@Random18 in a nutshell, because the UAE has moved into the “minimising social contact” stage of control AHEAD of any outbreak (I forgot to mention that they have also cancelled ALL events), whereas the U.K. (which is largely very dirty with a struggling healthcare system) isn’t planning on moving to that stage until their are more cases (which is completely and utterly illogical).

I think the new cases are likely to all be travel related. I don't think we'll see numbers from contact tracing or GP screening until the end of the week at the earliest

The one in princess Alexandra is said to be of unknown origin but there was a school closed due to a teacher coming back from Italy. I suppose we just have to wait and see what happens now. Is there? Because again I need to buy some for my service (an existing need before Coronavirus) and there are none in stock from usual suppliers. And for hand gel there is a two week wait on the normal order...

We are ok as I Order in advance as a rule so have stock for a few weeks but for services that don't do this it might be an issue.

Dds school have asked every child to go with a pack, tissues, hand gel and hand wash. I can’t find one bottle of hand gel.

I don't think they have narrowed down locations yet but I would expect that to tail off as the numbers jump.
I also think this shows the current stance is t going to work, nor the "let's ask it nicely to wait until Spring" thing either.
