worried but i dont think you need to panic about it.

tangledyarn · 25/03/2020 16:34

Also if you can try and distract yourself away from your body and focus on other things it will really help. Anxiety can raise our heart rate a lot! I know it is hard though.

DandyPenguin · 25/03/2020 16:57

@PatsyStone39 oh no poor you! How long were you kept in hospital for? What was it like on the ward?

@KayakingOnDown good news about antibody test, thanks for that.

I’m Day 8 and although I could barely sleep last night and have slept much of today Instead, I feel better ... I think?!

It feels like fluid in my chest is being produced now, I can hear and feel it moving around. Hopefully that means that the phlegm is being produced and I can get it out and recover, rather than meaning I’m likely to drown from fluid in my lungs ...

Ellapaella · 25/03/2020 17:12

It is normal to have a mildly elevated heart rate when you are fighting an infection.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 17:14

@Patsystone39 was it you coughing up the blood I read. Glad your out of that now.

I've made it to Morrison's now. Still lots of chest pains but I reckon if I could do that I'm on the mend. It's day 16 for me

@Bestbe that fluttering is definitely a symptom we have all shared on here.

This virus is like nothing I've ever had before. It's so different from a cold or flu and I don't think you appreciate it unless you experience it unfortunately.

DandyPenguin · 25/03/2020 17:18

My 7 days of internal self-isolation from the rest of my family in our house- is up today. Obviously we’re quarantining for 14 as a family. I’m just not sure whether I should continue to self-isolate from them as I still have symptoms of cough and chest pain.

Spacecadetagain · 25/03/2020 17:20

@Littleninja1 and @user34254356 Yes I’ve contacted the support group in the village who can get stuff for me .. I felt a bit better after taking some calpol (no paracetamol left ) and standing in the garden watching dd on her trampoline . My friend who lives forty mins away would come and get dcs and I’ve told x h and other grown up kids (they all live three hours away ) Hopefully it won’t come to that !

TigerJoy · 25/03/2020 17:23

Re: testing, my resident ICU doctor says some people will test negative especially if the virus is deep in your lungs, and that it's not terribly reliable

Also he described it as a kind of pneumonia.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 17:26

@Dandypenguin no you have done your 7 so won't be infectious. If you still have symptoms just stay off work but you can now just follow the lockdown rules.

stayathomegardener · 25/03/2020 17:26

Day 13 and definitely improving, still very fatigued; a flight of stairs is a challenge but I've walked in the garden ok. Chest is still tender but breathing issues and palpitations gone. sleep still elusive despite exhaustion. And appetite is returning which is good.
I had an infared sauna last night and baked in the sun all day today I'm sure this helped. Plus the gallons of water @Casino218!

Be interesting to see if this is a recovery curve or (another) blip.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 17:31

Do you think there is a time that should call doctor if chest pains don't go? I'm day 16 now.

goose1964 · 25/03/2020 17:31

I'm on day 3,I think, my cough is less often but still barky with a wheeze on the end. My chest has been right but now I have chest pain. I thought I am feeling better in myself , this morning I had no energy but running to the loo seems to have given me more energy.

stayathomegardener · 25/03/2020 17:37

@Casino218 I know it might sound a bit odd but I've been inhaling iodine with a salt pipe three times a day as advised by DD's consultant as it's anti microbial.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 17:43

@stayathomegardener had to look that up. Do you think I can buy this on amazon at moment?

DandyPenguin · 25/03/2020 17:49

Thanks @Casino218! Thought that was probably the case. I’d love a bath, been confined to my en-suite shower room & toilet. (I appreciate this is a privileged problem to have!)

In your situation I’d call NHS-111 Casino. They do say to call if symptoms don’t improve.

onlinelinda · 25/03/2020 17:56

I can't see how that would work, as the virus would already be in the lungs.

longshot · 25/03/2020 17:56

@Casino218 My chest pains have eased today but are still there mildly. Now slight sharp pains in central chest (mild) and pains in lower left side bottom rib area. Have yours got worse or better but still there?

Also does anyone know what would be good or bad blood pressure / pulse rate to look out for? Am i looking for a high pulse rate and low blood pressure to indicate my body is in distress or something different? Have been given BP kit and not sure what I am looking for!!

My pulse rate was 80-90s last few days but today is 64. I am feeling better so that makes sense but now worrying it's too low. I think I am over-worrying but there have been some really scary stories today (MUST NOT READ NEWS).

NotFattyBomBomAnymore · 25/03/2020 18:03

Can anyone help me figure out my symptoms.

I came down very suddenly with high fever (went up to 104 on my thermoscan thermometer but I was still lucid so didn’t bother GP) on 7th Feb. Very strong chills like ice in my veins, quite painful actually. Morning sweats that actually trickled. No other symptoms until a violent dry cough started on day 5. Cough tailed off by day 7 and was intermittent so normal living resumed.

Cough turned mucousy and remained but not violent. Two weeks ago really runny nose started, sinuses full of it but no pain. Continued mucousy cough.

Now 3 days ago a sore throat started. I thought throat was due to post nasal drip but now it’s got worse this afternoon, with headache and slight temp (99).

Is it possible I have actually picked up 3 different viruses in 6 weeks, one after the other? Or could this be ongoing from the 7th Feb? I’m never ill and currently the fittest and healthiest I’ve been in around 20 years so I do not understand why I’ve been ill for so long!

I also had a virus at Christmas which was sore throat, temp and general exhaustion and feeling ‘ill’. So that’s 4 viruses in 3 months!

Could it be the first virus was COVID and the bastard keeps mutating and coming back? Sounds odd I know but I can’t believe that I keep being ill so was thinking I’m not getting rid of it especially as there are reports of people feeling better and then getting hit by it again?

My whole household who are never ill have been continuously struck down in this timeframe as well.

Any thoughts?

tupperwaretowers · 25/03/2020 18:05

Day 12 from start of niggly back pain between shoulder blades, day 8 from start of sore throat. No temp or cough to note. Flushed face at times though. Slight breathing issues but probably because I’m aware of every single breath I take at the moment. Chest is a little gurgly. Really tired and drained. Logic says under normal circumstances I would plough on and have a grumble at work, my other side says otherwise. Comforting to see many of us are in the same position and will get through it. Self isolating at the moment.

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 18:06

@longshot pulse in adults 60-80 normal. They are saying raised pulse above 110.

Blood pressure depends on age but what is your bp and age?

Casino218 · 25/03/2020 18:15

@NotFattyBomBomAnymore it's only my opinion but I doubt the virus at Christmas was it. Lots of people caught flu in January as did I. This does not feel like flu.
