I hope that RapidRainbow does not mind me starting Part II of the thread - if you do let me know & I'll ask for it to be deleted.

It would just be a shame to not carry on as this is such a positive place.

Part I is here:

Ah I think 1 in whales though. Also aware it could jump up tomorrow but it's a little glimmer of hope.

tobee · 16/03/2020 15:32

I think it might be too early to tell about today's numbers Love2cycle

Mother's Day parade at DD's school cancelled 😭 I've come to the conclusion it's all about each one of us making small sacrifices and temporarily going without things we would normally want or do, for the greater good. If we can all take a little bit of responsibility- and stop bloody stockpiling- we'll get through this.

LokisLover · 16/03/2020 16:16

I don’t have Facebook or Twitter it have filled my Instagram account with positive accounts and funny stuff. This is my favourite account ever!!

Also I have two dc with asthma and we are going to try and do some yoga each day. We’ve only attempted it once and are so useless at it. We end up rolling around laughing, one of them then farts which sends us off again. Best medicine right now.

tobee · 16/03/2020 16:30

The farting potential is one of the main reasons I've never done yoga! Grin

LokisLover · 16/03/2020 16:32

See that’s another positive, in your own home doing yoga no one cares about the farting issue. I think my kids may even encourage it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Spudlet · 16/03/2020 16:35

For anyone with small children wanting to try some yoga, I recommend cosmic kids yoga on YouTube. DS loves it!

For any adults, I will always recommend Yoga with Adriene. I will be unrolling my mat again tomorrow - and DS will get his (my old one). He’s very keen on joining in ❤️

I had a small triumph today. I’m doing a fundraising week of running for the National Autistic Society, and wanted to print my details onto the free T-shirt they sent to all of us. It’s taken a lot of swearing to layout what I wanted, a printer purchase (to be fair we’ve needed one for ages), and one lot of wasted transfer paper because the printer reversed the image and I’d done that bit already - but a it of swearing and a couple of lightly scorched fingers later I’ve finally managed it!

I’m still hoping that I’ll be ok to go out and run the footpaths, but if I have to I’ll do laps of my back garden all week. I’m doing 1k on day one, 2k on day 2 and so on, up to 7k on day seven - all during World Autism Awareness Week. I will not be beaten!

Yes, screaming foxes. Really alarmed me the first time I heard it but we're used to it now. Two years ago the local foxes had cubs and it was amazing. The vixen laid down in the middle of the road under a street lamp and let the cubs feed. We watched them grow up all summer. Pic attached.

Thanks @Furries! We have had a much better day today - not a single pee or poo inside, all performed outside owing to my stupendous psychic powers (and watching Kikopups videos). Have also managed to tone down the biting a little, taught him a solid sit, and a version of "leave it" (I have accidentally reinforced him looking behind him rather than actually leaving something, but I'll take that).

He's got a vet check tonight, which is just as well, because I've noticed he has a spotty rash on his tummy and is itchy: he had some discharge from his nose and eyes; and he's got terrible smelly wind, which is unusual in one so young. He also chases his tail a lot and I've noticed there is a weird lump on it. Shock

Anyway, puppy pic for everyone. I've had no news on at all today, no TV, no radio, haven't opened any SM or news app. Just been on puppy duty. Although DH has come home saying he's got a sore throat and a headache...

Can I ask, is there a way for me to block the coronavirus topic/forum but keep seeing this thread?

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 16/03/2020 17:02

@MortyFide, glad you've had a better day - I hope the vet doesn't think it's anything significant. He's so cute!
@PineappleDanish, I love the foxy photo! I watched a pair mating several years ago - once it was over the dog was playing the fool and wriggling around on his back, while the vixen sat very neatly with her tail wrapped around her paws staring into the distance as if she was thinking, "Here we go again..."

Orangeblossom78 · 16/03/2020 17:05

If you search MN for blocking a topic there are posts on it. I have struggled to get it it work though.

Lovely sunny day here today. Been to aqua aerobics which was quite well attended. Picked up some tops in the sale in Gap also and shopping.

Then home. Trying to avoid BBC news etc as it's streaming of stuff is very stressful. I'm hoping we have actually had the thing a few weeks ago. Fingers crossed.

Focusing on being healthy, doing the general washing etc but not getting too stressed by it all, not easy is it.

Kind thoughts to all Flowers

PrivateSpidey · 16/03/2020 17:59

MortyFide he's a beauty, is he a border terrier? We spoke to the breed club at Discover Dogs a couple of years ago as we were looking into getting a Border (although we ended up with a different breed in the end), they had about five or six pups there, it was great! Hope his vet check goes well and he gets sorted out.

Spudlet good on you, love the tee!

Thanks everyone for the continued positive posts.

I'm intrigued by Boris saying avoid work, pubs and clubs because my work have just sent an email and text saying our deep clean over the weekend has now been completed and they expect everyone to turn up as usual tomorrow. So that's the train to London and a day in the office!

Oh well, I worked from home today and went to the Post Office lunchtime in the sunshine to pick up my Zara parcel, so I am keeping the economy going.....!

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 18:02

Gorgeous day here. Walked little Gladys in the sunshine and we saw a heron which rose majestically as she approached and flew off with great dignity. We went to see Misbehaviour this afternoon. I suspect that may be the last of the cinema for a while.

Frokni · 16/03/2020 18:06

This is the thread in CV section I will now follow. Nice one! :-)

AutumnRose1 · 16/03/2020 18:10

Pineapple, thanks for the pics, lovely!

gingerbreadslice · 16/03/2020 18:13

Sounds silly but if I pulled my daughter out of school tomorrow until this is over and just didn't leave the house anymore would we just not catch it then? I can get shopping delivered and just stay home I don't work anyway atm only my partner does and he just does two days a week? X

kingkuta · 16/03/2020 18:13

My mums friend has had confirmed Covid19 after a trip to Italy. He is 69. He told her he wouldn't have known that he had it. He just had a bit of a cough and felt perfectly well. Is completely back to normal now. Found this very reassuring.

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 18:15

kingkuta that is reassuring. My mum is 65 soon and in great health- but I can't help but worry about her, more than I do for myself!

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 18:17

More positive news, this time from Poland: polandin.com/47135135/polish-scientist-makes-possible-breakthrough-for-coronavirus-treatment
(I don't really understand the science, but hopefully anyway!)
