Guess how many days before I'll get my grocery delivery?

Eight days. Ordered today, first available delivery slot (Asda) is next Sunday the 22nd.
So out of bouldness, I ordered 18 rolls of toilet paper. That'll learn them.

About 2 weeks ago, you'd get the 'day after tomorrow' delivery.

While Boris isn't putting us in lockdown, clearly people are prepping for the event?

You probably won’t get your loo rolls. We didn’t in our delivery yesterday, no substitute, nada.

It didn't show as being out of stock. Hmm, usually order from Morrisons. Then again, these are unusual times.

I don't even need toilet paper lol. I just figured that since most of it was out of stock now it might get worse, so I had better get some in while I can....?

Just checked Morrisons and 22nd is first available delivery slot with them too!
Going to have to use shank's mare me thinks.

The lead time wasn't this bad for Christmas!

I ordered my shop for Monday about a week and a half ago from Morrison's. I'm guessing there will be loads of items missing. I was in ASDA yesterday and couldn't believe there was no pasta, toilet rolls or soap.

I ordered two packs of loo rolls for delivery last Wednesday. None arrived even though they were in stock when I ordered them.

It’s almost certain you won’t get any of those loo rolls in the delivery so I’d buy some in a supermarket if you actually need them. If you can even find some in a supermarket

I usually do mine Sunday for Tuesday delivery.

Did it this morning as time. First available slot was Wednesday.

I'd herd rumours it was getting booked up. I suspect thought it's people panic buying in bulk ready for lockdown and will be a now situation rather than ongoing?

And last week when I ordered a 4 pack of loo roll as usual in Asda they didn't deliver.

The delivery driver couldn't understand why because he said they had loads in store and he had delivered some that day already 🤷‍♀️

My local Sainsbury's has slots for most of next week....

For anyone struggling, try Amazon Prime Now (if it's in your area)… no guarantees they'll have what you want but the stock levels are 'live' so at least takes the guessing game of "will it or won't it arrive?" out of it. If it's not in stock you can't order it but if you do order it you're pretty much guaranteed to get it.

Your shopping is picked from the shelves in store in the day of your delivery. They won't know now what is going to be on the shelves next Sunday.

I’ve booked my future shops with Morrison’s for the next 4 weeks (I just add a couple of expensive items like champagne to the shops to secure the slots and then go back and edit them with what I actually need a couple of days before)

Bulk buying is what causes the shortages in the first place.

I booked mine yesterday , earliest slot was for weds.

Last week I had to keep changing the brand of loo roll as it kept running out. Did manage to get some through. Quite a few other substitutes arrived, different make of pasta, soap and hand wash
