Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

Hi all! I'm NEGATIVE for CV thank god!!! So I had all the symptoms, the tight chest and shortness of breath was the worst with burning chest, fever and whole body aches with weakness. Looks like a nasty flu or regular pneumonia. I rang my gp and will see him later to listen to my chest, I may need an antibiotic and a good probiotic before I go back to my nursing job and into the trenches!!🙈 please be reassured by this, I am very relieved!! Xxxx

TheWooisStrong · 23/03/2020 11:28

Day 13(?) finally feeling slightly brighter. Not amazing but more myself. Still have a v slight tickly cough and cold/unusual feeling in throat.
All chills stopped two days ago now.
Hungry as well - I had gastro symptoms but these are also improved.
Children wanted to play in the garden, was definitely too breathless to run around with them much, but that might just be my general health.
Hoping we all continue to improve.

That's great news @122now. Phew you can relax now!

longshot · 23/03/2020 11:30

@122now thank you for updating!! I have a call shortly with a GP through work and am wondering myself if I need treatment for something, mine if feeling like pleurisy. Of course it is impossible to be sure I DON'T have it but it is reassuring to know that you don't. Why the hell they aren't testing I don't know!

@122now that’s so reassuring.
Been feeling like absolute rubbish for the past week and convinced it was CV.
Do you mind me asking how you got tested? Was this arranged through a GP.
Very surprised they’re not testing anymore. How are we supposed to feel confident going out after our isolation period if we don’t know we’ve had it and developed some kind of immunity to it.

All the best

hopsalong · 23/03/2020 11:47

Might I ask what range of temperatures have people had? Mine has been above 37 orally first thing in morning for almost two weeks now (is normally 36.2 ish at start of cycle), and as high as 39 later in day. I am feeling pretty well now other than some chest pain on breathing deeply and upper back pain. Well enough in myself to go up and down stairs, light cooking, playing with kids etc, but temperature is still 38. I haven't sought medical care and don't know if I've had covid-19 or not. Have had three days of bad illness: day 1, then day 8 and 9. Had chest pains, tightness in lungs, difficulty drawing breath (especially when I went out into cold air) at worst part, also acid reflux type symptoms as if something burning below my ribs. Cough only started two days ago. Now on day 11. Has anyone else had a prolonged mostly mild temperature? Even with paracetamol (which have been trying to avoid) it has never gone back to 'normal'.

TheWooisStrong · 23/03/2020 12:03

Urgh, spoke too soon. Came over all tired, mild chills, had to have a lie down. Any effort seems to wipe me out.
Still hungry though which I’m taking as a good sign.

Littleninja1 · 23/03/2020 12:03

@122now really pleased for you!

Could I ask some advice? I phoned my GP this morning and the receptionist refused to give me an appointment because I said the hospital doctor suspected C19. She said I have to call 111. But the reason I wanted to speak to GP was exactly this - it might be something else and I'm not being treated! How can I get treated or assessed, does anyone know? Do I have to go through 111?

treedragon · 23/03/2020 12:10

Can anyone confirm if there are differences in temperatures between measurement methods.

Is a fever limit different for oral and in the ear...?

Blessings to you all today

longshot · 23/03/2020 12:13

@hopsalong - mine have ranged in a similar way to yours, mostly it seems to be 37.8 now. Have taken paracetamol quite frequently has few days and not gone above 38.1.

I am feeling really weak and sort of shaky in upper body and left side. I am quite worried as was feeling better and feel like I am nosediving now but just going to rest until I get to speak to GP later. I am sure they will then tell me to call 111 which is a waste of time as it just hangs up on me.

I think bad advice has been given here. It has been specifically said some people have NO symptoms, and now they are saying if anyone loses sense of smell that alone could mean you have the virus.
To presume you have to have a hacking terrible cough means you MIGHT be spreading it if you dont!

Superbrew · 23/03/2020 12:16

If you only think it's a cough you are looking for.

Superbrew · 23/03/2020 12:23

I spoke to my dr today, she said from my symptoms it sounds like I had it.
To presume you are contagious till the cough goes as they dont know how long its contagious for.
And to be cautious still and take precautions as they arent testing so wouldnt know for definite.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 12:38

@112now Ahh that makes me so stressed..I've been really ill and gp said 'highly likely' to be covid + pleurisy..I was hoping once I'm better that would be it, rather than something that is potentially gonna leave me more vulnerable (already have asthma and other conditions). I want to be able to get back to work!

longshot · 23/03/2020 12:45

@tangledyarn what day are you on please? I’m feeling the same now, if the isn’t Covid I won’t be leaving the house for 3 months because I have felt so bad and still have all these lung / chest pains. Can’t see I would fight Covid off if I haven’t got it already and I caught it now.

On thing though, my DCs both have had what I have in a mild form. Would pleurisy do that? I guess if it were some other virus it could right and there’s just didn’t progress?

Remember the test are only 70% accurate.

stayathomegardener · 23/03/2020 12:46

@122now Woo! Brilliant news.
Thanks so much for updating.
And water...

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 23/03/2020 12:48

@hopsalong my temperature has been around 38 for the last few days (day 12 today). Assume it is because of a secondary infection for which i have antibiotics. I also feel really exhausted.

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 12:55

@longshot day 17 ish and still feel pretty terrible..chest is awful and am still mostly in bed. Yeah i totally understand, I feel the same, frustrating not to know. Hoping they roll out the antibody test asap. Weirdly wasnt at all anxious for my self prior to this illness (been extremely worried about my parents) and I guess whatever once I'm better (whenever that might be!) I'll have to just get on with it being as cautious as I can be.

Casino218 · 23/03/2020 12:59

The test are not 100% accurate. I think it's leading some people to think it's not the virus when in fact it is.

SchrodingersKitty · 23/03/2020 13:01

@hopsalong: I really have no idea about my temperature as my thermometer doesn't seem to be working. If it is I have had low rather than high temperatures most of the time - around 35. I have had 3 or 4 episodes of hot flushes and feeling hot, but mostly I have felt chilled.

HRH2020 · 23/03/2020 13:12

@122 good news on the test thanks for letting us know... I felt better this morning and did 8 minutes of PE with Joe and have been having chest pains and breathlessness since. Wtf is this virus and why is it here at the same time as c19?! I'm not leaving the house now until the antibody test is out 🤯

tangledyarn · 23/03/2020 13:13

@longshot yes totally, think pleurisy usually comes after a urti so its totally plausible you've all had the same thing but yours has just developed. Also if it's not bloody coronavirus I want to take some naproxen Grin..gp said no anti inflammatorys because its contradicted with coronavirus

longshot · 23/03/2020 13:16

@tangledyarn exactly! I want to at least be able to medicate for it if it’s NOT Covid! I know if I speak to the Dr they will most likely say call 111...it had crossed my mind though that I should no longer be contagious (13 days, no fever, hardly any cough) but I’m sure the GP will not see it like that. I do not want to return to the Covid unit for a an x ray if I haven’t got Covid!!
