Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough

@Casino218 I really hope so!!

Your pleuritic pain, is it constant at times? Today I have a sort of dull ish almost muscular feeling Ache behind my shoulder blade and in my lower ribs. It was over my sternum and left boob earlier. Is this the same for you? I have rested all day today to try and get over this. I’m so bored now. Still a little short of breath as well but fine if sitting still / resting

I am worried about the temperatures spikes. I had no fever this morning until 4pm and now it's not gone down much with paracetamol. Can't seem to get rid of the fever and starting to feel down.

Is everyone who has fever taking paracetamol as needed or regularly every 6 hours.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 18:15

@longshot @casino glad you are feeling better now!

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 18:15

@longshot yes the pleurisy comes from the inflammation and it will refer ( or shot off) to other areas. You sound the same as me. It's going to take time for lungs to stop being inflamed. Just need to let our bodies heal x

clairethewitch70 · 23/03/2020 18:23

Day 19. Sore throat again and leg fatigue and a raging headache. This sodding virus lulls you into a false sense that it has gone, then woosh back again.

Roostersmum2 · 23/03/2020 18:24

@user34254356 do you feel well enough to take a tepid bath (or shower)

cold compress on forehead and wrists

Both ways of bringing a temperature down

Littleninja1 · 23/03/2020 18:32

@user34254356 my GP said to take paracetamol every four hours. Set an alarm so you can remember. He said not to wait for the pain or take it as hoc. It's more effective in the routine. I hope that helps.

This afternoon I got the burning lungs you've all been talking about. It's also started hurting around my left side, ribs and back when I breathe. My temp is still a steady 37. Chills and general icky fevery feelings are better but chest pain is bad.

I'm on the paracetamol religiously!

SchrodingersKitty · 23/03/2020 18:59

@Casino218. Thanks yes, that’s the page I saw. My inhaler definitely on list but since I’m not actually taking it I don’t know it that changes my risk status. I’ll be staying in anyway, it’s more the worry of being also at highest risk as my DH will be and I’m really worried about what we’ll do if he needs chemo in the midst of this.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 19:04

Thank you @Roostersmum2 @Littleninja1

Not enough energy to take a bath/ shower. I will religiously follow the 4 hourly paracetamol schedule. I hope it's nearly the end of it. Felt quite breathless walking up the stairs just now.

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 19:07

@SchrodingersKitty yes I can see that it must be worrying for you but remember different units in the hospital treat different things and they will prioritise chemo. They will cancel routine stuff etc.

justasking111 · 23/03/2020 19:11

marking place. So sorry for you all Sad

SchrodingersKitty · 23/03/2020 19:14

@Casino218. Thanks. I do know that they will not stop treating him. It’s more the issue of how much more at risk chemo would make him and if he’d then get a ventilator. What he has if anything is still really unclear though so I need to go back to not thinking about it.

stayathomegardener · 23/03/2020 19:17

Day 12 when I try and do anything I get an odd feeling in my chest, not burning anymore just odd. And still exhausted, tried to change a duvet cover, not happening.

Spent the afternoon on a lounger in the sun reading with little dog and gallons of water in hat, coat, blanket, hot water bottle ensemble. Feel ok if I'm doing nothing.

This is really making me reevaluate my life in very strange ways.

Littleninja1 · 23/03/2020 19:21

@stayathomegardener me too. Feel like I took everything so for granted. I used to just laze about the house all time, didn't push myself, got mad at silly things and I didn't phone my parents enough. So many things now seem precious and fleeting. I want to be better so I can live better than I did before.

onlinelinda · 23/03/2020 19:26

@SchrodingersKitty same here. I'm on the list and got my text. It's says on list if taking one puff of my medication and I take 4. Not sure how to manage that.

ims0rrydarlingg · 23/03/2020 19:42

I've definitely got your day one symptoms with the mild diarrhoea and aches and pains, especially in my legs.
My mouth has tasted funny today, kind of a metallic taste I suppose. Chest has felt a little heavy but I wouldn't say it's caused me much pain or discomfort.

SchrodingersKitty · 23/03/2020 19:51

I’m trying to live by the advice of Sydney Smith (18th century writer) on how to overcome low spirits. He advises one should ‘Take short views of human life - not further than dinner or tea’.

Or gin, were it not contraindicated at the moment.

Superbrew · 23/03/2020 19:55

@longshot I had the side pains around day 15, I hope you feel better soon !

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 20:22

lol at “were it not contraindicated at the moment.”

That seems so apt for much of like right now.

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 20:22

Life, not like

VivaLeBeaver · 23/03/2020 22:28

I’m quite a bit worse this evening. Coughing a lot kore, feel quite short of breath at times.

Went on 111 online and website said that me and my family need to stay at home. No need to be tested.

Roostersmum2 · 23/03/2020 22:47

Viva Flowers I know the website says to stay at home and but if you feel like you need medical advice and are worried you should definitely call 111. Hope you and others struggling tonight feel better soon

tempestterra · 23/03/2020 22:53

vivaThanks, and as above poster said, if you're worried contact 111.
I just came on here to ask why is always at night? Urgh I'm so uncomfortable with my lungs tonight! I beginning to think I've got pleurisy. But during the day I'm generally getting on okay, but evening and nights it all kicks off again. It's a very odd virusConfused

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 23:04

Yes it always get worse at night! I think a human’s immune system drops at night so you feel it more.

onlinelinda · 23/03/2020 23:12

Yes it's worse at night here too. Chills again, and I was warmer this afternoon and early evening.

Kate, VERY sound advice. I'll remember it
