Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

Exactly the same for me. Bad in the morning and cold, brighter in the afternoon and on the downward slide again in the evening

Needsomegoodnews · 23/03/2020 23:58

Relieved to hear others say they get worse again at night. I’ve had fluctuating fever for over a week (with one day in the middle where I thought I was better!) and still finding temp comes up every evening, with chest pains, worries me that I’m not getting any better.

onlinelinda · 24/03/2020 00:13

Same here @DandyPenguin .

Anybody anxious or panicking- how about the free version of Headspace app. I use it and it really helps .

pinkoneblueone · 24/03/2020 01:37

Woke with a fluttering in my chest, I think i have pleurisy, but it's odd that my husband and I should both have it. I think my inhalers are making my heart rate drop to low as looking at my heart rate on my Fitbit app when I woke suddenly it was below 52 bpm. I have done a few yoga poses to help ease my mind and take my mind off things (attached below for those that need a distraction) but I am not sure if it helped or not but I think the burning in my lungs may be back. When I went to bed I felt awful and felt achey with a headache that has gone as I've taken paracetamol but I am at a total loss as to what to do now as I don't want to call 111 about this as I was going to call my GP in the morning. I have no idea what the point of this post is but it helps to get it out I suppose.

stayathomegardener · 24/03/2020 08:02

What day are you on @pinkoneblueone?
If it's any consolation @Littleninja1 I was a totally driven workaholic and that seems so pointless now too.

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 08:36

@pinkoneblueone Rest up! No need to call anyone unless you feel you are really unwell and not coping at home. Lots of fluids, bed, paracetamol and a hot water bottle xx

pinkoneblueone · 24/03/2020 08:40

I am on day 14 I think. There have been gaps in my heart rate on the Fitbit too in the night my lungs don't feel right and feel fluttery. I have called the doctors and they will call me back later it. I am asthmatic and they game a second inhaler last week I think while it's helping it's taking my heart rate too low.

longshot · 24/03/2020 08:47

Morning all.

@pinkoneblueone sorry to hear about your bad night. I wasn't great either, waking a lot and uncomfortable but breathing was OK.

It's day 14 for me, I felt OK when I woke up but after an hour of 'playing' with the kids (sedately) I'm exhausted again. My chest is sore, maybe marginally less painful and the pain seems to move. It's now at the front, sort of central and yesterday was more in my back. This makes me think that as @Casino218 says it's pleuritic. I am also still a bit breathless but not too bad.

My fingers and hands hurt today also, it's like I am inflamed everywhere? I have had to remove my wedding ring in the night as it felt my fingers were swollen. Can anyone relate?

My DD today told me her arms and hands ache, she's had such a milder version than me but clearly it's a symptom of whatever this is.

Another day of resting. If i sit still and do nothing I don't feel too bad.

Also drinking lots and taking the paracetamol as instructed. I did sit out in the sun for a couple of hours yesterday and that really helped, I am not up to a walk but would encourage everyone to get outside if they have outdoor space as it helped me mentally.

I am also reading a good book, not looking at the news to try and keep my spirits up.

Flowers to all today.

OH had flu last summer that left him with pleurisy. It is worthwhile phoning gp for antibiotics and advice. OH dithered and was told off by gp.

Yesterdayforgotten · 24/03/2020 09:13

'Have all of you here actually got covid19? I didn’t realise they were testing routinely?'

This^ it could be a different virus or infection for some. I do think if anybody picks up a general flu or cold they will say it is corona without knowing for sure. It could be Corona but then again it may not be.

pinkoneblueone · 24/03/2020 09:22

Just called the doctor who agreed this wasn't corona virus however she didn't say much just to carry on as I am. I would say it's likely we all have pleurisy.

Littleninja1 · 24/03/2020 09:23

I don't have pleurisy. It's a bacterial infection and I was already tested for that. Also pleurisy is indicated by sharp pain which I don't have.

KayakingOnDown · 24/03/2020 09:28

Morning all. Day 7 of chest pain. It is worse today and I am shorter of breath. When I breathe in there is a sharp pain.

I am going to call the GP again.

KayakingOnDown · 24/03/2020 09:30

Pleurisy is a type of pneumonia, which is a symptom of Covid 19.

www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/24/coronavirus-what-happens-to-peoples-lungs-if-they-get-covid-19

KayakingOnDown · 24/03/2020 09:31

Pleurisy can be viral.

tempestterra · 24/03/2020 09:33

yesterday we've been through this so many times with people popping up saying but, but, but, it's getting boring. I have had flu...this bastard is not flu. They are not testing people who are at home at the moment so stop quoting shite. They will test NHS staff, and those in hospital who are acutely unwell.
None of us know if it's COVID-19, and in a way it doesn't matter, the fact is we're all struggling with a virus which is nothing like a cold or flu, and ramps up discomfort at night, and has similar symptoms and some unique ones to each individual. I have a family member who is a respiratory consultant, and when I spoke to her she said it was almost certainly COVID-19. There is no other virus, which she is aware of, that has my clinical signs other than COVID-19.

To everyone else. I hope you you all start to feel better soon SmileThanksSmile

lubeybooby · 24/03/2020 09:38

I've woken up this morning with a tiny sense of lung fire. Otherwise fine and temp normal. No idea if this is the start of something or not but thanks for this thread

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/03/2020 09:39

Just reading symptoms.

I just feel a bit tired and if I have mild chills. Occasionally hot wave. No proper temp but I half heartedly cycle chart and my temp is much higher than it should be at this point in the cycle.

Anyone start like that?

Yesterdayforgotten · 24/03/2020 09:39

tempestterra I will quote what I want thank you very much. I dont think it is 'shite' actually. There are people I know who have a simple cold and have been saying it is Corona. For the people who have actually got it and anything severe you have my full sympathy.

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/03/2020 09:39

I want two hot water bottles.

Littleninja1 · 24/03/2020 09:42

Well said @tempestterra the name is unimportant if the treatment is the same. In this case it is - rest, fluids, paracetamol.

Day 13 for me now. Hurts breathing in and out. Pain moves around on my back between left and right. No chills so far today! Staying in bed again. Still very breathless.

I also find my symptoms get worse later in the day though since staying in bed all day for days now that has dissipated somewhat. I feel an hour or so of respite from the chest pain on waking which is my favourite time of day!

My friend brought my some beautiful white and pink roses yesterday and I have them next to my bed cheering me up. (She left them outside, don't worry).

I'm not reading links on C19. Need to stay calm. I'm taking each day as it comes.

I spoke to my lovely GP at length yesterday. I discussed pleurisy and pneumonia. He said he's sure I have C19, just as a&e doc did, but they cause the same symptoms. So I am going to trust what the medical professionals have told me.

Feel better today everyone Flowers

KayakingOnDown · 24/03/2020 09:43

@TitsalinaBumSquash how is your DS?

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 09:47

@tempestterra Not even nhs staff where I am (major city)
It's true we cant know for sure. I just dont know. I've been told by GP that its highly likely to be covid19 + pleurisy. I might never know but I've felt very unwell in a very different and specific way to how I've ever felt before..but which knows really!

Spacecadetagain · 24/03/2020 09:48

No idea if I have this or another virus but now have really sore ribs and sharp pains .. didn’t feel too bad yesterday but feel rotten again today Day 11 here

longshot · 24/03/2020 09:54

@Littleninja1 - We sound very similar today! Day 14 here and it is good to know that we are experiencing very similar things as I am really worried at times that I am not improving. I also keep getting messages from friends and work saying 'how are you' and when I say 'no better, no worse' they say 'glad you are feeling better' - what's that all about??! Basically people want me to be better of course but I am just not at the moment. :-( SOOOOOOO grateful for my DH who is an absolute trooper and working full time from home AND looking after DCs who are 7 &5. I will buy him a medal after this.
