To think it was extreme?

Took my daughter to A And E as I was concerned about her as she's not been well for 4 days. I have been really worried about her. ( not corona virus related at all )
Anyway she gets seen by the nurse in triage and he's said that I've put her at high risk of corona virus getting her seen and made out she will now get the virus because I've taken her to hospital. I've never taken her to hospital when I'll but on this occasion I have been really worried.
Now I feel like a terrible parent and feel like I can't win 😢 will she now get the virus because she's entered the hospital

Where’s the other thread?

Nammech111 · 10/03/2020 10:26

@worriedmumishere that is a really high temperature. My thermometer at home was telling me my DD temp was 36.. I was like ok normal but she felt boiling. When I got there it was 38. So mine was wrong but you have had second opinions on the temp.

Since having antibiotic yesterday and calpol and ibuprofen yesterday her temperature has already stabilised.. that's from feeling her forehead and back.. and just keeping her in a vest

CaMePlaitPas · 10/03/2020 10:27

Ear infection?

Go back to your GP.

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/03/2020 10:29

@Nosauce, i saw it this morning and can't find it now.

ChickLitLover · 10/03/2020 10:33

you come across as such a little sweetie

Thanks hun, that means a lot coming from you.

You seem determined to prove OP is lying and humiliate her. Just vile.

Alsohuman · 10/03/2020 10:33

You took an unwell child to A&E instead of the GP at a time when you’d have to be living under a stone not to know it’s even more stretched than usual. You took up time that’s in very short supply and is needed for people with life threatening conditions and needing urgent care. No wonder the staff were frustrated.

worriedmumishere · 10/03/2020 10:36

@Alsohuman I'm the one looking at my child and can see she's really ill so you have no place to say I'm taking up someone else's time. This is so not like my child at all. You don't see her right now. How can any qualified doctor say it's constipation causing her fever when its infection that causes fever!

OP posts:
PeterPanGoesWrong · 10/03/2020 10:37

Unwell for a few days is not a reason to visit A&E. Unwell for days is neither an accident nor an emergency!
During this corona virus outbreak it’s sensible to avoid hospitals as much as you can.
You were unreasonable for abusing A&E. Book a doctors appointment next time.
Sorry if I sound harsh, I’ve worked in the nhs. I hope your daughter feels better, but please don’t use A&E as an alternative to your family doctor!

Sorry OP, I agree with the majority of the others.

You should have taken her back to the doctor rather than A&E

Alsohuman · 10/03/2020 10:41

I have every right to say it, OP, because I’m correct. It’s bad enough taking up precious A&E time unnecessarily at any time but doing it now beggars belief.

spongejack · 10/03/2020 10:43

@NoSauce the other thread is using the name inthedarkX but she had a name change fail half way through m, it's the same poster as this one!

Isthistrueor · 10/03/2020 10:43

What a dick. My 16 month old was admitted over the weekend with Bronchiolitis, v.scary for me but thankfully he’s ok now. Never heard the C word mentioned once and I’m so bloody glad, tired of the mega hysteria now.

worriedmumishere · 10/03/2020 10:45

Ok and imagine I didn't take my child to A and E and wasted 'precious time' and something happened to my child I would be called a bad mother for not taking her!

OP posts:
ChickLitLover · 10/03/2020 10:45

She's wasting valuable resources and clearly needs help to deal with her anxiety, which I've recommended.

You’ve also spent a lot of time troll hunting and trying to humiliate. If she does have anxiety, she needs kindness not to be shown up.

No I'm not vile, but you calling a nurse you've never interacted with a "bitch" is most certainly vile.

I think you are. And anyone, especially a medical professional who makes a worried parent, worry more in the way he did is truly vile.

Anyway, I’ve reported the thread for troll hunting.

Hope your daughter is on the mend soon OP.

mummumumumumumumumumum · 10/03/2020 10:46

there was a thread on here recently with a daughter in lots of pain and a temperature and she was taking her very ill child back and forth to hospital. It turned out that she had constipation and was causing extreme pain and high temps so it can be constipation. I think you need to trust the experts.

Effinfamily · 10/03/2020 10:47

Also whilst we were there A&E was filled with people with what genuinely were just colds

Fast track medical training while you wait!

worriedmumishere · 10/03/2020 10:49

@ChickLitLover thank your kindness and compassion means a lot when I'm being told I'm wasting doctors time when I'm only worried about my child.

Not with her symptoms you wouldnt have done. Especially when you add the details from the other thread.

She didnt need emergency medical attention

AnneOfCloves · 10/03/2020 10:55

YABVU.

You should not have gone to A&E, it's a GP issue. I realise the nurse was pretty harsh, but he's no doubt sick to the back teeth of time wasters at a time like this. Stop catastrophising, you're not helping your child and you're distressing yourself. Trust your GP.

And just to point out they are clearly not taking this corona virus seriously are they. Any child can have corona virus and if they just dismiss children off with their fever constipation then they will never stop the spread will they. I'm not saying my child has had the corona a virus and that's the cause of her illness but she could have had because of the onset of sundowns was headache and fever the main symptoms of corona virus. So if the dismiss it like that then the spread will continue. Not saying my child has that but they clearly don't care

OP posts:
worriedmumishere · 10/03/2020 11:03

If they dismiss any fever that's gone on for says as constipation then they are not going to treat a child propel or resolve things is what I mean
