No uneccesary travel and gatherings

nellodee · 16/03/2020 16:53

Without drastic action, cases could double every 5-6 days..

erm...

This is the best science? What does he think they've been doing?

Greentea93 · 16/03/2020 16:53

@Farine I didn’t read that but no need to be so rude 🙄🙄🙄🙄

waspfig · 16/03/2020 16:53

People over 70, pregnant women and those with health conditions particularly important for them to avoid social contact.

SistemaAddict · 16/03/2020 16:54

Fuck. Now he admits it's serious. Now I'm scared.

ElizabethG81 · 16/03/2020 16:54

Erm, cases are already doubling every 3 days...

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 16:54

No it’s good Bercow

Worse if he wasn’t doing this

waspfig · 16/03/2020 16:54

I'm a few days time, by the weeken. it will be necessary to go further. Those with conditions should be shielded from contact for 12 weeks.

Madhairday · 16/03/2020 16:55

People with certain health conditions to isolate for 12 weeks from this weekend

Originalyellowbelly · 16/03/2020 16:55

Doesn't he realise that by telling people not to do something doesn't mean they wont do it.

waspfig · 16/03/2020 16:55

The peak of the epidemic is coming faster in London than elsewhere. London is few weeks ahead. They should take measures seriously now.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 16:56

Alex Wickham - 'Boris Johnson

— anyone with symptoms should now stay at home for 14 days, rather than 7
— everyone must stop all unnecessary travel
— stop all unnecessary contact
— avoid pubs, restaurants etc
— work from home where possible.'

Helenj1977 · 16/03/2020 16:56

Well done Boris 🎊

waspfig · 16/03/2020 16:56

It's right we should extend the advice to mass gatherings too. We need critical workers to be available. We are no longer supporting mass gatherings with emergency workers in the way we normally do.

Madhairday · 16/03/2020 16:56

Mass gatherings 'no longer supported with regency workers' from tomorrow

PleaseStopCrying · 16/03/2020 16:56

From tomorrow mass gatherings wont be supported with emergency workers.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 16/03/2020 16:56

Just fucking ban them. Weak.

DigitalGhost · 16/03/2020 16:57

Are pregnant women allowed to go to work? It's so unclear

Madhairday · 16/03/2020 16:57

No updated death stats yet?

waspfig · 16/03/2020 16:57

No figure given for mass gatherings

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 16/03/2020 16:57

Like, an open plan school of 1250 pupils isn't a mass gathering 🙄

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 16:57

Good Boris keep going

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 16:57

How about schools?

danni0509 · 16/03/2020 16:57

Exactly @MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately

Givemeabreakpls · 16/03/2020 16:58

No mention of school?
