I hope that RapidRainbow does not mind me starting Part II of the thread - if you do let me know & I'll ask for it to be deleted.

It would just be a shame to not carry on as this is such a positive place.

Part I is here:

Another thing I've been doing more of is baking I made those Cadbury cornflake nest things with mini eggs on top kids love them! But you never see the shredded wheat ones anywhere no more do you? I'm going to try make them but they were amazing Grin

Superbrew · 14/03/2020 14:25

I am also recovering from a bad cough..it started as a weird bad pain in my chest, then it turned into literally just a cough..sometimes dry sometimes deep. I had aches and pains bit of fever but that's it. No sneezing no runny nose. It's really hard to know what to think especially I have literally been no where but home.

Spudlet · 14/03/2020 14:32

@Orangeblossom78 Yes! We had sore throats for ages although we’re fine now.

@Eebahgumlass Oh. My. God. Gorgeous!

HonestlyItsFine · 14/03/2020 14:35

It would be really useful if people could KNOW they have had the virus, wouldn't it? It would take a lot of worry away from people, especially medical staff.

Superbrew · 14/03/2020 14:36

Yes would definitely be useful to know!

gingerbreadslice · 14/03/2020 14:37

My granddad drives for kids and one of the dads has had the virus he had a cold and tested positive he's absolutely fine and recovered I only found out yesterday so that's reassuring

Happy Birthday, GothamGirl.

Had a lovely walk this morning & in a sheltered spot a horse chestnut was just coming into leaf. I think it is really positive that this wretched virus has at least started in the Spring - imagine if it was November.

Yes it would take the worry away if you knew

I have also been looking for things that give me comfort like wearing a certain hoodie I have. I'm looking for comfort

HonestlyItsFine · 14/03/2020 14:50

I think it's positive that countries with hotter climates have fewer reported cases. It gives me hope that warmer weather will kill it dead. Praying for a really hot spring!

tobee · 14/03/2020 15:00

@Eebahgumlass is there a name yet?

dappledsunshine · 14/03/2020 15:23

Happy birthday @Gothamgirl1970 I have an important cake question- what's the filling?!!

dappledsunshine · 14/03/2020 15:24

@Eehbagumlass OMG your puppy is gorgeous- I want to squish him/her 😊

Alsohuman · 14/03/2020 15:42

Just been out to forage and pick up a parcel. I actually got a packet of penne and the lady behind me at the checkout had loo rolls, we joked about being mugged as we left the store. There was a lot of good humour about, which was a lovely change. It really cheered me up that this seems to be making people nicer so far.

CaveMum · 14/03/2020 15:49

Happy birthday @Gothamgirl1970!

If you are looking for things to watch on Netflix I’d highly recommend Cheer if you haven’t seen it already. It’s a document-series following a cheerleading team in Texas. The premise sounds a bit “meh” but honestly it’s soooo addictive!

Eebahgumlass · 14/03/2020 15:51

@tobee not yet but I think the children will name him this afternoon!

PineappleDanish · 14/03/2020 16:02

I can also give Netflix recommendations - loved The Money Heist which is in Spanish but with English subtitles. And the Crown of course. Also lots of older box sets.

If you want to watch people making a mess in the kitchen, Nailed It is funny.

Lovely short video of Chinese nurses removing their face masks. Caption reads:

"Chinese medical workers who have been fighting the #coronavirus day and night in Wuhan celebrated the closing of the last temporary hospital in Wuhan.

The reported #covid19 cases went from a surge in February of 15,000 in one day to only 15 this week."

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 14/03/2020 16:19

I was feeling much calmer after a good night's sleep then I made the mistake of reading some of the other threads on here which has really ramped up the anxiety. Please keep the positive news coming.

Orangeblossom78 · 14/03/2020 16:22

YY to it not being the winter Magi. Listening to the birds singing here, DH taken the DC out. Yes the co-odamol seems to he helping things.

Would be really good to know. I guess as time goes on, if don;t get new symptoms, maybe we can tell if had it then. Not sure. It would be nice to be free of the worry of 'when / am I going to get it' etc. but then apparently it can still be detected in some people 4 weeks later.

And they seem unsure about immunity yet, fingers crossed would be immune or further episodes better, perhaps.

tobee · 14/03/2020 16:23

Keep us updated on the name Eebahgumlass!

unique1986 · 14/03/2020 16:24

Any advice for travelling on trains when you dont have any hand sanitizer?

Orangeblossom78 · 14/03/2020 16:24

I find all the other threads seem to revert back to the same 'world is going to end / no-one is doing enough to save us' type thing.

Difficult to discuss anything without all triggering all these type responses.

I posted about e.g. it affecting the eye, in case it helps anyone with contact lenses etc, but no-one replied, think they just all want to rant on etc.

HonestlyItsFine · 14/03/2020 16:28

Any advice for travelling on trains when you dont have any hand sanitizer?

I've been using buses as normal. Washing hands as soon as I get off (thankfully my local bus station has toilets!) and making a huge effort not to touch my face. Also trying not to touch any hand rails etc more than I need to.

MortyFide · 14/03/2020 16:41

I glanced at a thread earlier where someone said "1 in 6 people who catch it will die" and I just wanted to scream NOOOOOO, NOO THEY WON'T YOU FOOL!

Honestly, the badly informed aren't just badly informed, they have no reading comprehension skills either.

Anyway, never mind that, here is my new puppy...
