Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

I read somewhere that 99% of the confirmed cases in China had a fever? I think if you are missing the fever it could be something else (although still should be self isolating just in case I think?!)

Friday I felt like I'd been snorting Bleach. Since then, no smell or taste. Anyone else? This is making me so sad. What if I never smell my children's heads again??

Yes, that's how mine feel, really weird sensation that I don't think I have ever had before? I definitely have a diminished sense of smell, although that could be psychological I guess? High temp definitely isn't though, it is what it is!

Casino218 · 24/03/2020 11:55

@isitor you will smell your children's heads again. Don't worry

LambriniSocialist · 24/03/2020 11:55

I'm sure you will smell your kids heads again though at some point!

Casino218 · 24/03/2020 11:56

@Cailleach picture please

blossombabies · 24/03/2020 12:21

mine turned out to be a chest infection. day 2 of antibiotics and i feel so much better!

pinkoneblueone · 24/03/2020 12:23

My symptoms had eased I was having a better day despite the flutters they were 20 second holds and i only did what I could. I am currently waiting on a call back from 111 as my husband's boss's wife is a doctor and she suggested we called them.

pinkoneblueone · 24/03/2020 12:25

This has been very very up and down. Today I have clogged sinuses and my back is a bit sore also my anxiety it playing up so my breathing feels worse. I am not sure if this is the cause of my chest flutters or not but I am worried.

Recoverandthrive · 24/03/2020 12:35

This of you who experienced diarrhoea in the early days was it just when you went to the toilet you found you had it or needed to go repeated times?

tempestterra · 24/03/2020 12:42

recoverandthrive good user nameSmile I found initially it was just when I needed the loo, but now it's all the time, mornings are worse for the runs evenings worse for nausea sorry if TMI!

dreamm · 24/03/2020 12:47

Hi everyone.

I started showing symptoms of the start of something yesterday.

I've taken a note of how I've been feeling. Does this sound the same? It's been coming in waves - has anyone else had that?

Day 1 - high temperature, sore throat, hot flushed face, ulcers on roof of mouth
Day 2- heavy body, difficulty moving or lifting arms/legs, headache, nausea, breathless when talking, pressure on sinuses between eyebrows

I don't have all the above symptoms all the time or at the same time. It's different things I've noticed.

I'm self isolating in my bedroom but I have my husband and 2 young kids in the house so if I have coronavirus I would have been shedding the virus everywhere Sad

Do you think it sounds like it so far?

Recoverandthrive · 24/03/2020 12:52

Thanks tempestterra, did you have any other symptoms before that started? Such as temp/fever?

user34254356 · 24/03/2020 12:56

Hi everyone

I have reset my day count to day 7. It's been terrible day and night as my fever is not going down despite taking paracetamol at regular intervals. NHS111 still haven't called me back, despite me logging a call twice. Any advice? Fever is low grade between 37-37.5 but my body feels quite hot and i have clammy hands and feet. Is clammy hands a good sign?

Might try cold compresses

tempestterra · 24/03/2020 13:01

recoverandthrive no not the first morning, but as the day crept on I got more odd symptoms, chest feeling tight, like wearing a bra several sizes to small, and slightly chilled, but no fever, and a headache. And then the 'lungs on fire' which I now think is reflux. By the evening I was running a slight temp. And then by the next day my guts were in freeflow! The one thing I'm really beginning to notice though, is how the virus (whatever it is) seems to effect people slightly differently. I think this is part of the problem of trying to map it. I'm on day 7 now and have a rhino sitting on my chest again, but otherwise doing okaySmile

tempestterra · 24/03/2020 13:03

Hi user I found last night the hardest so far too, and I'm also on day 7. Sending you big positive vibes and hope you are feeling better soon, Daffodil

tempestterra · 24/03/2020 13:05

Oops forgot to mention, I think clammy hands is not unsusal with a fever.

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 13:20

User. Think feeling hot and clammy is normal if you are feeling unwell but it sounds like your temp is mostly normal so dont worry. Try to keep drinking lots of fluids and rest..and to stay as calm as poss by distracting yourself as feeling clammy can also be caused by anxiety. Rest up!

SchrodingersKitty · 24/03/2020 13:29

Day 14 and feeling worse. Heart racing. Shaky. Can't really work. More coughing and more breathless. Muscle aches and weakness especially in arms. On hold to 111 and then cut off when I said I was under 60. On hold to GP for 12 minutes then cut off just as I was last patient with announcement that they were on staff training for an hour.

Tried 111online form. First set of answers got 'call 999 for an ambulance'. Second slightly different one - about degree of breathlessness - got 'stay at home and away from others'.

I think I got panicked when on hold to doctors so that I was more breathless first time I filled in the form. Really reluctant to call 999 now for all the obvious reasons - danger of infection and infecting others, stress of being on hold and waiting for them to arrive, etc. The form is such a blunt instrument.

I don't think I'm as ill as a lot of you on here: I have been up everyday and
don't think I've had a temperature. (today 36.4 as opposed to the usual 35/36 I get with my thermometer which I don't trust at all). So I'll try going to bed for the rest of the day and see if that does the trick. I think the main issue is exhaustion.

Roostersmum2 · 24/03/2020 13:32

@user34254356 definitely try cold compresses, hopefully it helps you. Can I ask what you meant by resetting your day count to day 7? I'm on day 6 today I think

Casino218 · 24/03/2020 13:35

@ddream I think it sounds like it. I'm day 15. Out of breath walking in garden today but a lot better

longshot · 24/03/2020 13:51

@SchrodingersKitty I just wanted to say I feel really very similar to you today. My chest is worse, sore and heavy and although not struggling to breathe when resting it does not feel right.

I am also exhausted, muscle aches on and off, still mostly in bed.

Am awaiting call back from GP also who is now concerned it’s been 14 days. I am relatively young and fit with no underlying conditions so they don’t know why I’m not improving. I am wondering if I haven’t got Covid and something has been missed! Eg chest infection but who knows

@longshot. I wish I could get through to my surgery. Feeling better now I’m in bed. I think rest is the component I’ve been missing. Unlike others on here I haven’t been so bad at nights so a day in bed I’m really hoping will help.

user34254356 · 24/03/2020 14:04

@Roostersmum2 I was counting myself as day 11 based on when i started with a cough but now thinking of counting the first day i started to get fluey symptoms which would make me Day 7! Hoping to get through those ominous days 8 and 9 when patients end up being hospitalised

Countrygirl38 · 24/03/2020 14:07

Hi, I am a keyworker and due into work tomorrow with vulnerable people. I gave had minor chills overnight . Could this be a first symptom of the vius. I haven't got a fever or a cough and so NHS 111 online isn't really helping on this occasion. I don't want to spread anything to anyone but they are really minor chills so not sure if this could be the virus or not

SchrodingersKitty · 24/03/2020 14:08

Finally got through to gp surgery and past the receptionist who says a doctor will ring me sometime today. I’ll report back.

Casino218 · 24/03/2020 14:12

@longshot the GP has clearly not had this virus( thankfully) it's a frequent sort of it taking longer than 2 weeks especially if over 50.
