He looks like he hasn't slept for a week. I never thought the day would come when I'd feel sorry for Boris and think that Trump sounded professional Confused(in his press conference today). Everything is upside down. We're fucked, aren't we?

Trump sounded professional? He started by talking about the ‘war on this Chinese virus’!

KonTikki · 18/03/2020 17:56

He lied and cheated to get the job.
Feel sorry for him - you having a larf !

TwelveIslands · 18/03/2020 17:56

No sympathy for Johnson at all.

Be careful what you wish for.

Namechangervaver · 18/03/2020 17:57

There was a moment where a reporter was asking him a question that he'd usually fly off the handle at but he stayed really calm and actually answered the question. It was a momentary thought, and don't worry it did freak me out! Grin

Oh yes, poor Boris.

Won't somebody think of the privileged? Hmm

DoubleAction · 18/03/2020 17:57

I thought he looked tired but I also thought the press conference today was very clear. I'm not fan but I don't know what else people want from him

StillbreathingStillhere · 18/03/2020 17:57

I suggest you do some research on dear old Boris and his views and opinions

Namechangervaver · 18/03/2020 17:58

Cross posted with everyone.

campion · 18/03/2020 17:58

He always looks like that. But if he's actually doing some hard work -well he should be seeing as he's the prime minister.

And, no, we're not fucked.

Flippetydip · 18/03/2020 17:59

I wouldn't have his job for all the money in the world. I think he's holding it all together admirably. Can you honestly, honestly imagine Corbyn in this situation?

And no, I didn't vote for Johnson but I'm glad we got him.

Writersblock2 · 18/03/2020 17:59

I think Boris is actually doing a pretty good job of this. And I don’t care if nobody else disagrees. What an utterly thankless task being PM must be.

Writersblock2 · 18/03/2020 18:00

Agrees* it’s been a long day. Lol

Seventyone72seventy3 · 18/03/2020 18:00

Can you honestly, honestly imagine Corbyn in this situation?
Yes. Why not?

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 18:02

Well I’m not sure he hasn’t been winging it a bit (not totally but really lagging) and hated the Liberty part of his speech but getting there

Soontobe60 · 18/03/2020 18:03

Do people reallybink that Bojo is doing all the hard thinking behind scenes?
Every time he's asked a question he refers it to one of his lackeys who actually know the answer. He's like a rabbit in headlights.
But I think whoever was PM would be the same.

As for Trump, he is just an absolute joke.

Waspnest · 18/03/2020 18:03

Actually I think he is doing okay considering the circumstances. He was pretty clear at the end of today's press conference that people need to stop pissing around and act responsibly (hope his dad was listening).

TheCanterburyWhales · 18/03/2020 18:03

He tried to joke with the journalists.
He needs to learn the Lady Macbeth speech because there is going to be so much blood on his hands by the end of what he's (not) done he could scrub with bleach till the end of days and it would still be pouring.

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 18:09

I wouldnt want to be in his shoes, I think he's doing his best, and yes Trump is a joke, but even he has started to act like an adult now

Thefaceofboe · 18/03/2020 18:09

I would not want to be in his shoes right now. No matter what he does, it will be wrong.

Patchworkpatty · 18/03/2020 18:14

I can put my hand on my heart and say I have never voted conservative in all my 40+ years of voting. I am vehemently pro European and thus about as anti Brexit as you can find. However even I am prepared to say I think he is doing ok in a pretty thankless and difficult task.

Trump however has always been an imbecile and remains one .

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 18:15

he really is being squeezed very hard between the rock and the hard place

Winterlife · 18/03/2020 18:17

@KonTikki He lied and cheated to get the job.

As a foreigner who doesn't follow UK politics, can you please explain this to me?

@UYScuti Many Americans would disagree. For one thing, he isn't relying on experts in responding to the pandemic, but to his trusted circle.

JudyCoolibar · 18/03/2020 18:23

He's only doing what Cummings tells him to, how hard can it be?
