Would you cope with quarantine?

Just that really, if we were all told to stay home and self quarantine for two weeks, how would you and your family cope?

DD would be fine as long as she had her tablet
I would be fine for a few days but would start to get stir crazy after that
Would probably have enough food to last 2 weeks - might just be plain pasta and rice by the end, but we would survive.

I would be fine as long as I had netflix, as would dd1 as long as she had her phone/tablet. DH would go stir crazy within 24hrs and dd2 would probably be ok if she had her tablet and drawing supplies.

Doggyperson · 26/02/2020 06:14

As a runner it'd be a nightmare! I run everyday and eat lots of cake and crap so I imagine after a two weeks quarantine I'd be huge!

Otherwise I'd enjoy the time off work and read lots.

bellinisurge · 26/02/2020 06:14

That's assuming said Sainsbury's people are somehow magically unaffected themselves. Seriously, get real.

SallyWD · 26/02/2020 06:18

I'd do it but I'd hate it! Don't like staying in for even 1 or 2 days.

JustaScratch · 26/02/2020 06:20

As long as we had enough food we'd be fine. Actually sounds like bliss! Might be tricky for the dog though - would we be allowed to walk him along a quiet pathway as long as we didn't go near anyone?

WhentheDealGoesDown · 26/02/2020 06:25

I would be fine and just settle in with a few boxsets and books, DH though would be pacing around so I would have to set him a few DIY tasks and decorating jobs. We always have loads of food in and DS is adult and doesn't live with us so that would be OK

PlumsGalore · 26/02/2020 06:39

Easy, would be a good excuse to get the fridge, freezer and larder cupboards down, but like a pp, I wouldn’t want DH on lockdown with me for two weeks. Holidays are challenging at the end.

Oblomov20 · 26/02/2020 06:42

Would be happy as a pig in shit. Wouldn't bother me. I love being at home.

bellinisurge · 26/02/2020 06:44

Got your food sorted?

Janleverton · 26/02/2020 06:45

I’d have no problem at all holing up for 14 days at home! Books, tv, Internet, plenty of food. Sorted.

Janleverton · 26/02/2020 06:45

Again, would be bliss if on my own. Not so much with dh and the kids too!

HelgaHere1 · 26/02/2020 06:47

Yes, would like to be imprisoned in my lovely home and garden with no obligation to shop or socialise.

DivGirl · 26/02/2020 07:00

I have more than enough food for two weeks, and work from home anyway so pay wouldn't be an issue.

DS would drive me insane though, he's like a Labrador and needs at least two decent walks a day. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Scunnnnnered · 26/02/2020 07:02

I’d love every minute of it

bellinisurge · 26/02/2020 07:08

Please spend some time thinking whether elderly relatives or neighbours would be ok.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 26/02/2020 07:09

I would hate it but, of course, would manage.
We have a big garden so could be outside every day for a bit.
We’ve got Netflix, laptops and phones and plenty of unread books.
Probably have food to last a week or so but could get some delivered.

kateandme · 26/02/2020 07:11

could you do online shop delivered to a friends/neighbours.then they leave it at your door.

happycamper11 · 26/02/2020 07:12

I might struggle for food as I don't have a freezer, however 2 weeks at home with absolutely nothing to do sounds pretty tempting right now. I'm exhausted and so behind with housework 😆 I assume DC would still be allowed to play on their scooters etc in the garden/street?!

kateandme · 26/02/2020 07:12

because im thinking if you sk the delivery driver to leave it at your door there might be refusals as they would want to know why?

WhentheDealGoesDown · 26/02/2020 07:12

Actually DH has a bike set up in the garage to exercise on, I would probably have to send him out there for a few hours

Megan2018 · 26/02/2020 07:17

It’d be fine apart from I’d need someone to look after horse as she lives in another village.
I’m on mat leave anyway which tbh isn’t that dissimilar Grin
We never have food in so we’d need inline delivery to continue for us and the animals.

I like my own company so it’s fine.

hannah1992 · 26/02/2020 07:17

Practically, wed be fine for things like food etc. Mentally, 2 kids (9 and 4), dh and me all in the house. Cant leave. Cant go outside. Cant see anyone else. I think I'd go insane and someone may end up under the patio 😂

Megan2018 · 26/02/2020 07:21

@bellinisurge Ocado don’t need a signature and they frequently leave it outside for me now if I can’t get to the door with a feeding baby.
Postman, DPD and Hermes already have a system for leaving things that need a signature too. I just open the gates and they leave things in the wood store Smile

TravelDreamLife · 26/02/2020 07:22

As long as we have tv & WiFi & we'll be fine. We have a decent back yard so can sit out there too. Will go crazy tho.

As for food.... I was going to start buying a few extra bits... But our blasted media has caught onto a report saying 'buy a few extra bits just in case' & have blown it out to panic proportions, so I expect the shops will be stripped of anything non perishable by the weekend. (We're in oz, where the cases number in the 20's & most were from that cruise ship in Japan.)

Shakespearesbrother · 26/02/2020 07:23

I’d be fine on my own. It’s the others in the house that would do my head in!
