Interesting that Kensington and Chelsea have the most infected by region.

The cynic in many suspects the rich are doing a better job demanding testing.

alloutoffucks · 12/03/2020 16:54

@Alwaysreadyforbed You mean like the 10 years of austerity we have already had?
The truth is austerity is a political choice.
Boris and his chums want to protect their money.

SansaSnark · 12/03/2020 16:54

Sorry, the above should say in Italian ICUs!

Beebityboo · 12/03/2020 16:54

Both DD and I have health issues but I have two other school aged DC's in good health. They are in an outstanding school they all love so can't risk their places. The school has been supportive but ultimately their absences will be unauthorised. DDs absence is already a problem as she's been ill off and on for six months.
It's just so hard to know what to do for the best.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 12/03/2020 16:54

@kateandme you prioritise those with the best chance of survival. That means younger fitter people.
Those with no underlying health problems will be prioritised.

The underlying health problems cited as giving an increased risk for CV are ; heart problems, high blood pressure, chronic respiratory issues (eg COPD and asthma), diabetes and people who have had cancer.

If you have a queue of 20 people and 10 ventilators you have to make brutal decisions.

waspfig · 12/03/2020 16:54

BBC news says no conference but details being given verbally Confused

nellodee · 12/03/2020 16:54

I am feeling incredibly angry with our government right now. It is a feeling I have never had to this extent before, a visceral reaction against people that I feel are purposefully risking the lives of my family.

HeronLanyon · 12/03/2020 16:55

BUT WE’ve BEEN SELF ISOLATING AND AVOIDING CRUISES AND AVOIDING SOCIAL CONTACT - so if that briefing is right the. Absolutely nothing has changed and we don’t need to wait for the moronivirus to come out and bluster ?

FacingtheAbess · 12/03/2020 16:55

Cohle

That would be the crux of it! The dilemma !

How would it erupt?

Covid is nasty, populations are grateful that their gov is doing something... They're don't necessarily blame the gov.

We will very very much blame the gov for sloppy lax crap.

People don't self isolate!!. They simply don't.

Not many will take this seriously and people who Need to pay bills will get away with it for as long as possible

Youngatheart00 · 12/03/2020 16:55

Nothing changing - absolute garbage. So angry!

MarshaBradyo · 12/03/2020 16:55

Deft more travel?

mintyneb · 12/03/2020 16:55

Watching BBC now - Old people and those with underlying conditions will be advised not to go on cruises....

Cherrypi · 12/03/2020 16:55

Nothing really changing then except cancelling school trips abroad.

waspfig · 12/03/2020 16:56

Scrap that. On now.

CharlieTangoBanana · 12/03/2020 16:56

@Irma
I agree you would be fuming, quite rightly so for me I am paralysed with fear I have a serious respiratory condition and I would be one of those people bypassed for treatment I but I have a good quality of life, a family, grandchildren and a good life expectancy if I stay well. I've accepted that I'm fucked.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 12/03/2020 16:56

I noted that the selection criteria for ICU included

These guidelines apply even to patients who require intensive care for reasons other than the coronavirus, because they too make demands on the same scarce medical resources. As the document clarifies, “These criteria apply to all patients in intensive care, not just those infected with CoVid-19.”

According to above article re: Italy.

1happyhippie · 12/03/2020 16:56

What a load of rubbish!

ScatteredMama82 · 12/03/2020 16:56

Nonsense, complete non-announcement.

Flu-like symptoms, isolate 7 days
Older people advised not to go on cruises

Further actions when we reach the peak....expected end of May?!

HeronLanyon · 12/03/2020 16:57

Oh god he really is a tosser out of his depth.

waspfig · 12/03/2020 16:57

BoJo

True number of cases is higher than we have confirmed with tests.

This is the worst pic kid health crisis in a generation.
Not comparable to flu. Much more deadly.

Many families will lose loved ones before their time

GalOopNorth · 12/03/2020 16:57

Fucking ridiculous

Justyou · 12/03/2020 16:57

Why have we been not to call if we have symptoms- how can they know who has it

BarbedBloom · 12/03/2020 16:57

I just shouted at the tv at the cruise comment. Ffs Angry

SistemaAddict · 12/03/2020 16:57

Fuck. Has he just actually said people are going to die before their time?

confusedandtired99 · 12/03/2020 16:58

Did he actually say he thinks there are more cases than reported!! My god I’m gobsmacked!
