How many people do you know who've got it?

I know of three friends of friends who've got the virus. If everyone else is the same then it suggests it's spreading quite rapidly!

None.
Not even anyone who thinks they have it or may have had it.
I know of one person self isolating due to her child’s cough. No other symptoms

As of 1pm, 177 patients who tested positive for coronavirus have sadly died

These are confirmed cases.

I work in healthcare in the community and there has been a notable increase in the number of elderly who have died of pneumonia before the virus became the main UK news and before we started wide(r) testing. I can't give timeframe or figures. I was told this by a GP I work with along with that our mortuary is nearly at capacity.

I, without a doubt, believe that many more people have died of this disease than we know.

None, no suspected cases either, I only know 1 person who’s self isolating at the moment, I will be self isolating from Monday due to my pregnancy!

so scary. but then surely if you compare it to flu it is a lot less dangerous than flu i would have thought?

What? Hmm

I went to drop off supplies to my sister today. Very red face dry cough.... she won’t be tested unless in hospital but had every symptom.

DidoLamenting · 21/03/2020 02:36

No one. Loads of people self- isolating but no one who has it.

1 directly and his friend. His friend tested positive, my direct friend hasn't been tested but has the fever and cough for the past 14 days or so. I don't know many people here though, as I'm not working at the moment and don't have many friends. Both of these returned from a skiing trip in Northern Italy on the 8th March. They knew going on the 1st of March what the risks were. But they're both healthy and fit males in their late forties. Pair of tools in my view, but stupid will be stupid (both GPs).

@Rufflecow Of course some people are attributing every mild random symptom to covid19, but having been in bed for a week with awful symptoms including shortness of breath, high temp and pulse, wheezing and chest pain I definitely would have thought there was something v wrong if I hadn't known about covid19 and had it confirmed as a strong likelihood from medical professionals. Its already everywhere in the community, there will be over 100,000 cases now, mostly v mild, some asymptomatic.

PontiacBandit · 21/03/2020 03:07

I suspect a lot more than confirmed as they are reducing testing now. We are being advised to stay home with symptoms and only go to hospital if health is declining.

WTF0ver · 21/03/2020 03:10

2 friends have it. It doesn't sound fun.
