Poor Boris

He looks like he hasn't slept for a week. I never thought the day would come when I'd feel sorry for Boris and think that Trump sounded professional Confused(in his press conference today). Everything is upside down. We're fucked, aren't we?

OP posts:
NettleTea · 18/03/2020 19:21

However as a Labour Supporter (in the past) Id hate to see where we would be with that bunch.

Its all gone a bit beyond party politics now

Roussette · 18/03/2020 19:21

No, I don't feel sorry for him. He wanted the top job without a crisis like this, well... it goes with the territory so tough luck. And I just find his arm waving and way he talks irritating, I want more gravitas. Boris wanted the good bits, the kudos, the brexit... not this. Ha bloody ha.

As for Trump being professional... what a joke. He has called it coronavirus all the time until today when it was spelt out to him how serious this actually is... it then becomes the chi-NA virus. Blame blame blame. Bearing in mind the abuse and physical attacks the chinese are getting over there, it's abhorrent. He's a fool and I hope it sinks his presidency.

littlejalapeno · 18/03/2020 19:22

Are you kidding me? I have no sympathy for that smirking clown. He’s doing everything possible to prioritise market health over the people’s health and is quite happy to let the old and vulnerable die and use it as an excuse to sell the nhs to his chums. I bet Theresa May is laughing herself to sleep every night. (Not that she was any better) give yourself a good shake OP.

PeppermintPasty · 18/03/2020 19:22

He’s a fucking revolting gangster as far as I’m concerned. Racist, entitled, arrogant, sexist, bigoted, charmless arsehole. Feel sorry for him? Er, no.

ShutUpYouGrass · 18/03/2020 19:22

I’m so sick of the whingeing on this site.
What do you actually want of the PM? All along the government response to CV has been coordinated with experts. But it seems that MNetters have decided that the experts are wrong and they know better.
It’s time for everyone to shut their mouths and get behind the government and it’s advice.

thistimelastweek · 18/03/2020 19:23

Poor Boris! Poor fucking Boris!
Did he really think power came with no responsibility? Like some game?
Well the buck stops with him and his government now. Let him explain why we live in a country with a health/care system that can't cope in normal circumstances much less emergency ones.

chomalungma · 18/03/2020 19:23

If Corbyn was doing even more than what Boris was doing, the media would probably be attacking him.

Inniu · 18/03/2020 19:23

But the U.K. has been out of step with the WHO and other countries in their response. The U.K. cut back testing to hospital only when the advice was to increase testing, they are very late closing schools.
The financial package today is good but a lot of the rest of the government response has been very poor. I am really shocked that people think it is good.

LittleYorkshireLass · 18/03/2020 19:24

@Morgan12

God just imagine Corbyn right now. He would probably be making sure the most vulnerable members of our society were a priority. Fucking idiot that he is. Hmm

You mean like Boris and the Tories are doing?! Wink

Must be killing the far-lefties and the Corbynites that Boris and the Tories are making a brilliant job of dealing with this pandemic, and those whole cataclysmic situation. Grin

SubjectMatterExpert · 18/03/2020 19:25

Why do people think Jeremy Corbyn couldn’t do this? He was MADE for this.

Gronky · 18/03/2020 19:25

I think he's doing a very good job, taking charge where needed and deferring to experts where that's a better choice.

Cam77 · 18/03/2020 19:25

Poor people who had this total incompetent sorry excuse for a PM thrust on them. A sly fraud who rode the nation’s Brexit chaos into Downing Street. This confusion is what you get when you vote a known serial liar into the most powerful job in the country. No substance whatsoever.

StormyClouds · 18/03/2020 19:26

I didn't vote for Boris, but can anyone seriously imagine what Corbyn would be like at the moment?

We'd have looting and riots in the streets.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 18/03/2020 19:26

But why are all the other world leaders out of step with my boy?

littlejalapeno · 18/03/2020 19:26

@ShutUpYouGrass

Your username is very ironic, given that It’s time for everyone to shut their mouths and get behind the government and it’s advice. is terrible advice. Listen to the WHO or the CDC but do not pay any attention to the borisocracy who have decided your life is not as important as their profits.

mamansnet · 18/03/2020 19:26

Boris is doing ok in a shit job. He's deferring to the experts and changing policy according to the latest evidence. Sounds fair to me.

Anyway - I can't think of ANY politician that would be doing well/better right now.

People didn't want Churchill at the time but he obviously got the job done in the end. I think we need to give Boris a chance, can't change it anyway so we might as well get behind him.

SubjectMatterExpert · 18/03/2020 19:26

@LittleYorkshireLass only in the last 2.5 hours has Boris given any indication that he isn’t making a TERRIBLE job of this 🤔

Toddlertown · 18/03/2020 19:28

I didn’t vote for boris but do think his handled this well. However YABVU to say trump seemed professional!! I cringed the whole way through, ‘Kung-flu’ Hmm the man is a twat.

1forsorrow · 18/03/2020 19:28

I think Rory Stewart would be a good leader for this sort of thing.

I know comedy is in short supply right now, but come on. Britain has been an absolute shower in its handling of this. Confusion, under testing, godawful communication - vying from the utterly incomprehensible to the insulting, and one humongous Uturn which will be talked over for decades and has probably already costs hundreds of lives.
“Brilliant job” FFS

I’m so sick of the whingeing on this site

I'm not whinging but can also say I don't feel sorry for Boris.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 18/03/2020 19:30

Boris Johnson is more Horatio Bottomley than Winston Churchill. He's a chancer and a crook with worse crooks for friends, see Darius Guppy.

TheFaerieQueene · 18/03/2020 19:31

I’m hoping the OP is joking.

MondeoFan · 18/03/2020 19:33

I think he's really working for his money you know. Must be having constant meetings etc
It must be tough being the prime minister with all this going on
