Guess how many days before I'll get my grocery delivery?

Eight days. Ordered today, first available delivery slot (Asda) is next Sunday the 22nd.
So out of bouldness, I ordered 18 rolls of toilet paper. That'll learn them.

About 2 weeks ago, you'd get the 'day after tomorrow' delivery.

I wonder whether your postcode depends on whether you'll get a slot? I couldn't get a slot until 22nd from Morrisons about 20 minutes ago?

I'm in London. Usually max would be 2 days ahead with Morrisons. This is all new to me. How the hell do I know what I want in 8 days time. I'm really not that predictable!

Of course it does. Availability isn't the same in every store, because slots get booked.

Drivemybluecar · 14/03/2020 12:13

Add some tissues to ur order just incase and use those if you run out. That’s what I have done

JeepersC · 14/03/2020 12:13

Btw the poster who pre-books - very clever.
Unethical lol, but clever.
I like your style.

I suppose I presumed it all came from a regional centre or something. Well my area of London has clearly gone into prepping mode it appears. Fuckers.

Wouldn't mind but every second vehicle is a blooming Range Rover, so I don't know why they can't collect their own stuff. I don't have a car. :( I suppose I could get a taxi home with shopping.

I’ve pre booked my Tesco deliveries for the next three weeks. Just put some milk in the basket. Will sort out what I actually need just before each delivery

Murinae · 14/03/2020 12:22

Was no pasta in my delivery this week and no substitute though I did get some toilet rolls ( not the brand I’d ordered though)

JeepersC · 14/03/2020 12:22

How do you manage to book multiple slots?

No Sainsbury's deliveries available here for the next 3 weeks.

MadeleineMaxwell · 14/03/2020 12:22

My Sainsbo's has zero delivery slots available for the next 3 weeks!

PotsofChoc · 14/03/2020 12:22

Went to B and Q today to look at gravel. They had a massive display of Andrex, £11 for 24 rolls. I don’t remember them selling bog roll previously.

Scruffyoak · 14/03/2020 12:23

3 day wait on ours x

Drogonssmile · 14/03/2020 12:23

My Morrison's delivery booked on Tuesday is arriving today with a 18 pack of Andrex. Only bought because we need it and it was on offer! Not substituted/missed off either according to my receipt. The only thing missing was toilet duck 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sainsbury has no available slots showing until 3rd April here. Switched to tesco where there is plentiful slots

Fi57 · 14/03/2020 12:31

I honestly wonder at some people’s mentality! The world is in a major crisis yet everybody’s bleating on about their bloody grocery delivery. Do you all honestly expect things to run as normal😳

KatherineJaneway · 14/03/2020 12:33

I pre book a lot of the time because I don't have a car and rely on my weekly grocery deliveries and fit them in around my life. I often have it delivered on a Friday morning but have often gone for a Saturday or Sunday and they can be very tricky to get morning slots for.

Well before the virus came on the scene, I have two or three shops already booked in.

copperoliver · 14/03/2020 12:36

I had to wait a week too x

Pebbles574 · 14/03/2020 12:39

Just checked Sainsbury's online (we have delivery saver) and nothing for 3 weeks after my delivery on Tuesday! FFS!

We have a massive Tesco not too far from us however and I've noticed that they have click and collect slots from next week.

I'm thinking that I may start doing that, as long as we're not self-isolating - the risk of driving up to the back of the store and collecting the grocery bags can't be too great - and this would leave the delivery slots for other people who really need them.

Can I suggest that others do the same, if possible?

JeepersC · 14/03/2020 12:39

that’ll learn them .... poor English and stupid ...

It's called humour. Google it.

I have already booked the next three weeks with tesco. But I typically do it a couple of weeks in advance anyway as I always get it delivered on the same day at the same time and add to it frequently as it gets closer to the date.
