I hope that RapidRainbow does not mind me starting Part II of the thread - if you do let me know & I'll ask for it to be deleted.

It would just be a shame to not carry on as this is such a positive place.

Part I is here:

Mine is that DSs glasses are still a good fit and his eyes are looking pretty straight with them on, and that DH got the new printer working while we were at the hospital, so I font have to wrestle with it later. Printer wrangling is my least favourite job in the whole world!

Roussette · 12/03/2020 11:28

Love the pussy willow! Haven't seen any round us.

I've walked 2 miles this morning, and I walked in a bit of snow swirling round and some hail!

Orangeblossom78 · 12/03/2020 11:29

The NNC news feed seems quite positive today, there is stuff about a doctor's symptoms in Madrid if anyone's interested, says flu was much worse to be honest.

BBC News I meant

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 11:29

Canshop love your cat!

juicingqueen74 · 12/03/2020 11:30

well done on the second thread. how is everyone doing today? X

Alsohuman · 12/03/2020 11:33

I bought it from Morrisons, Rousette. They may not have loo roll or pasta but the florist section is well stocked!

Sugarmirror · 12/03/2020 11:34

Worldometer - serious / critical gone down to 10%. Good news

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 11:35

I’m well. Got Netflix so I’m going to start watching Suits again. It was on one of the Freeview channels but I guess it vanished when it became a hit?

Also need to find my Elementary DVD, first season. I loved having a woman Watson, but even then the character and the friendship turned out so incredibly beautifully. Wonderful writing.

Canshopwillshop · 12/03/2020 11:59

Thanks Autumn

Mummyoftwo91 · 12/03/2020 12:03

So glad I found this thread! I work in the nhs, someone I know has just been confirmed, haven't been around them though but non immediate family members have, just had a moment of panic and this thread has calmed me down 😂

Thymelord · 12/03/2020 12:20

AlsoHuman that is a lovely arrangement of daffys and pussy willow!

It is a lovely day here. Blue sky, windy and cold in the breeze but a definite hint of spring in the air. Even better, today is my last day at work before we head off on our jollies tomorrow!

I am trying to ignore the people at work who want to do nothing but talk about 'current events'. I have put the radio on and will ignore them.

Orangeblossom78 · 12/03/2020 12:36

Radio 6 music is good today

Canshopwillshop · 12/03/2020 12:52

Just got home after a beautiful, blustery walk along the beach with the doggo. Met lots of smiling, happy people and dogs.

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 12:54

I wish I liked blustery walks, I’ve ruled out a lunchtime walk because I hate being battered about.

That makes me sound like a fish.

Will do some yoga instead. Friend of mine was blithely standing on her head for ages. I can’t do that!

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 12:54

Love the pic though canshop

Canshopwillshop · 12/03/2020 13:43

Ooh, I like a bit of yoga too but standing on my head for too long gives me a headache!

Canshopwillshop · 12/03/2020 13:50

We are meant to be going to the Maldives at Easter so obviously keeping a close eye on developments here and there. Today I’ve discovered that they’ve just built the world’s first Coronavirus quarantine resort on an island called Villivaru. They state that ‘Dr’s will care for patients free of charge and in the lap of luxury. Each of the 30 air-conditioned rooms include 3 room service meals, a flat screen tv and a fully stocked mini bar’! Who’s joining me? 😂

ritatherockfairy · 12/03/2020 13:51

My wonderful yoga teacher posts tutorials online. I did 30 minutes this morning and felt so much better as a result.

Callybrid · 12/03/2020 14:28

I should do some yoga; that sounds really good.

My good news for today is that my 7yo is finally a normal temperature after 6 days of high temps. It’s actually been quite nice being stuck in the house with him - got lots of little bits done and really slowed down from normal pace.

larry55 · 12/03/2020 14:38

Love this thread. Just got back from Tesco and have come to the conclusion that most people in my area are going to live on tuna/other tinned fish and pasta as the shelves were empty. I suppose they will get enough to eat but it will be a bit boring.

At least the food bank should benefit when this all blows over.

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 14:40

Can’t stand on my head at all, can’t get near it.

She can also do crow pose, which I can’t. Hopefully I’ll get there?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/03/2020 15:07

I am unsure I really "get" the manic collection of pasta: why? I mean, what has it got going for it as a bulking-out food which keeps well that rice hasn't, but I don't hear of or see empty rice shelves....

I went and got my hair cut today, and the We're All Doomed conversation there was deeply irritating -- so much of it was complete garbage. For example, apparently we have had covid-19 in this country since November. Huh? I did try to suggest that in that case it really couldn't be all that serious, since nobody seemed to have died of it whilst that was going on, but my comment was completely ignored in the pleasure of discussion of worst-possible-case scenerios. Sad.

And then I went to get my two-monthly meds from the pharmacy, and I was in the queue behind a manwho was trying to buy facemasks for himself and his wife from the pharmacy. (One each, which really wouldn't be all that useful anyway.) They said they had none -- because they don't sell them, but he seems to have missed that bit and was wittering about shortages and not being able to get them anywhere. After he had grumbled off, the nice woman behind the counter sighed and said "Facemasks are no use anyway, except to keep any germs he has from infecting other people" in a weary way; I got the feeling she is getting very pissed off with Joe-panicky-Public.

So I shall go on being in a high-risk category by age and physical condition, and try to avoid other people -- not because I think I will die if I don't, but because I may start to rant about how stupid they are being!

Millie2013 · 12/03/2020 15:27

An excellent reason for avoiding people, Asking Grin

I’ve just run a support group for vulnerable people, in the sense of immunity. They were all very much business as usual. They’ve all survived a particularly nasty type of cancer, it’ll take more than CV to bring them down ❤️

DobbyTheHouseElk · 12/03/2020 15:37

I love the pussy willow. It’s my favourite. Hardly ever see it now.
