If stabbing a fellow pilot and trying to down a plane with 180 Israelis isn't terrorism what is?

It seems like a mass terrorism event has been fouled but heroes on an air plane this morning

Many if our news outlets are describing this as a stabbing on an airplane. No...if you stab the pilot and the plane plummet towards the ground that is an attempt at mass murder... terrorism.

Are the media so afraid now of using the word terrorism that they completely downplay the event. Third rated news article in the Guardian after political stories

It's a reminder of how many enemies Israel has and what they are prepared to do.

Yes it does seem an absolutely miracle that other pilots on board so all survived.

I read in some reports that the plane basically rapidly dropped altitude before the co-pilot sent out a distress signal, he had to do it a few times, poor guy was probably desperately sending out distress signals while that lunatic was stabbing him.

The extra pilots were placed there by fly dubai because there was a chance the plane had to be rerouted (no idea) I believe they were south african and a new Zealander, not israeli (thats one for the conspiracy theory nuts on here who will blame mossad or some other dumb shite rather than accept that hi-jacking a plane and flying it into shit isn’t that unusual for terrorists).

Kudos for to the pilot for being able to think and act quickly enough to save lives and kudos to the Israeli passengers for restraining the nutter and providing first aid to the pilot and Kudos to the Saudis for apparently hosting the passengers with care.

I thought there was more security on flights to Israel, but I guess if it was an axe that is on the plane anyway for fire safety purposes, hard to avoid that.

According to the Jerusalem post, it was not coincidence or miracle that there were 2 extra pilots on board.

The additional pilots were added to the flight because possible regional rerouting could extend the journey and push the original crew beyond permitted duty hours.

The crew job (both flight and cabin) can involve quite a bit of what is known as positioning, where you basically passenger before or after operating sectors.

Some airlines do it more than others.

But the attacker had a knife apparently so that is a question to be answered how a knife got on board.

What I found strange was the deadheading crew were apparently sitting at the back of the aircraft. I’ve only ever known them to be up front in the first row on the starboard side.

I, and you, or anyone else on this thread, haven't got a bloody clue what happened on that flight yet but hey, let's keep going with the conspiracies. Personally I think it was an alien from the planet Zorg who took over the pilots body and was trying to assassinate someone from the planet Zarg. Strewth.

You'd hope to.be somewhere decent if positioning with your own company but no guarantees.

Position with another operator and it could be utterly random.

True but there are accounts from the passengers about what happened and they probably have a more informed opinion.

If it was a knife how long was the blade?

Gee, I wonder why flydubai might not want people to speculate about one of their (recently hired) pilots being a terrorist and what kind of background checks, mental health screening etc is in place. They are defintely an unbiased source of information and advice regarding this matter 🙄
