Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

The symptoms are odd. I've never had any chest problems in the past. Now it feels strange and I am under the weather.

user34254356 · 23/03/2020 15:59

I am really struggling today. No energy to get out of bed, complete loss of appetite and low grade fever continues. It's day 10 now and I am wondering if I was meant to have breathing problems, would it have happened by now?

notangelinajolie · 23/03/2020 16:05

Day 13 and for the first time I actually feel fine.

122now · 23/03/2020 16:08

Hi all, gp started me on doxycycline antibiotic for 1 week with an anti I inflammatory. It's difficult for you all when the NHS won't test. Our gp's are still treating people at their cars, they are wearing full protective clothing. Surely the gp's will have to do this in the uk for other regular illnesses or else swab people one way or another. It's not all about Covid either! There are other illnesses to think about! Just to answer someone's question, my highest temp was 39.9, others were low grade. I hope it has reassured you all a little but crazy that gp's are not seeing you xx

MrsBennetsnerves · 23/03/2020 16:10

Here are mine so far. This is from self isolation onward. I was getting a sore throat on and off for a week and mild chills a couple of days before.

Day 1 fever, sore throat
Day 2 fever, sore enlarged lymph node on neck, body aches, face ache, severe headache, huge thirst, no appetite at all, exhausted.
Day 3 same as day 2
Day 4 fever tailed off by afternoon. Nausea and vomiting, body aches, no appetite
Day 5 started coughing, irritated lung feeling. Appetite back. Headache gone
Day 6 similar to 5
Day 7 cough diminished, still have irritated lungs. More energy but stayed in bed.
Day 8 - moved out of bedroom. Soon realised I have less energy than I hoped. Laboured breathing after just pottering around. Now I'm having a lie down.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 16:12

@Roostersmum2 No my chest is a mess..but if I felt like I needed hospital I'd ring 111 (or 999 in an emergency) and get advice. When I was more unwell the other day they said they wanted to send an ambulance so I'm assuming thats their preferred way of managing suspected Covid patients.

Superbrew · 23/03/2020 16:20

I perhaps could have roostermum2 but dont push yourself.

My dr asked if I have had pains in my side, just wondering why she would have asked that..I did have pains in my side for 2 days.

Roostersmum2 · 23/03/2020 16:27

Thanks superbrew. At the moment I think I could do it. I felt well enough to go for a walk this morning and said to DH I'm looking forward to Thursday (which will be 8 days from beginning of isolation)

Suffice to say I didn't go out, and won't be doing, until I'm no longer a risk to others.

Its a potential decline im worried about. I feel a bit of a twit sounding hysterical now when most of you clearly have suffered much worse than me until now.

@tangledyarn That's good to know. Thank you. I read that terribly sad thread where a child with meningitis was waiting for hours so I've been quite concerned about response time since reading that. Hopefully if any of us need urgent care they would get to us.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 16:30

@roostersmum2 Yeah I get it, I've had some dark moments this week try not to worry, I know its easier said than done and recovery is likely to be up and down but I'm sure you'll be fine. It just feels scary when its your breathing thats affected I know xx

TitsalinaBumSquash · 23/03/2020 16:38

Thanks everyone - got in contact with the GP about DS(7) and they heard him on the phone and said go straight to a&e.
DH has taken him because I can't face another hospital. No results back on DS(15) swab yet,

Roostersmum2 · 23/03/2020 16:47

Oh Titsalina how worrying for you all. I'm so pleased they're both getting seen quickly though, as they should be. Fingers crossed for negative results and I hope they feel much better soon x

onlinelinda · 23/03/2020 16:56

That's something, @TitsalinaBumSquash . Hope he's ok.

@Findingschoolsformyboys , sorry you're still not well. Hopefully you've turning a corner.

Rooster, I imagine the ambulance times are varying. Try not to look ahead, as we're all different.

As I posted up thread , of 55,000 in Wuhan in February, only 66% have dry cough and not everyone even a temperature (88%).* That's means your symptoms may vary too, in fact likely to.

Didn't mean to bold ' that means, onwards)!

onlinelinda · 23/03/2020 16:58

(Only including link so people know the data is reliable). No need to read.

DandyPenguin · 23/03/2020 17:11

Roostermum

At the risk of sounding harsh, because you admit yourself you're having a panic and others have it a lot worse, as your symptoms are minor...

I think the one thing we can all take from this is that there's a lot of variables we have no control over. Ambulance response times where X is may be good, but that doesn't mean they'll be so where Y is. And it will vary from day to day as the infection rate peaks and troughs, so on Day 1 the response rate may be good, on Day 3 it may be dire. There is no uniform.

Of course have some contingency in place eg who to call for childcare in an emergency and taxi numbers, but otherwise you do need to take it day by day. Worrying about not just what hasn't happened, but which would be a week or so away if it did happen, won't help you and it's likely to raise the anxiety levels of people on here who are suffering and do have burning lungs.

I had a go at posters before when they said that people on this thread who haven't been tested saying they have covid is attention seeking. But there's a happy medium. We do have a responsibility to post, er, responsibility and not to get too anxious.

SchrodingersKitty · 23/03/2020 17:28

@SquashedFlyBiscuit: about steroids for asthma. I just saw on another thread that people taking the steroids I am prescribed for asthma will be on the shielding list. I’m pretty concerned about this as I assumed my DH (under investigation for other serious health issues) would be but not me as my asthma is mild and well controlled except when I have a chest infection. I have not, in fact, been taking my preventer steroid inhaler at all during this virus because of the rumours about inflammatories being a greater risk. What I don’t know - and is not clear from the Asthma Society’s information - is if I am at high risk because I have asthma of a level that means I am prescribed these steroids (which I mostly don’t use) or if I am at high risk if I am actually using the steroids. It sounds like you might be in a similar category. It’s all so confusing and worrying.

StormBaby · 23/03/2020 17:32

Day 10 here today, have had a good day, less coughing, then suddenly about an hour ago my limbs went like lead again. Barely made it up the stairs, couldn't hold my phone.

longshot · 23/03/2020 17:44

@Superbrew when were the pains in your sides? I have that now, had it slightly before sort of at the bottom edge of my rib cage. Feels sore and sensitive. I’m now on day 13 and was a bit better yesterday, today not feeling so good. Chest is heavy and painful at times and I’m tired but not much else!

OP posts:
Casino218 · 23/03/2020 17:48

The pains- that's pleurisy- just carry on with paracetamol x

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 17:51

Think I'm day 14 now. Good morning but now super tired, pleuritic pain. Went for walk in garden and it wiped me. Cough gone now. Headache on and off.

@Casino218 thank you, think we are about the same in terms of recovery! Good to hear your updates. Am keeping on the paracetamol Smile

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 18:00

@longshot yes there's some comfort in this thread when you have similar symptoms at similar points. Take care x

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 18:03

@longshot what happens when we come out of the other side of this? I hope there is an antibody test.

Oliphantitus · 23/03/2020 18:09

I hope there is an antibody test too @Casino218
