He looks like he hasn't slept for a week. I never thought the day would come when I'd feel sorry for Boris and think that Trump sounded professional Confused(in his press conference today). Everything is upside down. We're fucked, aren't we?

OP posts:
YgritteSnow · 18/03/2020 18:24

It doesn't matter whether we like him or not or what he's said in the past. He's who we've got and that's it. Someone on my FB calling for him to resign! Then what? At a time like this, he resigns, who takes over? In my whole life I have never known such a terrifying time. Who is poised there to take over? To take the helm? I'd love to know.

dottiedodah · 18/03/2020 18:24

I think he is under a huge amount of pressure ATM .Makes Brexit look like a walk in the park!I thought he spoke well ,and tried his best to reassure everyone .Couldnt see JC doing as well TBH!

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 18:26

Resign Confused Agree god just let him crack on. Not like Labour exists atm
And I shudder at Corbyn and this

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 18:28

Many Americans would disagree
oh, I thought it was too good to be true:(

LaureBerthaud · 18/03/2020 18:30

Honestly, you're setting the bar low if you think Boris is doing a good job.

YgritteSnow · 18/03/2020 18:32

@LaureBerthaud what should he be doing then? And who do you think would do a better job?

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 18:32

I'm not a natural tory by any stretch, but really imagine having the weight of all this on your shouldersShock
I totally get why some dont like him but I still say lets get behind him

TheGreatWave · 18/03/2020 18:36

Well, when he got this gig he just thought he was going to have to do a bit of Brexit willy waving and all would be good.

I'm not sure anyone would handle this better, there isn't actually a guidebook.

BellatrixLeStrangest · 18/03/2020 18:36

I do wish people would shit up about JC. He isn't fucking Jesus. He can't cure people! What would he be doing that is different to what Boris is doing.
I'm not a conservative and I'm a firm remainer but you know what? Boris actually made me feel like it was going to be ok.
And it will be! Just our lives will change considerable for the foreseeable future.
I suffer with generalised anxiety disorder and at the moment I'm going from calm to panic mode with no in between. I'm absolutely exhausted. I wouldn't have Boris's job if they gave me £1million, plus vaccinated me against every disease in the world and made me immortal!

YgritteSnow · 18/03/2020 18:39

Whatever anyone thinks of him we need to get behind him. He is listening, hence the change in approach over the course of the last week. We can keep whining about how shit he is or we can start trying to pull together. I couldn't stand him prior to this awful time but it's quite clear he is giving it his all as are all his advisors. He must be terrified, it's all on him and he's stood up there doing it. There's no one else. He's what we've got. That's it.

NanSlayer · 18/03/2020 18:44

Boris the inept bumblebum

NellyGrace · 18/03/2020 18:45

I bet Boris is so so wishing he'd never become PM.

TheGreatWave · 18/03/2020 18:46

And so what if he refers to his advisors, surely it should be those with the knowledge passing on the information.

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 18:47

Imagine if we had someone like Trump, drawling 'fake nooos' at everything that doesnt personally favour him, thick as a brick and acting like a cross between a toddler and an elderly mafioso

Boris and his government have moved too slowly on this, and the Tories are still the same party that is trying to run the NHS into the ground.

I feel more sorry for those who are going to lose their jobs, family and lives because of the slow and confused response.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 18/03/2020 18:48

I think he's doing well. No one knows what to do. We're all affected by this. We are all inconvenienced. We might all lose loved ones. He is going through this too and the buck stops with him. I'm not surprised he isn't sleeping. And his gf is pregnant. And his dad is swanning about like he's immortal, as another person coined.

mbosnz · 18/03/2020 18:49

I think Neville bloody Chamberlain would have more credibility.

Neither his dear old Dad, nor Eton have given him a vote of confidence.

Utter cockwomble.

AnyFucker · 18/03/2020 18:50

Now is not the time for Boris baiting and party politics

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 18:50

I think he’s rising to the extreme challenge and is ok being there rather than not wanting to be. It is tough though.

I go through stages thinking I’ll go nuts if we have really bad figures compared but then feel ok he’s doing ok

Youngatheart00 · 18/03/2020 18:52

I think he is doing a good job in immensely stressful and challenging circumstances.

FourTeaFallOut · 18/03/2020 18:52

I've never voted Tory in my whole life. I think he is doing ok. I think deferring to the experts is exactly what he should be doing.

Rhubardandcustard · 18/03/2020 18:52

Don't care, he wanted the job.

Morgan12 · 18/03/2020 18:52

God just imagine Corbyn right now. He would probably be making sure the most vulnerable members of our society were a priority. Fucking idiot that he is.

lottie360 · 18/03/2020 18:57

I feel very sorry for Borris.

He signed up for a job (brexit) which he thought hed be good at and ended up dealing with a pandemic instead.

I cannot imagine the stress, he looks awful.

You would have no otherr choice but to wing it. They are in uncharted territory.
